Presentación
La investigación científica es uno de los pilares básicos e irrenunciables de la UCAM,
siempre orientada hacia la mejora del bienestar social y el aumento de la productividad empresarial. Nuestra Universidad apuesta decididamente por una investigación
de calidad, prueba de ello es el constante incremento de recursos destinados a este
fin, que en 2014 supusieron más de 11 millones de euros. En nuestro Plan Propio de
Investigación, en el año 2014 se invirtieron más de 1.200.000 euros fundamentalmente en captación de talento, financiación de proyectos de investigación, adquisición
de infraestructuras científico-técnicas y movilidad de investigadores. Por otra parte,
en los últimos años también está aumentando nuestra capacidad para conseguir financiación en proyectos competitivos, tanto nacionales como europeos, contando en
2014 con más de 1 millón de euros en proyectos activos.
Estos recursos están permitiendo que la producción científica de nuestros investigadores se incremente notablemente, llegando a alcanzar en 2014 un total de 511 publicaciones, de las cuales 179 corresponden a revistas científicas internacionales de alto
impacto.
Cabe destacar la importancia de la transferencia tecnológica al sector productivo.
En este sentido, en 2014 colaboramos con más de 60 empresas con un presupuesto activo aproximado de 1.5 millones de euros. Un logro importante durante esta
anualidad fue la implantación del Programa de Doctorados Industriales que, sin
duda, contribuye a fomentar la relación y colaboración universidad-empresa, con el
fin de favorecer el desarrollo y la innovación en el tejido productivo. Durante 2014
se invirtieron más de 350.000 euros en este programa.
Por otra parte, la actividad en nuestra Escuela Internacional de Doctorado, con los 4
programas que la integran verificados según el RD 99/2011, es cada vez más intensa,
habiéndose inscrito en 2014, 351 proyectos de tesis.
Por último, para desarrollar una investigación de calidad es imprescindible la evaluación tanto de los proyectos a financiar como de los resultados obtenidos en los mismos. Para ello, hemos firmado convenios con las agencias nacionales ANEP y CNEAI
para evaluar los proyectos que acuden a nuestra convocatoria del plan propio y la
producción científica de nuestros investigadores, respectivamente.

Scientific research is one of the essential and inalienable pillars of UCAM, which has
always been oriented towards the improvement of the social welfare and the increase of the business productivity. Our University firmly supports a research of quality;
the main proof of this commitment is the constant increase of the allocated budget,
which consisted of more than 11 million euros in 2014. More than 1.200.000 euros
were invested in our Own Research Plan, principally in attracting talent, financing research projects, acquiring scientific and technical equipment and encouraging the
mobility of researchers. On the other hand, in recent years, our ability to reach funding
in competitive projects, national as well as international, has increased to more than
one million euros invested in active projects in 2014.
These resources are the reason for the increase of our scientific production, reaching
in 2014 a total of 511 published papers, among those were 179 in scientific journals
of high impact.
The importance of the technological transfer to the industrial sector is worth highlighting. In this regard, we collaborated with more than 60 companies in 2014, with an
active budget of 1.5 million euros. An important step reached during this past year
was the establishment of a new industrial PhD program that, without a doubt, will
contribute to encourage the relation and collaboration between the University and
companies, aiming to foster the development and the innovation in the business
world. In 2014, more than 350.000 euros were invested in this program.
Moreover, the activity in our International PhD School, composed of four programs
verified by RD 99/2011, is continuously increasing with 351 PhD projects registered
in 2014.
Finally, in order to develop a high quality research it is essential to evaluate projects
for funding as well as to obtain results. In this regard, we have signed agreements with
the national agencies ANEP and CNEAI in order to respectively assess projects and the
scientific production of our researchers.
