Be a Servant of God
There is not doubt that this is one of the
highlights of the Christian year, today we
continue to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
It is wonderful to think of the many
prophets, kings and holy men and women
who anticipated with great hope and
patience the coming of the Savior. How
fortunate are we to be heirs of the faith that
keeps alive and present the mystery of the
One who came into the world all those years
ago. Surely we gather with great joy and
gladness to celebrate the fact that our Lord
Jesus was born in time and as man, but may
we, like the prophets, kings and holy people
of old, also wait with great hope and patience the glorious return of Christ our King.
When that day will come only God knows,
in the meantime, we are called to
joyfully live in the awareness that Christ
came to equip us with the many graces that
we need to arrive at that day as good and
faithful servants. That is why our faith is
lived in joy and fidelity not just in these
days of Christmas but every day and
especially on the Day of the Lord, which is
Sunday, when receiving Him, we are filled
with hope, faith and love.

No cabe duda que hoy es uno de los días que
mas resale en todo el año, hoy seguimos
celebrando el nacimiento de nuestro
Salvador. Es asombroso pensar en los
profetas, los reyes, y los hombres y mujeres
santos que anticipaban con gran esperanza y
paciencia la venida del Salvador. Por otro
lado, que afortunados somos nosotros, que
somos herederos de la fe que mantiene vivo
y presente el misterio de Aquel que vino al
mundo tantos años atrás. Por supuesto nos
juntamos aquí con gozo y alegría para
celebrar el hecho de que el Señor Jesús
nació en el tiempo como hombre, pero al
igual a aquellos reyes, profetas y santos de
los tiempos antiguos, que también nosotros
esperemos con gran esperanza y paciencia la
gloriosa venida de Cristo nuestro Rey.
Cuando llegue ese tiempo, solo Dios lo sabe,
pero por ahora somos llamados a vivir
gozosos en la seguridad que Cristo vino para
equiparnos con las gracias que necesitamos
para saludar ese día como siervos buenos y
fieles. Por esto vivimos la fe con gozo y
fidelidad no solamente en este día, pero
todos los días, y especialmente en el Día del
Señor, que es el domingo, cuando
recibiéndolo, somos colmados de fe,
esperanza y amor.

retreat. Sponsors will not

event! This retreat is for
sponsors of all First
Communicants (2nd—12th

Christmas Project
First Communion Mini-Retreat Jan. 2
Calling all 6th-9th graders preparing for First Communion:
We have a mystery to solve, and we need your detective
skills! On Saturday, January 2 from 9am-12pm at OLV, our
mini-retreat will feature an interactive mystery experience.
Who did it? In what room? Using what weapon? Come
ready to be a sleuth, learn about the Eucharist, and grow
closer to our Lord. This is a required event for all First Communion teens in 6th-9th grade. Questions? Contact Daniel

Sponsor Contract
If your child is in their 2nd year of First Communion
preparation classes this year and you have not yet
turned in your child’s sponsor contract, please contact

Mini-Retiro de Primera communion
el 2 de enero
Todos los adolecentes preparando para la primera
comunión, en los grados 6-9 tenemos un misterio que
resolver, y necesitamos tus habilidades de detective! El
sábado 2 de enero a partir de las 9am-12pm en NSV
nuestro mini-retiro contará con una experiencia de misterio
interactiva. ¿Quién lo hizo? ¿En qué habitación? Usando la
arma? Ven preparado para ser un detective, y aprende
acerca dela Eucaristía, y como acercarse más a nuestro
Señor. Este es un evento requerido para todos los
adolescentes de Primera Comunión en sexto al noveno
