BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC SCHOOL Excitement at BSCS! This playground is now a year old, and students of all grades continue to enjoy this equipment. These 4th graders are taking a break from studying! The students at BSCS attend school Mass on Thursdays at 8:45 a.m. This Mass is celebrated with Father Joseph and the other parts of the Mass (readers, cantor, choir, gift bearers) are done by the students. We also have Mass on Holy Days of Obligation. Due to Father Joseph’s schedule, sometimes our school Masses are on days other than Thursdays! It is such a blessing to be part of the children worshiping God and taking an active part in the Mass. We invite you, family members, parishioners, friends, to join us! Sign-up for Readers’ Group and the choirs (Choir I and Choir II) has begun. The members of the Readers’ Group provide the readings and prayer intentions at the school Masses. The choirs serve as cantors and lead the singing at the school Masses – and also sing at some weekend Masses. Schoolhouse Fare, the new lunch program, will begin on September 6th. This online ordering program will offer lunches from various vendors of the West Ashley area. Orders may be placed in advance as well as for the next day. (Pope Francis, Ground Zero Memorial, New York, Sept. 25, 2015) CANONIZATION OF MOTHER TERESA: Our priest associate Monsignor Michael Mannion, who had a 28-year friendship with Mother Teresa, will concelebrate the Mass. And two members of our international team – Bob Lalonde and Geoffrey Strickland (who staffs our Rome office) – will be in attendance and carry with them all the prayers and petitions of our Priests for Life supporters. Mother Teresa touched many of our lives here at Priests for Life. In 1994, just a year after taking over as national director of Priests for Life, she invited Fr. Frank Pavone to speak to sisters and priests in India about our work. Mother Teresa and Fr. Frank had many discussions about the prolife movement. When he told her about some of the legal persecution that pro-life people face, she looked at him and said, "Father, if we had laws like that here in India, I would have been thrown in jail many times!"
