“Ten musical geniuses playing beautifully cannot
perform a symphony! It takes an orchestra!”
... “Catholic Schools Week”, January 25 - January
31, reminds us of the lasting gift we can share with
our children, and of the sacrifice, dedication and
generosity of so many who make it possible!
... Throughout our nation there are 5,399 Catholic
Elementary Schools serving a total of 1,391,793
students, and 1,195 Catholic High Schools with an
enrollment of 582,785.
... There are 151,351 full time professional staff in
our schools, 96.8% of whom are laity. The student/
teacher ratio is 13:1.
... In the Diocese of San Diego there are 45 Elementary Schools with an enrollment of 14,168 students,
and 6 High Schools with an enrollment of 4,063,
giving a total of 18,231 students. Real investment!
... Our Saint John School has an enrollment of 458
students, 91% of whom are registered parishioners.
... At Saint John we are blessed with 29 teachers, 7
aides, 3 administrators and 4 admin-assistants.
... Our current tuition is $5,650.00 per student.
Our Annual School Budget is $3.1 million!
... Dan Schuh, our Principal, Jill Burke, our VicePrincipal, and their dedicated staff, diligently strive
for excellence in everything!
... Join us for a Saint John School ‘Open House’
today (25), from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Come along
and meet our staff, and take a tour around our great
facility. Refreshments are being served!
... Saint John School, a Christ-centered environment, empowers our children to gain a thorough
understanding of the Catholic faith, achieve their
highest academic potential, and share Christ’s love
through Christian action!
... Our Saint John School Board is a dynamic
group of parents and parishioners who oversee our
great school, and contribute vision, leadership and
service to ensure the future of our school. And in
these technological times, they are keeping us right
there! Rich Yousko is our School Board president.
... Our children host their grandparents for a
‘Grandparents Day Mass’, this Friday (30), at
10:30am. All are welcome.
... The Saint John School website is a treasury of
information at www.saintjohnschool.com

Pete and Colleen. Saturday (17) was also the 79th

siempre quedan algunos cabos sueltos.

tiempo. No importa si quemamos aceite, cera o
electricidad. Lo que importa es velar en oración.
LA PRESENTACION DEL SEÑOR
Hasta el Concilio Vaticano II se celebraba
como fiesta principalmente mariana, pero
desde entonces ha
pasado a ser en
primer lugar
Cristológica, ya que
el principal misterio
que se conmemora
es la Presentación
de Jesús en el
Templo y su manifestación o encuentro con
Simeón. El centro, pues, de esta fiesta no
sería María, sino Jesús. María entra a formar
anciana Ana.
