SECOND THOUGHT: “On the other hand, maybe we should think about it this way.”
SECOND FIDDLE: “I know I’m not the best, so I’ll just swim along in the wake of someone else.”
SECOND BEST: “Not as important.”
SECOND NATURE: ?
We have all been in the position of “next after
first,” but the phrase “second nature” does not
necessarily follow this concept in a strict sense.
What I mean is – we behave the way our
instincts tell us. We were born with a handful of
basic reactions to danger, hunger, darkness,
kindness and so on, and those instincts define us.
Our second nature, however, is what we acquire from experience along the way. We learn by practice and repetition. If you
watch a carpenter hang a door or a dentist fill a cavity or a short order cook make an omelet, you immediately think of how
easy they make it look. The only reason it looks easy is they have done this task hundreds of times. After many cycles of
practice, all of us can make our tasks look easy.
Remember, we all learned how to brush our teeth, wash our hands and get to work on time – these things are second nature.
Let’s make safety second nature in the same way!

to honor our fallen heroes.

It’s a Girl !
Brian and Brenda Phelps are first time
grandparents! Tyler and Jericha Phelps
welcomed their baby girl, Aubrey Lane, on May
13, 2014. Ms. Aubrey arrived weighing 7 lbs. 13
oz. Brian is the General Manager at Jasper Stone
and Tyler is a former LGE employee.

SEGUNDA NATURALEZA: ?
Todos hemos estado en la posición de "siguiente
después de la primera", pero la frase "segunda
naturaleza" no se sigue necesariamente este concepto en
un sentido estricto. Lo que quiero decir es - nos
comportamos de la manera en que nuestros instintos nos
dicen. Nacimos con un puñado de reacciones básicas
ante el peligro, el hambre, la oscuridad, la bondad y así
sucesivamente, y los instintos nos definimos.
Nuestra segunda naturaleza, sin embargo, es lo que adquirimos por experiencia a lo largo del camino. Nos enteramos por la práctica y la repetición.
Si usted mira un carpintero colgar una puerta o un dentista llenar una cavidad o un cocinero de comida rápida hacer una tortilla, se piensa
inmediatamente en lo fácil que hacer que se vea. La única razón por la que parece fácil es lo que han hecho esta tarea cientos de veces. Después de
muchos ciclos de la práctica, todos nosotros podemos hacer nuestras tareas parezcan fáciles.
Recuerde que todos aprendimos cómo cepillarse los dientes, lavarse las manos y ponerse a trabajar a tiempo - estas cosas son una segunda
naturaleza. Hagamos segundo seguridad la naturaleza de la misma manera!
Tener un seguro de fin de semana de Memorial Day, y por favor
tome un momento para honrar a nuestros héroes caídos.
Para los hombres y mujeres estadounidenses en uniforme pasado y el
presente, le damos las gracias por su servicio, valor y sacrificio.

Es una Muchacha!
Brian y Brenda Phelps son los primeros abuelos
de tiempo! Tyler y Jericha Phelps dio la
bienvenida a su bebé, Aubrey Lane, el 13 de
mayo de 2014. Sra. Aubrey llegó pesando 7
libras. 13 oz Brian es el Gerente General en
Jasper Stone y Tyler es un ex empleado de LGE.
