PE1430S Hearing Aid Wearing Warranty And Follow Up Schedule
Audiología 7/15 Tr (jw/lv) PE1430S 2 de 2 Patient and Family Education Hearing Aid Warranty and Follow Up Schedule Are the hearing aids covered with a warranty for breakdown and repair? A warranty that covers loss, damage and repair comes with each hearing aid. During the warranty period, the number of repairs is not limited. However, if the hearing aid is damaged too much to repair or is lost, you will get a new one (hearing aids are replaced only once). Hearing aid warranties are available from the hearing aid manufacturer, not Seattle Children’s Hospital. If your child’s hearing aid needs to be replaced during the warranty period, buying insurance for the replacement hearing aid is a good idea. Insurance can also be bought when the warranty ends. Your child’s hearing aid(s) must be checked for good working order by the audiologist before you can buy this insurance. Ask your child’s audiologist about this insurance. Your child’s hearing aid warranty is good for year(s) When should my child return to the Audiology Clinic? After being fitted with hearing aids, bring your child to the clinic regularly for hearing aid check-ups. Within the first year after your fitting, programming changes and testing your child with hearing aids is provided at no additional cost. There will be charges for new earmolds and hearing tests done without the hearing aids. Your child will need other visits to monitor their hearing and hearing aid function. Your audiologist will tell you when the next visit should be. Recommended hearing aid follow-up visits: • 4 to 6 weeks after the first fitting • 6 months after the first fitting • When your child’s audiologist recommends a visit It is your responsibility to call and schedule the follow-up visits. Please bring your child’s hearing aids and earmolds to all appointments.
