Dear Comstock Family,
We have achieved a lot together this year and I am honored and proud to be part of this dedicated and inspired
school. I can honestly say that this is the best job I have ever had! Actually, it is more than a job to me: I love coming
to work every day; I love the camaraderie, collaboration and expertise of everyone here; I love the sincere and
honest joy of learning I see in so many of our students. I also love our shared mission of providing a world-class
educational opportunity for students in Northwest Santa Rosa. Now on to some details:
SBAC FIELD TESTING BEGINS IN APRIL
The new SBAC testing will be occurring throughout the month of April. These tests will occur to help the California
“test the test” and will not be used as accountability for the school or students. California is getting it right in
allowing all of us to Field Test this year and possibly the next couple of years. The STAR test for 8th grade will still
occur on April 15 & 16. At Comstock, we are always trying to help students succeed; many of our students have
already taken practice tests so get familiar with the SBAC which is done entirely on computers.
IMPROVING ATTENDANCE
Clearly, students have much better success when they attend school regularly. At Comstock, we have been taking
many positive steps to reward good attendance—and they are responding in a very positive way. Attendance is up
and more learning is occurring. Thank you for making sure that your student is school on-time every day; it makes a
difference!
SPECIAL EVENTS
April 8: ELAC/PFO meeting to discuss end of year events! PLEASE COME! 6pm in the library
May 15: SRJC ESL CLASS sign-up for parents: The Junior College will be enrolling adults for next semesters ESL class.

May 22 7th Grade Awards will be given during a Renaissance Rally today. Stay tuned for more information.
END OF YEAR ACTIVITES FOR 8th GRADERS
We are planning special events this year for our 8th grade class.
 8th Grade Fun-Day will be held on Thursday, May 22. We have arranged for students to go to CHOPS and then
come back for a BBQ Lunch. If you are available to chaperone, please contact the school.
 8th Grade Awards- A ceremony honoring our 8th grade students will be held on Friday, May 23 at 5pm in our
Quad. Please come to honor your student. Then 8th graders will be able to attend a formal dance at 6:00 pm
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Our 3rd year of Project Make camp is being offered FREE to Comstock students. A flyer about the camp with an
application is attached in this email.

Querida familia de Comstock,
Hemos logrado muchas cosas juntos este año y me siento honrado y orgulloso de ser parte de esta escuela dedicada
e inspirada. Honestamente puedo decir que este es el mejor trabajo que he tenido ! En realidad , es más que un
trabajo para mí: me encanta venir a trabajar todos los días , me encanta la camaradería , la colaboración y la
experiencia de todo el mundo aquí , me encanta la alegría sincera y honesta de aprendizaje que veo en muchos de
nuestros estudiantes. También me encanta nuestra misión compartida de brindar una oportunidad educativa de
clase mundial para los estudiantes en el noroeste de Santa Rosa. Ahora a algunos detalles :
PRUEBAS DE CAMPO SBAC EMPIEZA EN ABRIL
La nueva prueba SBAC se produce durante todo el mes de abril. Estas pruebas tendrán lugar de ayudar a la California
" probar la prueba " y no será utilizado como la rendición de cuentas de la escuela o de los estudiantes . California
está haciendo bien en permitir a todos nosotros a campo de prueba de este año y, posiblemente, el próximo par de
años . El test de STAR para octavo grado se sigue produciendo el 15 de abril y 16 . En Comstock , siempre estamos
tratando de ayudar a los estudiantes a tener éxito , y muchos de nuestros estudiantes ya han tomado pruebas de la
práctica de manera familiarizarse con el SBAC que se realiza en su totalidad en las computadoras.
MEJORAR LA ASISTENCIA
Claramente, los estudiantes tienen mucho más éxito cuando asisten a la escuela regularmente. En Comstock, hemos
estado tomando muchas medidas positivas para premiar la buena asistencia y que están respondiendo de una
manera muy positiva. La asistencia está en marcha y se está produciendo un mayor aprendizaje . Gracias por
asegurarse de que su estudiante es la escuela a tiempo todos los días , sino que hace una diferencia!
EVENTOS ESPECIALES
08 de abril : Reunión de ELAC / PFO para discutir finales de año eventos ! POR FAVOR VENGA ! 18:00 en la biblioteca
15 de mayo: SRJC ESL CLASE inscripción para los padres : El Junior College va a inscribir los adultos para la clase
próximos semestres ESL . 18:00 en la biblioteca
Que se les dará 22 premios de grado séptimo durante un Rally Renacimiento hoy. Estén atentos para más
información.
FIN DE AÑO ACTIVIDADES PARA 8 º grado
Estamos planeando eventos especiales este año para nuestra clase de 8 º grado .
• 8 º Grado Fun- Day se celebrará el jueves 22 de mayo. Hemos hecho arreglos para que los estudiantes van a
chuletas y luego volver para un almuerzo de barbacoa. Si usted está disponible para acompañante , por favor
póngase en contacto con la escuela.
• Premios - Un octavo grado ceremonia en honor a los estudiantes de 8 º grado se llevará a cabo el viernes 23 de
mayo a las 17:00 en nuestro Quad. Por favor venga a honrar a su estudiante. Luego de 8 º grado podrán asistir a un
baile de gala a las 6:00 pm
ACTIVIDADES DE VERANO
Nuestro 3er año de Proyecto acampar se ofrece GRATIS a Comstock estudiantes. Un folleto sobre el campamento con
una aplicación se adjunta en este correo electrónico .
