The Texas Gypsies? How does that fit together?...How about like Gypsy Jazz legend Django
Reinhardt and Western Swing Pioneer Bob Wills? Gypsy Jazz meets Western Swing is how some
describe our music...like Jalapeno Peppers and Quiche Lorraiine. You come see and decide...it’s a
fun and artistic, acoustic and electric mix of classic and original music influenced by many regions
from a critically accalimed and award winning band.
The Band can perform a variety of styles such as well-known classics, Gypsy Jazz, Western Swing,
New Orleans Jazz, Blues, Rockabilly and their own compositions. They mix and match acoustic and
electric guitars, horns, violin, drums and bass.
The band is on three prestigious arts organizations’ rosters: The Texas Commission on the Arts,
The Mid- America Arts Alliance and the National Endowment of the Arts American Masterpieces
Touring Rosters.
Performing over one hundred and fifty shows a year, the band is able to perform with from four
to eight members, thereby making it fit within presenters’ budgets. With a look evocative of the
vintage era, their show features both instrumental and vocal songs which are artistic and fun.
They also perform acoustically. Master Classes are available in schools featuring one instructor to
the entire band.
Some of the famous artists our band members have played with are: Frank Sinatra, The Jacksons,
Wings, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Texas Playboys, Wynton Marsalis, Tony Bennett, Barbara Mandrell,
Blues Brothers and many more!!
