JESUS AWAITS FOR US
I
n Robert Frost’s poem “The Death of the
Hired Man,” a husband and wife define
home in two different ways. Home, says
he, is the place where they have to take you in
when you show up. Home, says she, is
something you don’t have to “deserve.” Jesus
would stand with the wife, I think. The home
destined for us is our Father’s gift, a grace
generously given, something we don’t have to
earn or deserve. A disciple of Jesus could
further define home as that place where Jesus
has gone to prepare a place for us, and he will
come back to take us to dwell with him and the Father.
Furthermore, Jesus assures us that he is the way to the
Father and that whoever sees Him sees the Father. This is
one of the most consoling passages in the Gospel of John,
reminding us of the intimate relationship Jesus has with his
Father and assuring us that even now by baptism we are part
of the intimacy, if we choose to be. The challenge is to live
into and out of this intimate relationship each day.

n el poema de Robert Frost "The Death
of the Hired Man," un esposo y esposa
definen el significado del hogar en dos
maneras distintas. El hogar, como lo describe
él, es el lugar donde tienen que recibirte
cuando te presentas. El hogar, como lo
describe ella, no es algo que tienes que
"merecerte." Creo que Jesús estaría de
acuerdo con la esposa. El hogar destinado para
nosotros es un don de nuestro Padre,
generosamente dado, es algo que nosotros no
tenemos que ganar o merecer. Un discípulo de
Jesús podría definir el hogar como el lugar donde Jesús ha ido
a prepararlo para nosotros, y que regresará para llevarnos con
Él y con el Padre. Además, Jesús nos asegura que Él es el
camino al Padre y que todo el que lo ve a Él, ve al Padre. Este
es uno de los pasajes más consoladores del Evangelio de Juan,
este nos recuerda la íntima relación de Jesús con su Padre y
nos asegura que incluso ahora, por medio del bautismo,
formamos parte de esta intimidad, si así lo elegimos. Nuestro
reto es el de vivir dentro y fuera de esta intimidad cada día.

Registrations for 2014-2015 Faith Formation classes for
children in Pre-Kindergarten thru Sixth grade and Sacramental
Preparation for children are now available. Register as soon
as possible! Space for each session is limited and children will
be registered on a first come, first serve basis until each session
is at capacity. Children must be registered by August 24th to
attend. Registration forms are available in the entrance of the
church, at the Parish Office, and online at

beginning this Sunday, May 18th session from 2:30pm—5pm.
Parent session will take place from 4pm—5pm.

Don’t forget!!! The Why Catholic? closing ceremony is coming
