Parent Reminders:
• CAL will participate in the Great American Shake-Out on Thursday, October 16th.
During the drill, students will practice procedures for earthquakes. They will be on the
yard for more than 45 minutes during the drill. If you have questions about the drill,
please call the office!
• The American Red Cross and CAL have partnered up to bring you our second annual
“Emergency Preparedness” parent training this Thursday, October 16th, from 5:006:00pm. Attendance at the parent meeting is worth 1 parent volunteer hour. We will
be selling pizza and drinks to families in attendance! See you Thursday night!
• Friday, October 17th- Delectable Fundraising Deserts money due to the office. Thank
you to all of the families who sold items to raise money for CAL!
• Wednesday, October 22nd will be our second “Coffee with the Principal!” Topics will
include school beautification and Red Ribbon Week. We will also revisit some of the
topics discussed at last month’s meeting.
• Many students and parents have asked about Halloween. Below are guidelines to
follow if you and your child choose to participate in dressing up for Halloween.
Costumes are optional. Please do not feel obligated to have your child dress up. Do
not keep your son/daughter out of school because of this day! We want ALL of our
students to be present on October 31st.
• Students that choose to participate MUST dress up as a character from a
book.
• Students are asked to wear their costumes to school. They will NOT be allowed
to change clothing during the day.
• Children are not allowed to bring toy knives, toy guns, swords or any other type
of weapon.
• Costumes that expose skin or use bloody make-up are not allowed.
• The office will not accept costumes being dropped off during the day.
• We will not allow students to be checked out to put their costumes on and
return.
• Teachers will NOT have parties in their classrooms. We want this day to be fun
for students that choose to participate, but we also want to maintain our
instructional environment!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your child’s teacher. Thank you for your

Recordatorios de padres:
• CAL participará en el Great American sacudida el jueves 16 de octubre. Durante el
simulacro, los estudiantes practicarán procedimientos para terremotos. Estarán en el patio
Durante más de 45 minutos durante el ejercicio. Si usted tiene preguntas sobre el taladro, por
favor llame a la oficina!
• La Cruz Roja Americana y CAL se han asociado para lograr que nuestra segunda
capacitación para padres anual "Preparación para Emergencias" este Jueves, 16 de octubre, a
partir de 5:00-6:00. La asistencia a la reunión de padre contara como1 hora de padre
voluntario. Estaremos vendiendo pizza y bebidas para las familias en la asistencia! Nos
vemos el jueves por la noche!
• Viernes, octubre 17 el dinero de la recaudacion de articulos de Delectables debe ser
entregado a la oficina. ¡Gracias a todas las familias que venden artículos para recaudar
fondos para CAL!
• Miércoles, 22 de octubre será nuestro segundo "Café con la Prinipal!" Temas incluirá
embellecimiento de la escuela y la Semana del Listón Rojo. También vamos a revisar
algunos de los temas tratados en la reunión del mes pasado.
• Muchos estudiantes y padres han preguntado acerca de Halloween. A continuación se
presentan las pautas a seguir si usted y su hijo decide participar en disfrazarse para
Halloween. Disfraces son opcionales. Por favor, no se sienta obligado a tener su a su nino
vestido. No deje su hijo / hija en casa por esta causa de este día! Queremos que todos
nuestros estudiantes estén presentes el 31 de octubre.
• Los estudiantes que quieran participar deben vestirse como un personaje de un libro.
• Se solicita a los estudiantes a usar sus disfraces a la escuela. Ellos NO se les permitirá
cambiarse de ropa durante el día.
• Los niños no se les permite traer cuchillos de juguete, pistolas de juguete, espadas o
cualquier otro tipo de arma.
• Disfraces que exponen la piel o utilizan sangrienta maquillaje no están permitidos.
• La oficina no va a aceptar los trajes que se traigan durante el día.
• No se permitirá a los estudiantes a ser sacados del salon para poner sus trajes en y volver.
• Los maestros no tendran fiestas en sus salones. Queremos que este día sea
divertido para los estudiantes que decidan participar, pero también queremos
mantener nuestro ambiente de instrucción!
