Parents and students in Pre-K 4 y r. program – Grade 3 2012 Annual Catholic Appeal “Come, Follow M e” As St. Luke recalls f or us in today ’s Gospel, only af ter the Apostles had absorbed the wonderment of seeing Jesus aliv e when they thought Him dead, did the importance of His words take on meaning. Jesus chose the Apostles as witnesses to His mission and true identity. If any one among them thought that Jesus had some other way of telling the world about Himself , these thoughts were dismissed when they realized that they were the means; they would be God’s instruments. As f ollowers of Christ, we too become God’s instruments. We are challenged to liv e as Jesus did with an outpouring of lov e and compassion f or others. The Annual Catholic Appeal, with its theme, “Come, Follow Me”, inv ites each of us to help bring Christ into the liv es of those who seek His presence. It is an opportunity f or each of us to unite as a Catholic community and to reach out to serv e others – the hungry, the homeless, the unemploy ed, the distressed, the unchurched, our children, and the elderly. This weekend y ou are inv ited to participate in the 2012 Annual Catholic Appeal. Please respond by pledging a sacrif icial gif t to this y ear’s campaign. By giv ing generously, y ou accept the Lord’s call to “Come, Follow Me”. To learn more about the Annual Catholic Appeal, v isit www.cdow.org and click on “Annual Catholic Appeal”..
