¡Fue un éxito nuestra junta comunitaria Noche de Seguridad para Nuestros Estudiantes! Las presentaciones incluyeron los perros policiacos K9, autos especializados para los policías, presentaciones del Club de Niños de Sacramento y
de la Casa de Niños en Sacramento. El Teniente Pruitt (retirado) estará dando
sus servicios voluntarios para ayudar a los jóvenes en nuestra escuela. El centro
de niños en Sacramento ayudara a un grupo de jovencitas de nuestra escuela.
Esperamos verlos en los demás eventos programados para nuestra escuela.

Vision 2000 is offering a
high quality after school
program designed to provide
Ethel I. Baker students with
an academic program in language arts to help them succeed in reading. Language
Arts is the key focus. Open
Court reading, high frequency word and vowel /
consonant review, fluency,
phonemic awareness, structural patterns, comprehen-
sion and benchmark activities
to stimulate reading and writing skills.. Nutritious meals
are provided each day free of

Visión 2000 ofrece un programa de alta calidad de tutorial después de escuela para los estudiantes de los grados 2-6. Este programa esta asignado para ayudar a los estudiantes en
destrezas de lectura. Un ligero bocadillo se les da todos los estudiantes que participan. La
tutorial es los martes y miércoles de 3:00-4:30 p.m. Si esta interesado en que su hijo(a)
reciba servicios, favor de llamar a nuestra oficina al (916) 433-5444 o al programa Visión
2000 al (916) 752-9696.
Free Math tutoring for 2nd and 3rd graders!/Tutoria para estudiantes de 2 y 3 grados
The Target Excellence Program has math tutoring available 2 days per week for 1 1/2 hours a day. The program

Fitness Gram Report
February 2012 – Hello Baker
Parents, Did you see your child’s
Fitness Gram Report? Please call
the school office and leave a message with Ms. Nancy if you have
not seen your 4 – 6th graders Fitness Test Scores and would like
another copy.
Your student will be retaking these tests in the spring and receiving
a new Fitness Report comparing
the pretest and post-test scores.
Every week in Physical Education
we are practicing these tests to
stay strong for the March/April
Final Tests. Muscles gain
strength very quickly. Students
wanting to improve their scores in
the hope of earning the President’s
Challenge Award should practice
four to five times a week.

Reportes de Educación Física
Para recibir el reporte de su estudiante de 4-6 grados Fitness Gram, favor Maestra Morris
de comunicarse a la oficina de la escuela. Su estudiante tomara otro examen durante la clase de educación física para comparar el mejoramiento
del estudiante en la disciplina de educación física. Estamos practicando
estos ejercicios para mantenernos Fuertes para los examines en marzo y
abril. Nuestros músculos fortalecen rápidamente así que debemos seguir
hacienda ejercicio. Todo los estudiantes que quieran recibir el certificado
President’s Challenge deben practicar 4 a 5 veces por semana. Gracias.
PTA Little Caesars Pizza Kit Fundraiser/Recaudacion de fondos Little Ceasars

Please participate in our highly anticipated Little Caesars fundraiser.
This will help raise money for our school PTA to help pay for Ethel I
Baker t-shirts for all students and for the 6th graders to go on an end
of the year trip.
Orders and money are due to your teachers February 6th 2012. Pizza
delivery date is February 21, 2012 from 3pm—5pm in room 13 .
Favor de participar en nuestras esfuerzos para recaudar fondos
para nuestra escuela. Queremos ayudar a la clases de 6 grado ha
ir a un viaje al fin de ano. Las ordenes deben de ser entregado a
los maestros el 6 de febrero y los productos se van a recoger el 21
de febrero entre las 3-5 p.m. en el salón 13.

6th grade Olympics of Respect
To encourage our sixth grade students to become more responsible citizens, Mrs.
Zukowski, Mr. Orvedahl, and Mr. Tahara have implemented The Olympics of Respect. Every group begins each week with 500 points and points are then deducted
for the following infractions: chewing gum, returning late from recess, being offtask, not being prepared (materials and homework), not taking notes or participating in class, etc. The students can also earn points for participating in class, helping
others, completing their homework (the entire class must complete their homework
to earn points), putting forth their best effort, etc. The weekly winner receives a
snack, is excluded from our Wednesday P.E. laps around the soccer field, and enjoys
some sort of reward such as extra recess or Xbox 360 Kinect time. The Weekly rewards vary from week to week. However, at the end of the month, the group with
the highest cumulative points receives a star that gives their group a chance to earn
field trip at the end of the year.
Olimpiadas de Respeto
Para motivar a nuestros estudiantes a ser mas responsables, la Sra. Zukowski, Sr.
Orvedahl y Sr. Tahara han implementado las Olimpiadas de respeto. Cada grupo de
estudiantes comienza con 500 puntos y puntos son disminuidos por las siguiente
infracciones: mascar chicle, regresar tarde a clases, no poner atención en clase, no
llegar preparado a clase, no tomar notas en clase y no participar. Los estudiantes
pueden incrementar puntos por: participar en clase, seguir todas las reglas de la
escuela, poner su mejor esfuerzo, etc. El grupo que tenga mas puntos al final de la
semana recibe un premio pequeño. Los premios varean semana con semana. Al fin
de mes, el grupo con mas puntos recibe una estrella que permite que su equipo valla
a un paseo al fin de ano.
