We don’t know what lies in the future...so we live this commitment now, “not “later,” not “after,” not “until.” God’s Spirit will help us face any difficulty that comes our way. Take time to refresh the life of the spirit that has been given you. Then witness your faith like disciples and believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my prayers for you and for your dear ones. May the good Lord bless you with wisdom and peace. Please pray for me. In Christ, Msgr. Pablo A. Navarro “Yes, I am happy, perfectly happy; and do you wish to know where I find true happiness? BEAUTIFUL MERCY Blessed be the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4 Comfort the Afflicted Everybody is going through something. Sometimes they need a hug. Sometimes they just need someone to listen. Sometimes they need a shoulder to cry on. Will you be that friend? Comfort, comfort my people, says your God” (Isaiah 40:1). These words aren’t just for our priests and parish staff. They are spoken to you and to me. God promises in Isaiah 43:1-2, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. When you pass through waters I will be with you and through rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” One of the ways that God fulfills this promise to his people is through the hands and hearts of his children. He understands that while His presence makes all the difference, we also need a human hand to grasp a hold of. We need to see eyes that understand and don’t judge. What a privilege it is that he trusts and calls us to be a part of this ministry of comfort.
