Welcome to our Parish
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
On the First Friday of each month we gather in prayer and praise before the
Blessed Sacrament. Following the 8 a.m. Mass and concluding at 10 p.m.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Parents of infants requesting information about Baptism may contact the
parish office. Infant baptisms are celebrated on the second Saturday of the
month.

In the first reading, the prophet Amos rages against all
those whose greed is so great that they would close
their eyes and hearts to the needs of the poor among
them. To make a buck is one thing, Amos is saying. To
make it on the backs of the helpless is quite another.
In the second reading, Paul reminds us of our charge and duty to pray. He issues a

Religious Education
REGISTRATION FOR FALL CLASSES
JESUS WANTS YOU!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We are in need of Children’s Dismissal Leaders
during the 9:00 a.m. mass and classroom aides for
our Religious Education program. If you would like
to share your love for God and our faith with the
children of our parish please contact Gina at 4949701 ext. 119. I am happy to work with you and
provide you with lessons plans and ideas for your
class. It is a very joyous and rewarding ministry to
work with our children.
Registration for the 2013-2014 Religious Education classes is still open. New families who want
to register their children can come to the parish office Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
or you may call for a registration packet to be emailed to you. You must have a copy of your
child’s Baptism certificate to register them in
our classes. Our Elementary Religious Education classes are on Tuesday evenings from 6:307:30 p.m. for grades 1st through 8th and are held at
St. Catherine’s School. Our Confirmation preparation classes are twice a month on Sundays from
4:00 – 6:30 p.m. and are held at St. Catherine’s
Church. Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation begins in the 9th grade. It is important that
you are a registered member of St. Catherine’s Parish. If you have any questions please call our Religious Education Director, Gina Stewart at 4949701 ext. 119.

Simplifying the World of Medicare: George Paganos will be hos ng two free Medicare seminars on
Wednesday, October 9, at St. Timothy’s in Laguna Niguel. Seminar topics will include:
— an overview of Medicare and Medicare health plan op ons
— changes for the 2013/2014 enrollment season
— the impact of the new Affordable Care Act on Medicare benefits.
This seminar will provide valuable informa on and counsel for anyone enrolling in Medicare for the first
me or for anyone who needs to know more about Medicare op ons. There are two opƟons for aƩendance; a morning session will be held in the hall from 9:30 to 11:00 am., or an evening session will meet in

“Living Our Faith, Walking in Hope”
REGISTRATION NOW: Catechists, lay ministers, parish leaders and parishioners are welcome to attend the annual Diocesan Ministries Celebration
(DMC) at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Saturday, October 5, 2013.
This educational and enriching experience is open to all people interested in
learning more about our faith. Workshops will be offered in English, Spanish,
and Vietnamese for adults. We will be offering a special session for teens
between the ages of 14-18 years old. Brochure and Registration can be

Saint Catherine’s Back to School Family
BBQ was for the first time celebrated on the
“New” School grounds. It took place last
Saturday and proved to be a wonderful
event for St. Catherine’s students, families
and faculty in attendance. Families gathered
on the field where in addition to the
beautiful setting, everyone was able to enjoy
delicious food, games, and the great
company of our new and returning families.

PROGRAMA DE EDUCACIÓN RELIGIOSA
REGISTRACIONES DEL AÑO ESCOLAR 2013-2014
Me gustaría darles la oportunidad de registrar a sus niños/as temprano para el año escolar 2013-2014. Inscripciónes para los niños en el Programa de Educación Religiosa serán aceptadas el 1 de julio – 31 de agosto. Los padres de los niños que vinieron el año pasado van a recibir un paquete de registracion por correo.

Preparan para el Bautismo
La aplicación Bautismal debe ser completada antes de la clase. ¿Quién debe atender la clase? Los padres y
padrinos deben atender una clase de bautismo. Donde debería realizarse el Bautismo: El lugar mas apropiado para bautizar a un niño es en la Iglesia de la parroquia donde los padres atienden Misa y son registrados.
Bautismo: Nuestros bautismos de infantes son programados mensualmente el cuarto domingo de cada mes
durante la misa de 1:30. Los padres deben ser miembros de la parroquia de Santa Catalina y los padres necesitan venir a la oficina de la parroquia para la aplicación Bautismal.
