FR. NESTORIO FOR HIS VACATION: Fr Nestorio is
planning to have his annual vacation beginning from
August 10, 2016. He will be traveling to Uganda and
returns the second week of September. Let us include
father in our prayers that he may have a restful vacation
and that he may have a safe trip to and from home.
THANKS TO THE YOUTHS AND ENGLISH ROSARY
GROUP: This is to thank St. Angela Merici Youth Group
who organized a trip and out of the trip gave a very
generous donation to our Church. May St. Charles Lwanga
Patron of the Youth continue to intercede for you. Also, we
thank the English Rosary Group for their donation . Amen.

ST. ANGELA MERICI SCHOOL REGISTRATION: St.
Angela Merici School is now accepting applications for
2016-2017 school year grades 1-6. Financial assistance
available. For more information please call 718-293-3365.
INDIVIDUAL OR DEVOTIONAL GROUP EVENTS IN THE
PARISH: Individuals or parish group leaders who wish to
organize suitable events in the parish should do so in a
timely manner. We please encourage you to schedule
meetings with the pastor Fr Nestorio to determine the
viability of such events. Thank you so much for your
understanding.
REGISTRATION FOR CCD: We have begun our annual
Registration of children and Adults who wish to join our
religious education classes CCD to receive any of the
sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Holy Communion and
confirmation. To register for Baptism classes one must
come with his/her own Birth Certificate. To register for
Holy Communion classes one has to bring his/her own
Baptism Certificate. Those for confirmation classes must
bring both Baptism and communion certificates.
2016
Registration is done in our parish office during week days
from 9:30 to 4:00pm and every Saturday from 10:00am to
12:30pm. However Our CCD forms are provided at the
back of the Church for all Children and Adults who wish to
join our Religious education program (CCD). Each student
has to bring a contribution of $50.00. Classes will begin on
September 3rd 2016. For more information call

MISSONARY COOPERATIVE ANNUAL APPEAL: Every
year, Archdiocese of New York invites a representative
from a particular Religious Community to speak at all
weekend masses on the importance of supporting Church
Missions in the world with prayers and donations. This
year COMBONI MISSIONARIES OF THE SACRED HEART OF
JESUS have been assigned to speak during all the masses in
our church the weekend of July 9-10th, 2016. Fr. Andres
Garcia Chavez a Comboni Missionary was born in
Tecoanapa, Guerrero Mexico. Fr. Andres entered the
Comboni Missionaries in 1980 and studied at the Instituto
Superior de Estudios Eclesiasticos In Mexico City until
1980. He completed his theological studies at the
Universidad Pontificia de Mexico (1986-1989) from where
he proceeded to the Universitas Ponificia Urbaniana in
Rome. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 6,
1992. Fr. was appointed to work as Assistant priest at
Maria Assunta Parish Acornhoek, diocese of Witbank South
Africa from 1995 to 2004. Later he was appointed as
Parish Priest at St. Augustine, Catholic Church in Silverton,
Pretoria. He returned to Mexico in 2004 where he worked
as Administrator at Cuernavaca Seminary. Since the year
2013 he has been working as Chaplain Moderator at St.
Charles Borromeo (Hispanic Ministry) in Cincinnati,
Ohio. Let us welcome Fr. Andres. The second collection
will go towards supporting the mission of the Comboni
Missionaries, let us be as generous as our means allow.

We are called to love God and our neighbor with all our
strength of our being, as the scholar of the Law answers
Jesus in this week’s Gospel.
This command is nothing remote or mysterious—it's
already written in our hearts, in the book of sacred
Scripture. "You have only to carry it out," Moses says in
this week’s First Reading.
Jesus tells His interrogator the same thing: "Do this and
you will live."The scholar, however, wants to know where
he can draw the line. That's the motive behind his
question: "Who is my neighbor?"
2016
Jesus is "the image of the invisible God," this week’s
Epistle tells us. In Him, the love of God has come very
near to us. By the "blood of His Cross" - by bearing His
neighbors' sufferings in His own body, being himself
stripped and beaten and left for dead—He saved us from
bonds of sin, reconciled us to God and to one another.
Like the Samaritan, He pays the price for us, heals the
wounds of sin, pours out on us the oil and wine of the
sacraments, entrusts us to the care of His Church, until
He comes back for us. Because His love has known no
limits, ours cannot either. We are to love as we have
been loved, to do for others what He has done for us joining all things together in His Body, the Church.
We are to love like the singer of this week’s Psalm—like
those whose prayers have been answered, like those
whose lives have been saved, who have known the time
of His favor, have seen God in His great mercy turn
toward us. This is the love that leads to eternal life, the
love Jesus commands today of the scholar, and of each of
us—"Go and do likewise."

INSCRIPCIÓN PARA EL CCD: Hemos comenzado nuestra
registración anual de los niños y adultos que deseen unirse
a nuestras clases de educación religiosa CCD para recibir
alguno de los sacramentos de la iniciación cristiana:
Bautismo, Comunión y Confirmación. Para inscribirse en las
clases de bautismo debe traer su certificado de
nacimiento. Para inscribirse en las clases de la Sagrada
Comunión tiene que traer su certificado de bautismo.
Para las clases de confirmación debe traer los certificados
del bautismo y de comunión. La inscripción se hace en
nuestra oficina de la parroquia durante los días de semana
9:30-4:00pm y los sábados 10 a.m.-12:30p.m.. Sin embargo
los formularios del CCD están en la parte posterior de la
Iglesia. Cada estudiante debe traer una contribución de
$50.00. Las clases comenzarán el 3 de septiembre 2016.

REUNIRSE EN EL SOTANO DEL CONVENTO: Como
grupos devocionales crecen, también lo hacen sus
necesidades. Nos damos cuenta de lo difícil que a veces se
convierte cuando los miembros se encuentran con algún
problema debido al espacio limitado. Para hacer frente a
este reto, los grupos parroquiales comenzarán a reunirse
en el sótano Convento. Muchas gracias por su
cooperación. Favor dejar todo limpio después de cada
reunión.
La vida es el máximo y único bien que deseamos conservar
por encima del cualquier otro y para siempre. Ahí está el
motivo de la pregunta del maestro de la Ley a Jesús. ¿Qué
hacer para eternizar la propia vida? Y el Maestro le dice la
verdad, sin rodeos, que lo conseguirá amando a Dios por

encima de todo y al prójimo como a sí mismo. Es de justicia
amar a Dios sobre todas las cosas, porque de Él las
recibimos y Él nos la conserva todas, junto con el valor
máximo: la vida. La primera expresión del amor a Dios es
agradecerle, con la palabra y con la vida, sus innumerables
beneficios. Constituye una tremenda injusticia y fatal
ingratitud amar los dones de Dios más que al Dios de los
dones. Además de ser idolatría, que es tan frecuente entre
los que se tienen por creyentes en Dios. Vale la pena
preguntarse con sinceridad y valentía: ¿Soy yo un idólatra?
La gratitud es expresión más genuina del amor a Dios, y
además es la condición para que Dios nos conserve y
multiplique sus dones. Si quieres recibir, agradece y pide.
Por otra parte el amor al prójimo como a sí mismo es
inseparable del amor a Dios, porque el prójimo es mi
hermano al ser hijo del mismo Padre, que lo ama como a
mí. No podemos no amar a quien Dios ama.
Jesús perfeccionará este mandamiento con el ‘nuevo
mandamiento’: “Ámense unos a otros como yo los amo” ;
es decir, hasta dar la vida por quienes se ama, pues “nadie
ama tanto como el que da la vida por los que ama” , como
hizo Jesús.
Solo salva la vida quien la entrega por amor. Puesto que de
todas maneras tenemos que darla, démosla por amor. Vivir
la vida con egoísmo, es perderla para siempre.
El máximo acto de amor al prójimo consiste en ayudarle a
conseguir la vida eterna, que es el máximo don de Dios,
como Jesús nos da a entender: “¿De qué le vale al hombre
ganar todo el mundo, si al final se pierde a sí mismo?”.
Pero este acto de amor salvífico debe reflejarse en gestos
concretos de amor al necesitado.
Con la parábola del buen samaritano, Jesús confirma su
enseñanza sobre lo esencial de la vida cristiana: solamente
podemos llegar a Dios y eternizar en él nuestra vida, si
atendemos al prójimo necesitado, pues en él está Dios
dándonos la oportunidad de ser los portadores de su
compasión y de su amor universal.

Señor Jesucristo, tu has ensenado a ser misericordioso
como el Padre del cielo, y nos has dicho que quien te ve, lo
ve también a El. Muéstranos tu rostro y obtendremos la
salvación. Tu mirada llena de amor libero a Zaqueo y a
Mateo de la esclavitud del dinero; a la adultera y a la
Magdalena de buscar la felicidad solamente en una

el Paraíso al ladrón arrepentido.
Haz que cada uno de nosotros escuche como propia la
palabra que dijiste a la samaritana: Si conocieras el don de
Dios! Tu eres el rostro visible del Padre invisible, del Dios
que manifiesta su omnipotencia sobre todo con el perdón y
la misericordia: haz que, en el mundo, la iglesia sea el rostro
visible de Ti, su Señor, resucitado y glorioso.
Tu has querido que también tus ministros fueran revestidos
de debilidad para que sientan sincera compasión por los
que se encuentran en la ignorancia o en el error: haz quien
se acerque a uno de ellos se sienta esperado, amado y
perdonado por Dios.
Manda tu Espíritu y conságranos a todos con su unción
para que el Jubileo de la Misericordia sea un ano de gracia
del Señor y tu Iglesia pueda, con renovado entusiasmo,
llevar la Buena Nueva a los pobres proclamar la libertad a
los prisioneros y oprimidos y restituir la vista a los ciegos.
Te lo pedimos por intercesión de María, madre de la
Misericordia, a ti que vives y reinas con el Padre y el
Espíritu Santo por los siglos de los siglos. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the
heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you
sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved.
Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being
enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from
seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep
after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant
thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the
words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: “if you knew
the gift of God!”
You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God
who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and
mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its
Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers
would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may
feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: Let
everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and
forgiven by God.
Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its
anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of
Grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed
enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim
liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to
the blind.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of
Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy
Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
