Basketball: District is underway for our girl’s team and our boy’s district will start this Friday. Come out to our

DARE Graduation: Our 6th grade DARE students will have their graduation ceremony today, Monday,
January 9th at 2:30 in the Mustang Room. DARE teaches our students a very important message about the
dangers of drugs and alcohol; we invite parents and family members to come out and join us in this event.
Homecoming Mums: The cheerleaders will be selling Homecoming mums starting today. Two vendors will be
selling mums on behalf of Mumford School. The order forms going home today are for mums ordered through Lacey
Fechner, these forms and money are due by this Friday, Jan 13th. You can also go by Joyce’s Florist shop in Hearne
and order mums there; these must be ordered by Friday, Jan 20th. Homecoming is on Friday, Jan 27th and there will
be a week full of dress up days for all students to participate in and have fun!
Gattitown Trips: Students who had perfect attendance and/or made the ALL “A” honor roll for the
entire 1st semester will be taken to Ghatti town in College Station this week. On Tuesday, Jan. 10th our Pre K – 2nd
grade students will be treated; on Wednesday, Jan. 11th grades 3rd – 7th will be going; and on Thursday, Jan 12th
grades 8 – 12th will be going. Please be sure that your permission forms are turned in, so your children can attend.
Jr’s and Sr’s: On Wednesday, January 11th at 2:15 there will be a presentation for our seniors about ordering
graduation invitations/caps and gowns. At 2:45 the juniors will meet will meet to have a presentation on class rings.
Then on following Wednesday, January 18th at 2:25 (during 8th period) senior students will be placing orders for
invitations/caps/gowns. Jrs will be placing orders for rings from 3:15 – 5:00 that same day. Parents are invited
to attend these meetings on the 18th. All meetings will take place in the computer lab of the main building.
Art Institute Visit: On Thursday, Jan 12th at 2:30 we will have a representative from the Art Institute to talk
with our juniors and seniors about the opportunities this school has to offer students. Any student interested in
learning more about the art institute please attend, it will be in the downstairs computer lab.
Senior Scholarships: There are several senior scholarships that have been posted on the High School
office door. If you are interested in applying come by the office and pick up the information.
Honor Classes: Students in grades 9 - 12th that were in honors 1st semester will automatically be enrolled in
honors for the 2nd semester, if a student wishes to drop an honors class, then a note from a parent is needed to make
that change. The note needs to be brought to Ms. McDonough. Also, if a student wishes to join an honors class for
the 2nd semester but did not take honors for the 1st semester then an honors form needs to be picked up from the
high school office, filled out and returned to Ms. McDonough within the next 3 weeks.
Box Tops for Education: Don’t forget to collect those box tops and send them to school with your child. Box
tops can be found on hundreds of products and the class that brings in the most box tops will be treated to a movie
and popcorn party!!

Yearbook Name CHANGE
All students in grades Pre K – 12th will have their first and last names in the yearbook as it is listed in our data base, unless this slip is
filled out by a parent. For instance: if a students formal first name is Christopher but goes by “Chris” or if a student goes by their
middle name and not their first, parents can fill out this form so that we will know to make the change. Fill this form out and return
by Friday, Jan 20th ONLY IF you would like to make a name change.

Graduación de DARE: Alumnos de nuestra 6º grado del programa DARE tendrán su ceremonia de graduación hoy,
lunes 9 de enero a las 2:30 en la sala Mustang. DARE enseña a nuestros estudiantes un mensaje muy importante sobre
los peligros de las drogas y el alcohol. Invitamos a los padres y familia a salir y a unirse a nosotros en este evento.
Flores de Homecoming: Las cheerleaders empezaran hoy a vender arreglos de flores para Homecoming. Dos
proveedores venderan las flores por parte de la escuela Mumford. Los formas de pedido mandadas hoy a casa hoy son
para las ordenes de flores a través de Fechner Lacey. Estas formas y dinero deben de ser entregadas no mas tarde
del viernes 13 de enero. También pueden ir por la florería Joyce Florist Shop en Hearne y ordenar arreglos ahí. Estas
ordenes tienen que estar puestas no más del viernes enero 20. Homecoming es el viernes enero 27 y habrá una semana
llena de días especiales de disfraces para que todos los estudiantes participen y se diviertan!
Viajes a Gattitown: Estudiantes que tuvieron asistencia perfecta y/o hicieron la Lista de Honor de “A” por todo el 1er
semestre se llevaran a Gattitown en College Station esta semana. El martes 10 de enero nuestros estudiantes de Pre
K al 2º serán llevados. El miércoles 11 de enero grados 3 al 7seran llevados. Y el jueves 12 de enero grados 8 – 12 van a
ir. Por favor asegúrense que sus formas de permiso sean entregadas para que sus niños puedan ir!
Jr’s y Sr’s: El miércoles 11 de enero a las 2:15 habrá una presentación para nuestros seniors sobre pedidos de
invitaciones de graduación y togas y birretes. A las 2:45 los juniors se reunirán para tener una presentación de anillos
de clase. A continuación, el siguiente miércoles, 18 de enero a las 2:25 (durante periodo 8) estudiantes seniors
podrán poner sus pedidos para sus invitaciones, togas, y birretes. Juniors pondrán sus pedidos para anillos de 3:15 –
5:00 ese mismo día. Padres están invitados a asistir a estas reuniones del 18. Todas las reuniones se llevarán a cabo en
el laboratorio de computación del edificio de la High School.
Visita del Instituto de Arte: El jueves, 12 de enero a las 2:30 tendremos un representante del Instituto de Arte
que hablara con nuestros juniors y seniors de las oportunidades que esta escuela ofrece a los estudiantes. Cualquier
estudiante interesado en aprender más sobre el Instituto de Arte por favor asistan. Esta presentación será hecha en
el laboratorio de computación del primer piso.
Becas de Seniors: Hay varias becas para seniors que se han anunciado en la puerta de la Oficina de la High School. Si
estás interesado en aplicar ven a la Oficina y recoger la información.
Clases de Honor: Estudiantes en los grados 9-12 que se encontraban en honores el 1er semestre serán
automáticamente matriculados en honores para el semestre 2º. Si un estudiante desea dejar el programa de honores,
una nota de los padres será necesaria para hacer cambio. La nota debe ser llevada a la Sra. McDonough. Al igual, si un
estudiante desea unirse a una clase de honores para el 2º semestre pero no tenia honores el 1er semestre entonces
una forma de honores necesita ser recogido de la oficina de la HS, completada y regresada a la Sra. McDonough
dentro de las próximas 3 semanas.
Box Tops para Education: No te olvides de recoger los Box Tops y regresarlos a la escuela con sus hijos. Box Tops
pueden encontrarse en cientos de productos y la clase que traiga la mayoría de Box Tops será recompensada con una
fiesta de película y palomitas!!

CAMBIO de Nombre en el Yearbook
Todos los estudiantes en los grados pre-k – 12 tendrán sus nombres y apellidos en el Yearbook como aparecen en
nuestra lista de datos, a menos que esta forma sea llenado por un padre. Por ejemplo: si el nombre formal del
estudiante es Christopher pero pasa por "Chris" o si el alumno va por su segundo nombre y no el primero, los padres
pueden llenar esta forma para que hagamos el cambio. Llene esta forma y regrésela no mas tardar del viernes, enero
20 pero SOLO SI quiere cambiar el nombre
