Fr. Janusz Horowski SVD of Divine Word Missionaries
will be with us on July 23-24 to celebrate the Masses and
speak about the work of the Divine Word Missionaries.
Father Janusz is the Development Director at the Society
of the Divine Word in Techny, Illinois. He is from Tarnow,
Poland and was ordained in 1995. The Divine Word Missionaries are an international religious community of over
6,100 missionary priests and Brothers who serve in 70
countries. Their missionaries serve in some of the most
difficult areas of our world. This mission appeal is part of
the Mission Co-op Program of the Archdiocese. Please be
generous in the second collection to help support the missionary work of the Divine Word Missionaries.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD MEN ( AND
WOMEN)
This is our sixth annual carnival. While we have plenty of
volunteers (over 100) for the Hispanic food booth, and several
Polish-speaking workers, we are in desperate need of Englishspeaking volunteers from the Parish.
We cook 700 to 800 hot dogs and 200 lbs. of Polish Sausage,
as well as Pierogi and other foods. We have the same 6 to 10
people every year who work everyday. We have to depend on
our families, friends and volunteers from the Polish Falcons
from outside the Parish to help us.
This is your Parish. Please help us with this big fundraiser by
giving two hours of your time to your church. If you don’t like
working with food, we have other booths such as selling ride
tickets, bingo, and the spinning wheel game that also needs
help.

Matthew 13:24-43
Tares among Wheat
Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared
to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
"But while his men were sleeping, his enemy
came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. "But
when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. "The slaves of the landowner came and
said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field ? How
then does it have tares ?' "And he said to them, 'An enemy
has done this !' The slaves said to him, 'Do you want us, then,
to go and gather them up?' "But he said, 'No ; for while you
are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with
them. 'Allow both to grow together until the harvest ; and in the
time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the
tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the
wheat into my barn."' "

The Mustard Seed
He presented another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom
of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed
in his field ; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it
is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a
tree, so that THE BIRDS OF THE AIR come and NEST IN ITS
BRANCHES."
There are 5 weeks before we begin our
Parish Carnival and Summer Fest that will
begin on Thursday August 18th so there
is certainly enough time for everyone to
put forth their best effort to sell their raffle
book for the benefit of our parish. Each ticket sells for just
$5.00 and the cost of the entire raffle book is $100.
The Leaven
He spoke another parable to them, "The kingdom of heaven is
like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour
until it was all leavened." All these things Jesus spoke to the
crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a
parable. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the
prophet : "I WILL OPEN MY MOUTH IN PARABLES ; I WILL
UTTER THINGS HIDDEN SINCE THE FOUNDATION OF THE
WORLD."
The Tares Explained
Then He left the crowds and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the
tares of the field." And He said, "The one who sows the good
seed is the Son of Man, and the field is the world ; and as for
the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom ; and the
tares are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy who sowed
them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age ; and
the reapers are angels. "So just as the tares are gathered up
and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. "The
Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out
of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit
lawlessness, and will throw them into the furnace of fire ; in
that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. "Then
THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SHINE FORTH AS THE SUN in the
kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

A Neighborhood Watch Meeting will be held at St. Mary’s
School basement (Makuch Hall) on Tuesday, July 19th at
6:30 PM. Issues pertaining to our neighborhood area will
be discussed. All are invited.

Santa Maria Magdalena (Julio 22)
Jesús les contó esta otra parábola: "El reino de Dios
puede compararse a un hombre que sembró buena
semilla en su campo; pero mientras todos dormían
llegó un enemigo que sembró mala hierba entre el
trigo, y se fue. Cuando creció el trigo y se formó la
espiga, apareció también la mala hierba. Entonces
los labradores fueron a decir al dueño: "Señor, si la
semilla que sembraste en el campo era buena,
¿cómo es que ha salido mala hierba?" El dueño les
dijo: "Un enemigo ha hecho esto." Los labradores le
preguntaron: "¿Quieres que vayamos a arrancar la
mala hierba?" Pero él les dijo: "No, porque al arrancar la mala hierba podéis arrancar también el trigo.
Es mejor dejarlos crecer juntos, hasta la siega; entonces mandaré a los segadores a recoger primero la
mala hierba y atarla en manojos, para quemarla, y
que luego guarden el trigo en mi gramero."
Jesús les contó también esta parábola: "El reino de
Dios se puede comparar a una semilla de mostaza
que un hombre siembra en su campo. Es, sin duda,
la más pequeña de todas las semillas; pero cuando
ha crecido es mayor que las demás plantas del huerto, y llega a ser como un árbol, tan grande que los
pájaros van a anidar entre sus ramas."
También les contó osta parábola: "El reino de Dios
se puede comparar a la levadura que una mujer mezcla con tres medidas de harina para que toda la masa fermente."
Jesús habló de todo esto a la gente por medio de
parábolas, y sin parábolas no les hablaba, para que
se cumpliera lo ue había dicho el Profeta: "Hablaré
por medio de parábolas; diré cosas que han estado
en secreto desde la creación del mundo".
Jesús despidió a la gente y entró en casa. Sus discípulos se le acercaron y le pidieron que les explicara
la parábola de la mala hierba en el campo. Él les respondió:
"El que siembra la buena semilla es el Hijo del hombre, y el campo es el mundo. La buena semilla representa a los que son del reino; la mala hierba, a los
que son del maligno; y el enemigo que sembró la mala hierba es el diablo. La siega representa el fin del
mundo, y los segadores son los ángeles. Así como
se recoge la mala hierba y se la quema en una
hoguera, así sucederá al fin del mundo. El Hijo del
hombre mandará sus ángeles a recoger de su reino a
todos los que hacen pecar a otros y a los que practican el mal. Los arrojarán al horno encendido, donde
llorarán y les rechinarán los dientes. Entonces, aquellos que cumplen lo ordenado por Dios brillarán como
el sol en el reino de su Padre. Los que tengan oídos,
oigan.
Mt 13,24-43
María Magdalena, contemporánea de Jesús de Nazareth, nació en Magdala, identificada con la actual Taricheai, que es una
población en la orilla occidental del mar de Galilea, de allí el
apelativo de “Magdalena”.Ella era una de las mujeres que
“habían sido curadas de espíritus malignos y de enfermedades” por Jesús y que, con los doce apóstoles, acompañaban a
Cristo en su predicación. San Lucas nos dice que Jesucristo
expulsó de María Magdalena “siete demonios” (Lucas 8, 1-2).
María Magdalena fue una de las que acompañó a Jesús camino al Calvario y, luego, permaneció junto a Santa María, la
Madre de Jesús, cerca de la Cruz (Juan 19, 25). Ella, con otras
mujeres, preparó perfumes y ungüentos para ir al sepulcro después del sábado, descubriendo que alguien había quitado la
piedra del sepulcro del Señor (Marcos 16, 1-4; Lucas 24, 1-2).
Fue la primera persona a la que se le aparece Jesús Resucitado (Marcos 16, 9). El Evangelio según San Juan nos narra:
“Estaba María junto al sepulcro fuera llorando. Y mientras lloraba se inclinó hacia el sepulcro, y ve dos ángeles de blanco,
sentados donde había estado el cuerpo de Jesús, uno a la cabecera y otro a los pies. Dícenle ellos: «Mujer, ¿por qué lloras?» Ella les respondió: «Porque se han llevado a mi Señor, y
no sé dónde le han puesto.» Dicho esto, se volvió y vio a Jesús, de pie, pero no sabía que era Jesús. Le dice Jesús:
«Mujer, ¿por qué lloras? ¿A quién buscas?» Ella, pensando
que era el encargado del huerto, le dice: «Señor, si tú lo has
llevado, dime dónde lo has puesto, y yo me lo llevaré.» Jesús
le dice: «María.» Ella se vuelve y le dice en hebreo: «Rabbuní»
- que quiere decir: «Maestro» -. Dícele Jesús: «No me toques,
que todavía no he subido al Padre. Pero vete donde mis hermanos y diles: Subo a mi Padre y vuestro Padre, a mi Dios y
vuestro Dios.» Fue María Magdalena y dijo a los discípulos que
había visto al Señor y que había dicho estas palabras.” (Juan
20, 11-18). Impresiona María Magdalena, valerosa y delicada,
ardiente e intrépida. Emociona su actitud en el Calvario; su
preocupación en la sepultura; el trajín en las primeras horas del
domingo; la queja al “encargado del huerto”... y la maravilla del
encuentro y de la misión que le encomienda el Señor.Así, el
Hijo de Dios le confió a ella, antes que a nadie, la misión de
anunciar a los suyos la alegría pascual de la Resurrección,
convirtiéndose en evangelizadora de los evangelizadores y de
los apóstoles. Recordemos, pues, a María Magdalena como
testigo privilegiado de la Resurrección, la primera en anunciar a
Cristo resucitado, y fiel e intrépida seguidora de su Maestro. No
se tienen datos ciertos sobre su vida después de la venida del
Espíritu Santo en Pentecostés; algunos investigadores dicen
que se fue a vivir a Éfeso con la Virgen María y con San Juan,
donde murió. Otros dicen que se fue a vivir con Lázaro y Marta,
y que fue expulsada con ellos hasta Francia, por la primera
persecución judía de los cristianos, donde vivió, durante treinta
años, una vida piadosa y penitente en una cueva cerca de
Saint Baume, donde finalmente concluyó su carrera en este
mundo.

Jezus opowiedział tłumom tę przypowieść: Królestwo niebieskie podobne jest do człowieka, który
posiał dobre nasienie na swej roli. Lecz gdy ludzie
spali, przyszedł jego nieprzyjaciel, nasiał chwastu
między pszenicę i odszedł. A gdy zboże wyrosło i
wypuściło kłosy, wtedy pojawił się i chwast. Słudzy
gospodarza przyszli i zapytali go: Panie, czy nie posiałeś dobrego nasienia na swej roli? Skąd więc
wziął się na niej chwast? Odpowiedział im: Nieprzyjazny człowiek to sprawił. Rzekli mu słudzy: Chcesz
więc, żebyśmy poszli i zebrali go? A on im odrzekł:
Nie, byście zbierając chwast nie wyrwali razem z
nim i pszenicy. Pozwólcie obojgu róść aż do żniwa;
a w czasie żniwa powiem żeńcom: Zbierzcie najpierw chwast i powiążcie go w snopki na spalenie;
pszenicę zaś zwieźcie do mego spichlerza. Inną przypowieść im powiedział: Królestwo niebieskie podobne jest do ziarnka gorczycy, które ktoś wziął i posiał
na swej roli. Jest ono najmniejsze ze wszystkich nasion, lecz gdy wyrośnie, jest większe od innych jarzyn i staje się drzewem, tak że ptaki przylatują z
powietrza i gnieżdżą się na jego gałęziach. Powiedział im inną przypowieść: Królestwo niebieskie podobne jest do zaczynu, który pewna kobieta wzięła i
włożyła w trzy miary mąki, aż się wszystko zakwasiło. To wszystko mówił Jezus tłumom w przypowieściach, a bez przypowieści nic im nie mówił. Tak
miało się spełnić słowo Proroka: Otworzę usta w
przypowieściach, wypowiem rzeczy ukryte od założenia świata. Wtedy odprawił tłumy i wrócił do domu. Tam przystąpili do Niego uczniowie i prosili
Go: Wyjaśnij nam przypowieść o chwaście! On odpowiedział: Tym, który sieje dobre nasienie, jest Syn
Człowieczy. Rolą jest świat, dobrym nasieniem są
synowie królestwa, chwastem zaś synowie Złego.
Nieprzyjacielem, który posiał chwast, jest diabeł;
żniwem jest koniec świata, a żeńcami są aniołowie.
Jak więc zbiera się chwast i spala ogniem, tak będzie
przy końcu świata. Syn Człowieczy pośle aniołów
swoich: ci zbiorą z Jego królestwa wszystkie zgorszenia i tych, którzy dopuszczają się nieprawości, i
wrzucą ich w piec rozpalony; tam będzie płacz i
zgrzytanie zębów. Wtedy sprawiedliwi jaśnieć będą
jak słońce w królestwie Ojca swego. Kto ma uszy,
niechaj słucha!

Święta Maria Magdalena - 22 lipca
Według biblijnej relacji Maria pochodziła z
Magdali - "wieży ryb" nad Jeziorem Galilejskim, ok. 4 km na północny zachód od Tyberiady. Jezus wyrzucił z niej siedem złych
duchów (Mk 16, 9; Łk 8, 2). Odtąd włącza
się ona do grona Jego słuchaczy i wraz z
innymi niewiastami troszczy się o wędrujących z Nim ludzi.
Po raz drugi wspominają o niej Ewangeliści pisząc, że była
ona obecna podczas ukrzyżowania i śmierci Jezusa (Mk 15,
40; Mt 27, 56; J 19, 25) oraz zdjęcia Go z krzyża i pogrzebu.
Maria Magdalena była jedną z trzech niewiast, które udały się
do grobu, aby namaścić ciało Ukrzyżowanego, ale grób znalazły pusty (J 20, 1). Kiedy Magdalena ujrzała kamień od grobu odwalony, przerażona, że Żydzi zbezcześcili ciało ukochanego Zbawiciela, wyrzucając je z grobu w niewiadome miejsce, pobiegła do Apostołów i powiadomiła ich o tym. Potem
sama ponownie wróciła do grobu Pana Jezusa. Zmartwychwstały Jezus ukazał jej się jako ogrodnik (J 20, 15). Ona
pierwsza powiedziała Apostołom o Chrystusie, że On żyje
(Mk 16, 10; J 20, 18).
Maria Magdalena jest patronką zakonów kobiecych; Prowansji, Sycylii, Neapolu; dzieci, które mają trudności z chodzeniem, fryzjerów, kobiet, osób kuszonych, ogrodników, studentów i więźniów.

Kurs przed Chrztem dziecka
Przypominamy, że w każdą trzecią niedzielę miesiąca w naszej
parafii po Mszy św. o godz.
10.00 odbywa się kurs przygotowujący rodziców i chrzestnych
do chrztu dziecka.
Osoby zamierzające ochrzcić
dziecko w naszej parafii są proszone o zgłoszenie się na ten
kurs prze chrztem dziecka. Dlatego należy pamiętać, aby:
► zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej przynajmniej
półtora miesiąca prze chrztem. (Aby uczestniczyć w
kursie przygotowującym)
► Przy zapisaniu chrztu jest wymagany akt urodzenia
dziecka.

Tak jak w każdą niedzielę tak
również i dzisiaj wychodząc z
kościoła można nabyć nowy
numer Tygodnika Katolickiego
„Niedziela”. Znajdziemy tam
bardzo ciekawe artykuły na temat życia kościoła w Polsce
także naszej Archidiecezji.
Czytając ten tygodnik a także
inne publikacje np.: „Różaniec”,
„Anioł stróż”, „W Naszej Rodzinie”, „Sygnały
Troski” pogłębiamy naszą wiarę oraz miłość do
Boga i Kościoła.
Jest także do wzięcia za darmo gazeta „Katolik”
wydawana przez naszą Archidiecezję Chicago.
