Sunday’s Reflection
Fed By The Lord: Jesus’ words “ This is my body” and “ This
cup is the new covenant in my blood” were only part of his table blessing. Jesus twice said: “Do this in remembrance of
me” (1Cor. 11:24, 25).
This is the good news of today’s solemnity. Like the five
thousand hungry souls, we are fed by our Lord. This is not food
that satisfies for only a short time, until the next meal. It is food
that lasts and changes us. It is food for sharing in much the
same way as Melchizedek did when he brought bread and wine
to the returning Abraham.
As children of God’s reign, we are blessed to be able to
receive and share God’s gift. And we do so in the way most
appropriate to our state in life - as parents, children, husbands,
wives, or religious.

For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to
you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given
thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body that is for

CATECHISTS NEEDED
The Faith Formation Program at our parish is in need
of Catechists. We invite you (parents, teachers, college students….) to consider being God's messenger
to spread the Good News and open the children's
hearts to the Lord. As a person of faith, you can
share your own faith experiences. This can be your
love of God, your gratitude for God's many gifts, and your personal
friendship with Jesus. You could volunteer as a main teacher, assistant,
office helper, or special events. Classes are open on weekends and
weekdays, from Grade 1 through Confirmation.

for an opportune way to participate
in the Year of Mercy called forth by
the Vicar of Christ on earth, and
upon my specific request and application, the Apostolic Penitentiary has
granted the Plenary Indulgences to
those who will be attending my First
Mass as Priest at the 10:30am in
English and Mass of Thanksgiving
at 1:30pm in Vietnamese on June
12th.
What does this mean? Whoever
attends one of these two Masses and
fulfills all the necessary requirements
to prepare themselves for the Plenary
Indulgence will receive it or for a
specific soul of their intention.
The necessary requirements include:
Have the interior disposition of
complete detachment from sin,
even venial sin.
• Have sacramentally confessed their
sins.
• Receive the Holy Eucharist (while
participating in the Holy Mass).
• Pray for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff, the Pope.
