GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
The water utility in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Comisión Municipal de
Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Nuevo Laredo (COMAPA), is planning to
request
certification
from
the
Border
Environment
Cooperation
Commission and possible financing from the North American Development
Bank (NADB), for an environmental infrastructure project that consists
of the first phase of works needed to improve the water and wastewater
systems in the city of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
The project, which is estimated to cost $676 million Mexican pesos,
includes:
-- Relocation, replacement, connection and construction of collectors
-- Construction of pressurized water and wastewater lines
-- Construction of two wastewater treatment plants with 200 lps
capacity
-- Construction of a lift station with 200 lps capacity
-- Installation and rehabilitation of water and wastewater lines and
systems
-- Construction, rehabilitation and reinforcement of tanks
-- Detection and repair of leaks
-- Purchase of electromechanical equipment
COMAPA will carry out international competitive bidding processes
consistent with NADB Procurement Policies and Procedures for the
construction of these works. Participation in these bidding processes
will be open to firms from any country.
Construction of these works is scheduled to begin during the second
quarter of 2004.
