Parent-School Learning Compact
for Ashland Elementary School, 2012-2013
Parent/Guardian: I want my child to achieve therefore I will encourage my child by doing the following:

See that my child attends school regularly and on time.

See that my child complies with the dress code.

Support school staff in maintaining proper discipline.

Set aside a specific time for homework and review it regularly.

Provide a quiet place for study or homework.

Encourage my child's efforts and be available for questions.

Stay interested in and aware of what my child is learning.

Let my child see me read regularly.

Listen to my child read, read to my child or encourage my child to read independently for 20 minutes each night.

Communicate with my child's teacher on a regular basis.

When possible take part in Parents as Partners day.

Attend at least 2 conferences with my child's teacher each year.

Attend at least 3 Family Literacy Night events per year.
Student: It is important that I work to the best of my abilities, therefore I will strive to do the following:

Follow the rules as stated in the Ashland Elementary Discipline Policy.

Comply with the dress code.

Attend school regularly.

Come to school prepared – mentally, physically and with proper materials.

Work cooperatively with my classmates.

Have respect for my classmates, adults, school property and myself.
Instructional Staff: It is important that students achieve, therefore I will strive to do the following:

Provide a means to inform parents of homework assignments (student agendas).

Provide necessary assistance to parents so that they can help with homework assignments.

Encourage students and parents by communicating regularly about student progress.

Contact parents regularly to convey something positive about the student.

Provide high quality instruction in a supportive and non-threatening way.

Provide varied learning opportunities for students to enable them to meet academic expectations.

Hold high expectations for all students, believing that all students can learn.

Make myself and my classroom accessible to parents, encouraging them to visit the school, observe different classes and speak with
various staff members.
Principal: I support this compact for parent involvement, therefore I will strive to do the following:

Provide an environment that provides for positive communication among the teacher, the parent and the student.

Encourage teachers to regularly provide homework assignments that will reinforce classroom instruction.

Encourage parents and the community to be active participants in the learning process.

Support every aspect of this compact noted in all of the other sections.


Vea que mi niño atiende a la escuela regularmente y está el tiempo.

Vea que mi niño se conforma con el código del vestido.

Ayuda personal de la escuela en mantener disciplina apropiada.

Sistema un lado un momento específico para la preparación y la repasa regularmente.

Proporcione un lugar reservado para el estudio o la preparación.

Anime los esfuerzos de mi niño y estén disponibles para las preguntas.

Estancia interesado adentro y enterado de lo que está aprendiendo mi niño.

Dejado mi niño me ve leer regularmente.

Escuche a mi niño lea, lea a mi niño o anime a mi niño que lea independientemente para 20 minuta cada noche.



Personal educacional: Es importante que los estudiantes alcanzan, por lo tanto me esforzaré hacer el siguiente:

Proporcione medios de informar a padres las asignaciones de la preparación (agendas del estudiante).

Proporcione ayuda necesaria a los padres de modo que puedan ayudar con la preparación asignaciones.

Anime estudiantes y padres comunicándose regularmente sobre progreso del estudiante.

Contacto padres regularmente para transportar algo positivo sobre el estudiante.

Proporcione instrucción de la alta calidad de una manera de apoyo y no-amenazadora.

Proporcione oportunidades que aprenden variadas para que estudiantes les permitan satisfacer académico expectativas.

Asimiento altas expectativas para todos los estudiantes, creyendo que todos los estudiantes pueden aprender.

Haga mismo y mi sala de clase accesibles a los padres, animándolos a la visita la escuela, observa diversas clases y habla con el
