Our annual Christmas gift collection for the
Christmas party at the Illinois Rehab Institute
will begin the first weekend of Advent, November 27th and 28th. Tags can be taken
from the tree in the back of the church that
weekend and on December 4th and 5th. Gifts
need to be returned to the church the weekend of December 11th and 12th. Please be
sure to attach the gift tag to your gift so we
know who the gift is for. The party this year
will take place on Monday, December 13th at
the Rehab Institute. Your participation in this
Christmas sharing is greatly appreciated.
From the desk of the Pastor…...
On this Second Sunday of Advent, God invites us to go to a specific place: the desert. In the
Gospel we hear about the people going out to the desert to listen to John the Baptist. God
wants us also to go the desert. Not the desert of Judea, but one much closer: the desert of the
human heart. The desert is a place free from distractions, a place where a person can be alone
with God. Another word for the desert is silence. In silence we meet God and, by meeting him,
we find our true selves….. Silence, time alone without distractions - that's easier said than
done. We are surrounded by noise - by media and advertisements that constantly try to grab
our attention. The holiday season is particularly noisy. Pope Benedict observed: "We are no
longer able to hear God – There are too many frequencies filling our ears."

En este Segundo Domingo Dios nos invita ir a un lugar especial: el desierto. En el Evangelio
escuchamos de la gente yendo al desierto para escuchar a Juan el Bautista. Dios quiere que nosotros tambien vayamos al desierto. No es desierto de Judea sino uno mucho mas cerca: el desierto del corazon humano. El desierto es un lugar libre de distracciones, un lugar donde la
persona esta solo con Dios. Otra palabra por desierto es silencio. En el silencio encontramos a
Dios y, al encontrarlo, descubrir nuestro ser verdadero….. Silencio, tiempo solo sin distracciones - es mas facil decir que hacer. Estamos rodeados de ruido - por los medios de comunicacion que constantemente tratan de agarrar nuestra atencion. Esta temporada de navidad es particularmente ruidoso. El Papa Benedicto observo: "Nuestros corazones están tan llenos de tantos ruidos del mundo que no podemos escuchar esta silenciosa presencia que toca a nuestras
puertas."

Dotknijmy tajemnicy nawrócenia. Nawrócenie dokonuje się w momencie znalezienia kogoś,
dla kogo warto zmobilizować siły, by być dla niego dobrym. Jeśli się to stanie, serce wypełnia
dobroć i rozlewa się nie tylko na tego kogo kocha, lecz na całe otoczenie….. Oto Jan
Chrzciciel zwraca się do nas z wezwaniem „Nawróćcie się... Przygotujcie drogę Panu.
Prostujcie ścieżki dla Niego”. Właśnie dla Niego. Nie dla siebie, ale dla Niego. Innymi słowy
Jan pragnie, byśmy odkryli, że Bóg nas kocha, że przychodzi do nas, by nadać naszemu życiu
pełny sens. On każdego z nas potrzebuje. I tego twórczego, podziwianego przez otoczenie
i tego cierpiącego, zapomnianego, czasem odrzuconego nawet przez najbliższych. Jesteśmy
Bogu potrzebni. Trzeba Mu pomóc„Nawróćcie się” to tyle samo, co zakochajcie się w Bogu.
Gdy serce wypełni miłość, życie stanie się piękne i niezwykle wartościowe.

THE INTERCESSION OF THE SAINTS
Being more closely united to Christ, those who dwell in heaven fix the whole Church more firmly in holiness. They do not cease to
intercede with the Father for us, as they proffer the merits which they acquired on earth through the one mediator between God and
men, Christ Jesus. So by their fraternal concern is our weakness greatly helped.
Communion with the saints. It is not merely by the title of example that we cherish the memory of those in heaven, we seek rather,
that by this devotion to the exercise of fraternal charity the union of the whole Church in the Spirit may be strengthened. Exactly as
Christian communion among our fellow pilgrims brings us closer to Christ, so our communion with the saints joins us to Christ,
from whom as from its fountain and head issues all grace, and the life of the People of God itself.
We worship Christ as God's disciples and imitators, and rightly so because of their matchless devotion towards their king and master. May we also their companions and fellow disciples.

WSTAWIENNICTWO ŚWIĘTYCH
Ponieważ mieszkańcy nieba, będąc głębiej zjednoczeni z Chrystusem, jeszcze mocniej utwierdzają cały Kościół w świętości,
nieustannie wstawiają się za nas u Ojca, ofiarując Mu zasługi, które przez jedynego Pośrednika między Bogiem i ludżmi, Jezusa
Chrystusa, zdobyli na ziemi. Ich przeto troska braterska wspomaga wydatnie słabość naszą.
Komunia ze świętymi. Nie tylko jednak ze względu na sam ich przykład czcimy pamięć mieszkańców nieba, ale bardziej jeszcze
dlatego, żeby umacniała się jedność całego Kościoła w Duchu przez praktykowanie braterskiej miłości. Bo jak wzajemna łączność
chrześcijańska między pielgrzymami prowadzi nas bliżej Chrystusa, tak obcowanie ze świętymi łączy nas z Chrystusem, z którego
niby ze żródła i Głowy, wypływa wszelka łaska i życie Ludu Bożego.
Składamy hołd Chrystusowi w naszej adoracji, gdyż jest Synem Bożym, męczenników zaś kochamy jako uczniów i naśladowców
Pana, a to jest rzeczą słuszną, gdyż w niezrównanym stopniu oddali się oni na służbę swojemu Królowi i Mistrzowi. Obyśmy
również i my mogli stać się ich towarzyszami i współuczniami.

Por el hecho de que los del cielo estan mas intimamente unidos con Cristo, consolidan mas firmemente a toda la Iglesia en la santidad, no dejan de interceder por nosotros ante el Padre. Presentan por medio del unico Mediator entre Dios y los hombres, Cristo
Jesus, los meritos que adquirieron en la tierra. Su solicitud fraterna ayuda, pues mucho a nuestra debilidad.
La comunion con los santos. No veneramos el recuerdo de los del cielo tan solo como modelos nuestros, sino sobre todo, para que
la union de toda la Iglesia en el Espiritu se vea reforzada por la practica del amor fraterno. En efecto, asi como la union entre los
cristianos todavia en camino nos lleva mas cerca de Cristo, asi la comunion con los santos nos une a Cristo, del que mana, como de
Fuente y Cabeza, toda la gracia y la vida del Pueblo de Dios.
Nosotros adoramos a Cristo porque es el Hijo de Dios, en cuanto a los martires, los amamos como discipulos e imitadores del Senor, y es justo, a causa de su devocion incomparable hacia su rey y maestro que podamos nosotros, tambien nosotros, ser sus companeros y sus condiscipulos.
ARCHER HEIGHTS CIVIC ASSOCIATION MEETING
The next general membership meeting of the Archer Heights Civic Association will be held on December 8th, at the UNO School , located at
47th & Kildare, starting at 7:30PM.
This is the last meeting of 2010 and we will have our Annual Cake Auction and raffle.
Our guest speaker will be Alderman Edward Burke from the 14th ward.
Refreshments will be served. As always, all new members are welcome.
After introducing the Thanksgiving theme by reading books, working on projects, and talking about friendship
and sharing, the children prayed and gave thanks for the food they were about to eat. They also asked God to
give something to eat to the children who have no food. Our preschool children (3 and 4 years old), enjoyed a
delicious meal which included turkey, ham, vegetables, and pie. Mr. Gutierrez prepared the meal and some
parents helped serve the food. This is how we celebrated and shared the meal, the same way the American
Indians and the Pilgrims did, in Thanksgiving.
Po przedstawieniu tematu Swieta Dziekczynienia, poprzez czytanie ksiazek, pracy na roznych projektach i
rozmowie z przyjaciolmi, dzieci dziekowaly Bogu za pozywienie, ktore byly przygotowane. Dzieci prosily,
aby Bog obdarzyl chlebem dzieci glodne w calym swiecie.Nasze dzieci przedszkolne majace trzy i cztery lata,
radowaly sie smacznym pozywieniem skladajacym sie z indyka, szynki, jarzyn i owocow. Pan Gutierrez
przygotowal pozywienie i niektorzy Rodzice pomagali je serwowac.W taki sposob celebrowalismy Swieto
Dziekczynienia i dzielilismy sie pozywieniem, w taki sam sposob jak Amerykanscy Indianie to czynili.
Despues de introducir el tema del dia de Accion de Gracias, leyendo libros, trabajando en proyectos, hablando
de amistad y compartir, los ninos rezaron, dieron gracias a Dios por la comida que iban a resibir y tambien
pedian por aquellos ninos que no tienen nada que comer. Nuestros estudiantes de pre-escolar (3 y 4 anos de
edad) disfrutaron una deliciosa comida de pavo, jamon, verduras, y pasteles. El senor Gutierrez preparo la
comida y algunos papas ayudaron a servir. Asi celebramos y compartimos como lo hicieron los Peregrinos y
los Indios de America en el dia de Accion de Gracias.
Moms and Tots
St. Bruno School invites you to join our free playgroup for moms and tots ( age 18 months to 36 months ) on Monday
mornings at 9:00a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the St. Joseph Room. We provide coffee for parents and snacks for the children.
There are plenty of toys, puzzles, and floor mats for the children to play with. Parents/ grandparents are expected to
stay with their children for the two hours. For more information ccall the school at 773-847-0697.

BAPTISM
Please call the rectory to make arrangements. All parents and
godparents are required to register for and attend a Baptismal
Preparation session. English Baptisms are on the first Sunday
after the 9.00AM or 12.15PM Mass. Polish Baptisms are on
the second Sunday after the 10.30AM Mass. Spanish
Baptisms are on the third Sunday after the 2:30 PM Mass.
MARRIAGE Call the rectory to make arrangements at least
8 months in advance. Your date will be confirmed at the first
meeting with priest or deacon. Pre-Cana conferences are
required.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK AND COMMUNION
CALLS
Please call the rectory to have a priest come for the sacrament
of the sick. If you have been hospitalized or are homebound
and wish a Minister of Care to bring you Communion, please
call the rectory.
CONFESSIONS: Thursday 3:00PM - 4:00PM and 5:00 PM
- 6:00 PM, Saturday from 4:00 to 4:45 PM and Weekdays
after the 7:00 AM Mass.

BAUTISMO. Por favor llamar a la rectoria para organizar
bautismo. Los Padres y Padrinos necesitan estar registrados
para classes bautismales. Bautismo son cada tercer domingo a
las 2:30 PM
LAS BODAS. Por favor llamar a la rectoria 8 meses antes de
la boda. Durante la primera reunion con el Padre o Diacono,sera confirmada la fecha de la boda. Necesitan una precana para poder casarse.
SACRAMENTO DE ENFERMOS Y COMUNION. LLamar a la rectoria para desirle al sacerdote que si puede venir.
Si usted esta hospilizado o en la casa y necesita que vaya un
