Being truthful is very important in the Catholic Tradition. The revelation of Truth brings real happiness. It is common knowledge
that our opinions and senses often deceive us because we discern very little. Our ignorance of many silly matters will not be held
against us at the Judgement Day. Many a time we neglect necessary and spiritually profitable things and waste time with undue
concern regarding irrelevant and harmful things. It is true that we have eyes but do not see!
We do not have to worry about any philosophical erudition. One to whom the Eternal Word speaks is free from theorizing. This
Word is the source of all knowledge. Without this word no person understands or judges aright. To ease the heart and remain at
peace with God one has to trace all things to it and see all things in it. Until we become focused on God we are frequently wearied
by many things we hear and read. God is the Truth and we must constantly pray to God to make us one with Him in love
everlasting.
The more recollected we become, the simpler our heart is, the easier we understand sublime things because such a person receives
knowledge from above. When we do all things for the honor of God we will not be distracted by many labors and will become pure,
simple and steadfast. Then the person will enjoy interior peace and will not seek selfish end. Such a prudent person knows that
uncontrolled desires of the heart will give trouble and affliction. A devout person plans things not according to the whims of evil
inclination but according to the dictates of right reason.
Our catholic spiritual tradition encourages us to conquer self, become stronger each day, and advance in virtue. Being truthful is
knowing our limits and remaining open to God the Absolute Truth. Every perfection in this life has some imperfection mixed with
it. Every learning has some darkness attached to it. Humble knowledge of self is surer path to God than ardent pursuit of learning.
We must always prefer a clean conscience and a virtuous life. Mostly people try to become learned rather than live well. We spend
lots of time discussing problems whereas to reduce scandals, evil, and laxity in religious organizations, we must focus on uprooting
vices and implanting virtues. On the day of Judgement we will be asked not what we have learned but what we have done, not how
well we have spoken but how well we have lived.It is very common that famous scholars and personalities are ignored once they are
replaced by new hires. Those who considered themselves as something while in office, now they are seldom remembered. The glory
of the world is very short lived. Many so called smart people perish because of vain worldly knowledge and too little care for serving
God. They are vain in their own conceits because they chose to be great rather than humble. To be great we have to have charity and
humility. To be truly wise we have to look at earthly things as folly that we may gain Christ. One who does God’s will and renounces
one’s own is truly very learned, truthful about oneself and oriented to the Absolute Truth, God.
We must promote this virtuous pursuit in our children. God bless you all.
Sacrament of Baptism—Baptism is a highly sacred event and deserves careful and complete readiness.
Please contact the church office (336-629-0221 to register for the Baptism Preparation Class, which is done on
a regular basis. Parents must be registered and participating members of our parish community.
Sacrament of Marriage
- Couples should contact the Pastor (336-629-0221) at least 6 months prior
to the wedding date for necessary preparation.
Ministry of the Sick— Please call the church office (336-629-0221) to inform us of an illness or hospitalization of a family member. Federal Privacy Law prohibits the hospital from giving room numbers, so we
must have prior knowledge of a patient’s room number before we visit the hospital. The Sacrament of
Anointing is done upon request prior to surgery or a illness.

WOMEN’S MINI RETREAT
Fr.Bob Ferris is going to have a mini retreat for the Women of the
Parish on June 11th from 10 am to 3 pm All women are invited. We
need to have some kind of count so Fr. Bob will know what to prepare for, This retreat is sponsored by the Columbiettes.
We will serve lunch at noon and continue the retreat until
3 pm . There will be sign up sheet near the cry room
door .
Annual Knights of Columbus youth & family

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION
Once the early Christians realized that Christ’s coming in glory was delayed, there was a need to provide for
the governance and everyday needs of the church. The various “orders” within the church carried forward
the apostles’ ministry, but also allowed for a measure of creativity. The sacrament we call “holy orders”
evolved somewhat slowly. At first, it made sense for Christians to use the forms they knew, adapting them to
new situations. Synagogues, for example, were administered by a board of “elders,” translated into Greek as
presbyteros. We know from the Acts of the Apostles that a system of presbyters was a normal feature of
church life from earliest days. They stood in relationship to another order, that of “overseers,” translated
into Greek as episkopos, giving us the English “bishops.” The bishop was the shepherd, the faithful tender of
the flock, one who offered the Eucharist, forgave sins, and maintained the bond of charity.
Just as the deacons were the chief advisers for the charitable life of the church, so were the
presbyters meant to advise the bishop on the spiritual life of the faithful. They were trusted advisers at first, not pastors or priests as we understand those terms today.—Rev. James Field,

Ser honesto es muy importante en la tradición católica. La revelación de la verdad trae la verdadera felicidad. Es de
conocimiento común que nuestras opiniones y los sentidos nos engañan a menudo porque discernimos muy poco.
Nuestra ignorancia de muchas cuestiones tontas, no se llevará a cabo en contra de nosotros en el día del juicio.
Muchas veces descuidamos las cosas necesarias y rentables espiritualmente y perder el tiempo con una preocupación
excesiva con respecto a cosas irrelevantes y perjudiciales. Es cierto que tenemos los ojos, pero no vemos!
No tenemos que preocuparnos acerca de cualquier erudición filosófica. Uno de los que habla la Palabra Eterna está
libre de teorizar. Esta Palabra es la fuente de todo conocimiento. Sin esta palabra ninguna persona entiende o juzga
rectamente. Para aliviar el corazón y permanecer en paz con Dios uno tiene que rastrear todas las cosas a ella y ver
todas las cosas en él. Hasta llegar a ser centrado en Dios con frecuencia se nos cansamos por muchas cosas que
oímos y leemos. Dios es la verdad y hay que orar constantemente a Dios para hacernos uno con Él en el amor eterno.
Cuanto más recolectaron nos volvemos, más simple es nuestro corazón, más fácil entender que las cosas sublimes,
porque tal persona recibe el conocimiento de lo alto. Cuando hacemos todas las cosas por el honor de Dios, no vamos
a distraer con muchos trabajos y se convertirá en pura, simple y firme. A continuación, la persona va a disfrutar de la
paz interior y no buscará fin egoísta. Tal persona prudente sabe que los deseos incontrolados del corazón van a dar
problemas y aflicciones. Una persona devota planea las cosas no de acuerdo a los caprichos de inclinación al mal, pero
de acuerdo con los dictados de la recta razón.
Nuestra tradición espiritual católica nos anima a la conquista de uno mismo, ser más fuerte cada día, y avanzar en la
virtud. Ser honesto es conocer nuestros límites y que permanece abierto a Dios la Verdad Absoluta. Cada perfección en
esta vida tiene alguna imperfección mezclado con él. Cada aprendizaje tiene algo de oscuridad que se le atribuye. humilde conocimiento de uno mismo es más seguro camino para Dios que la búsqueda ardiente de aprendizaje. Siempre
hay que preferir una conciencia limpia y una vida virtuosa. Sobre todo la gente tratan de convertirse aprendido en lugar
de vivir bien. Pasamos mucho tiempo discutiendo problemas mientras que para reducir escándalos, mal, y la laxitud en
las organizaciones religiosas, que debe centrarse en el desarraigo vicios y virtudes del implante. En el día del Juicio
estaremos no se le preguntó lo que hemos aprendido, pero lo que hemos hecho, no lo bien que hemos hablado, pero lo
bien que hemos lived.It es muy común que los académicos y personalidades famosas se pasan por alto una vez que
sean sustituidos por nuevos AVIS. Aquellos que se consideraban como algo mientras que en la oficina, ahora rara vez
son recordados. La gloria del mundo es de muy corta duración. Muchos de los llamados inteligentes personas perecen
debido conocimiento del mundo vano y demasiado poco de cuidado para servir a Dios. Son vanas en su propia opinión,
ya que eligieron para ser grande en lugar de humilde. Ser grande que tenemos que tener caridad y humildad. Para ser
verdaderamente sabia que tenemos que mirar las cosas terrenales como la locura que podamos ganar a Cristo. El que
hace la voluntad de Dios y renuncia a la propia es verdaderamente muy culto, la verdad sobre uno mismo y orientado a
la Verdad Absoluta, Dios.
Debemos promover su persecución virtuoso en nuestros hijos. Dios los bendiga a todos.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
Perú tiene más de 3000 fiestas cada año, normalmente en torno al santo patrón de algún pueblo. La celebración de Corpus
Christi es celebrada en todo el país. Pero es más llamativa en Cusco. Durante el día se escucha el repique de María Angola, la campana más grande de todo Perú, que existe desde el siglo XVI.
La celebración incluye una procesión con quince santos y vírgenes del siglo XVII, que vienen desde sus santuarios hasta la barroca Catedral de Cusco para honrar el Cuerpo de Jesús. Estas imágenes son cargadas por la plaza de armas antes de llegar a la catedral donde se quedarán hasta el octavo día. Según los peruanos los santos y vírgenes pasan las siete noches platicando con el Señor
de los temblores, bromeando y planificando el año que viene para sus parroquias. El último día los santos y vírgenes regresan a sus
santuarios con otra procesión.
Estas dos procesiones nos recuerdan que por mucho que los latinoamericanos amemos y veneremos a
los santos y vírgenes reconocemos que tanto ellos como nosotros están al servicio de Cristo Jesús.—Fray Gilberto
