Once an American had a visitor from England. He wanted to show his guest the marvels of our country, so he
took him to Niagara Falls. “Come,” he said, “I will show you the greatest unused power in the world.” From
above they could appreciate the expanse of the Falls, as they looked from the U.S. to the Canadian side. Then
they went below where the water made a deafening noise. The American explained about the enormous quantity of water and its great force. He had to practically shout into his friends ear as he concluded, “There is the
greatest unused power in the world.”…. The visitor was duly impressed; he had seen nothing like it in his own
country. But then, like a good Englishman, he started to think a little deeper. “Yes,” he said to his American
host, “the power here is great, but there is something much greater. The greatest unused power in the world is
the Holy Spirit of the Living God.” The man has a point…. Today we are celebrating the Feast of the Holy
Spirit, Pentecost Sunday. It reminds us of a power we have barely tapped into. In the readings we see some of
the things which the Holy Spirit makes possible: Communication in a language deeper than words; Inner
peace; Forgiveness of sins; Unity of people who were formerly enemies; Every worthwhile gift; Renewal of
the earth…. This Sunday you and I wish to tap into the power of the Holy Spirit. How our world would
change if we permitted him to enter our hearts!

Resulta que un americano tenía un visitante de Inglaterra. Querría mostrarle las maravillas de este país y lo
llevó para ver la Catarata de Niágara. “Ven,” le dijo, “te mostraré el mayor poder no usado en el mundo.”
Desde arriba podía apreciar la extensión de la Catarata, mirando desde el lado estadounidense hasta Canadá.
Fueron abajo donde el agua hizo un ruido fuerte. El americano explicó sobre la cantidad enorme de agua y su
fuerza. Casi tuvo que gritar cuando concluyó, “Aquí es el mayor poder no usado en el mundo.”….. El visitante fue impresionado; no había algo semejante en su país. Pero, como un buen inglés, pensó un poco más profundamente. “Sí,” le dijo a su huésped, “el poder aquí es grande, pero hay algo mucho mayor. El mayor poder
no usado en el mundo es el Espíritu Santo del Dios Vivo.” El inglés tiene razón…. Hoy estamos celebrando la
Fiesta del Espiritu Santo, Pentecostés. Nos hace recordar un poder que apenas hemos utilizado. En la lecturas
vemos algunas cosas que el Espíritu Santo hace posibles: Comunicación en un lenguaje más profundo que palabras; Paz interior; Perdón de pecados; Unidad de personas que eran enemigos; Todo don valioso; Renovación de la tierra…. Este domingo tu y yo quisiéramos aprovechar del poder del Espíritu Santo.

THE SPIRIT HELPS US
The Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes
with sighs too deep for words. The Holy Spirit, the artisan of God's works, is the master of prayer.
Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba Father.
From the beginning to the end of time, whenever God sends his Son, he always sends his Spirit.
In the fullness of time the Holy Spirit completes in Mary all the preparations for Christ's coming among the People of
Gog. By the action of the Holy Spirit in her, the Father gives the world Emmanuel, God with us.
The Son of God was consecrated as Christ Messiah by the anointing of the Holy Spirit at his Incarnation.
By his Death and his Resurrection, Jesus is constituted in glory as Lord and Christ. From his fullness, he poured out the
Holy Spirit on the apostles and the Church.
The Holy Spirit, whom Christ the head pours out on his members, builds, animates, and sanctifies the Church. She is
the sacrament of the Holy Trinity's communion with men.

DUCH ŚWIĘTY PRZYCHODZI
Duch Święty przychodzi z pomocą naszej słabości. Gdy bowiem nie umiemy się modlid tak jak trzeba, sam Duch Święty
przyczynia się za nami. Duch Święty, sprawca dzieł Bożych, jest Nauczycielem modlitwy.
Na dowód tego, że jestescie synami, Bóg wysłał do serc naszych Ducha Syna swego, który woła Abba, Ojcze.
Od początku aż do wypełnienia czasu Bóg, posyłając swego Syna, posyła zawsze swego Ducha. Ich posłanie jest
wspólne i nierozdzielne.
W pełni czasu Duch Święty wypełnia w Maryi wszystkie przygotowania na przyjście Chrystusa do Ludu Bożego. Przez
działanie w Niej Ducha Świętego Ojciec daje Emanuela "Boga z nami".
Syn Bozy w czasie swego Wcielenia jest konsekrowany na Chrystusa Mesjasza przez namaszczenie Duchem Świętym.
Przez swoją śmierd i Zmartwychwstanie, Jezus zostaje ustanowiony w chwale Panem i Chrystusem. Ze swojej pełni
wylewa On Ducha Świętego na Apostołów i Kosciół.
Duch Święty, którego Chrystus wylewa na swoje członki, buduje, ożywia i uświeca Kościół, będący sakramentem
komunii Trójcy Świętej i ludzi.

EL ESPIRITU VIENE
El Espiritu viene en ayuda de nuestra flaqueza. Pues nosotros no sabemos pedir como conviene; mas el Espiritu mismo intersede por nosotros con gemidos inefables. El Espiritu Santo, artifice de las obras de Dios, es el Maestro de la
oracion.
La prueba de que sois hijos es que Dios ha enviado a nuestros corazones el Espiritu de su Hijo que clama; Abba, Padre.
Desde el comienzo y hasta la consumacion de los tiempos, cuado Dios envia a su Hijo, envia siempre a su Espiritu; la
mission de ambos es conjunta e inseparable.
En la plenitud de los tiempos, el Espiritu Santo realiza en Maria todas las preparaciones para la venida de Cristo al
Pueblo de Dios. Mediante la accion del Espiritu Santo en ella, el Padre da al mundo el Emmanuel, Dios con nosotros.
E Hijo de Dios es cosegrado Cristo Mesias mediante la Uncion del Espiritu Santo en su Encarnacion.
Por su Muerte y su Resureccion, Jesus es constituido Seoor y Cristo en la gloria. De su plenitud, derrrama el Espiritu
Santo sobre los apostoles y la Iglesia.
El Espiritu Santo que Cristo, Cabeza, derrama sobre sus miembros construye, anima y sanctifica a la Iglesia. Ella es el
sacramento de la Comunion de la Santisima Trinidad con los hombres.

BAPTISM
Please call the rectory to make arrangements. All parents and
godparents are required to register for and attend a Baptismal
Preparation session. English Baptisms are on the first Sunday
after the 9.00AM or 12.15PM Mass. Polish Baptisms are on
the second Sunday after the 10.30AM Mass. Spanish
Baptisms are on the third Sunday after the 2:30 PM Mass.
MARRIAGE Call the rectory to make arrangements at least
8 months in advance. Your date will be confirmed at the first
meeting with priest or deacon. Pre-Cana conferences are
required.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK AND COMMUNION
CALLS
Please call the rectory to have a priest come for the sacrament
of the sick. If you have been hospitalized or are homebound
and wish a Minister of Care to bring you Communion, please
call the rectory.
CONFESSIONS: Thursday 3:00PM - 4:00PM and 5:00 PM
- 6:00 PM, Saturday from 4:00 to 4:45 PM and Weekdays
after the 7:00 AM Mass.
