They are developed for simple operation and offer high capacity in silage, hay and straw. Both models offer a host of features including a bale chamber that can be set to operate with three different bale densities zones. 3 Clean up with Massey Ferguson Key to the exceptional in field performance of the MF 400 series balers is an extra wide 2.2m pick-up packed with unique features. High capacity of 2.0 and 2.2m The new designed Massey Ferguson pick-up offers excellent pick-up performance and lifts up even the shortest crop, thanks to the small diameter pickup. The pick-up is designed for high capacity with fast throughput and provides a smooth and even crop flow into the baler. The roller crop press precompresses the crop and helps to even out the flow of crop into the baler. The large diameter roller crop press precompresses the crop and helps to even out the flow of material. It provides a uniform flow 4 of crop into the baler, reducing the risk of blockages and allowing increased intake speeds. to the innovative design of the pick-up driveline which is located inboard of the cam track at either end of the pick-up. Rugged easily adjustable pickup guide wheels are equipped with generous flotation tyres. The unique compact pick-up drive design keeps the wheels within the overall baler width eliminating the need to remove them for transport. This unique design feature means there is no need to remove the pick-up guide wheels for road transport, reducing unproductive time between jobs. Designed for narrow transport width Despite up to 2.2m working width the MF 416V and 418V have a transport width only dependent on road wheel specification thanks 01 Easy adjustable pick-up guide wheels. 02 Large diameter roller crop press. 02 01 5 Fork Feeder or SuperFeed rotor intake All MF 400 models are equipped with a high capacity intake system for maximum throughput in all conditions. A choice of SuperFeed rotor, 14 Knife SuperCut or 25 Knife SuperCut systems ensure there is a model to match individual requirements. Fork Feeder intake for huge capacity The Fork Feeder versions are fitted with a cost efficient fork feeder intake system. This system provides direct feed into the bale chamber, and the wide opening allows almost unrestricted intake capacity for fast and efficient bale start. In addition the fork feeder gives less vibration and reduced power consumption. 6 The fork feeder is provided with a crop press above the pick-up that ensures a regular crop flow even from large bulky swaths. SuperFeed Rotor intake for ultimate capacity Truly impressive intake capacity can be achieved in all conditions with the feed rotor system handling all crop types with ease, whatever the conditions. Drop Floor for easy unblocking The new Massey Ferguson Drop Floor enables the operator to clear blockages easily from the tractor cab without any crop loss. Drop the floor to free the rotor of blockage, engage the PTO to feed the blockage through and close the floor to continue baling. 01 The new Massey Ferguson DropFloor. 02 SuperFeed rotor intake. 03 Fork feeder intake system. 02 01 03 7 Well-shaped dense bales with a moderate core Every crop is different - and with Massey Ferguson Intelligent Density you get to choose what’s best for your crop conditions. Three separate zones each with a choice of diameter and pressure let you perfectly tailor the structure of the bale to your requirements. Silage, hay and straw The bale chamber of the MF 416V and and 418V work well in silage, hay and straw. The two versions offer bale diameters from 0.60m up to 1.65m and 1.85m respectively. The bale diameter is easily adjusted through the control terminal. The bale chamber can be set to operate with 3 different bale densities: soft or moderate cores. The bale density is pre-selected using the control terminal. How the baling Chamber works The MF 400V bale chamber offers a combination of rollers and 5 wide laced belts. This mixed 8 chamber ensures a smooth bale start whatever the intake system, offering smooth bale rotation and reduced crop loss, even in dry conditions. The two aggressive front rollers that come in contact with the crop are constantly cleaned by scraper rollers and are designed to perform well in all conditions. They ensure instant and efficient bale start with every type of crop. The small prechamber at the start of the bale formation ensures well-shaped and dense bales with a moderate core and tight outer layers. As the bale grows, the belt tensioning arm is subjected to steadily increasing resistance from two hydraulic cylinders and a spring tensioner. So as the bale diameter grows, so does the bale’s density. The result is a very firm bale with a moderate core. Straw bales will be more tolerant to poor weather conditions, while silage bales will maintain their shape for improved stacking and easier handling. Diameter 3 Diameter 2 02 The combination of 5 belts and front rollers provides dense bales with a soft core and a easy bale start. 02 01 Diameter (D) and pressure (P) can be adjusted in three stages using the control terminal. Diameter 1 01 Pre-selection of bale density for each zone of the bale: core, mid and edge. Diameter (D) and pressure (P) can be adjusted in three stages using the control terminal. Great looking bales - time after time Massey Ferguson’s front mounted net and twine systems ensure neat and tidy looking bales that are tightly wrapped. This ensures perfect storage and easy handling of the bales. Twine tying Automatic twine tying with the fast acting double tube system means simultaneous binding of both edges of the bale, keeping binding time to a minimum. Over crossing of twines in the centre of the bale provides no loose ends at the end of the binding cycle. The system is fully user programmable to make sure you make the best looking bales in all crop conditions. Net wrap Net is fed right to the outside of the bale, with a specially widened entry channel, which also allows extra wide net types to be utilised if required. The very low loading height and the very easy threading of the system mean minimum downtime and maximum time baling. Storage for three rolls of net means you don’t have to worry about running out of net when the pressure is really on during long working days. 01 04 The simple net wrap system allows the net to extend past the edge of the bale. The 1.30m net is wider than the baling chamber, so that the net can be pulled over the edge of the 1.20m bale. The result is consistent perfectly shaped and tightly secured bales. 10 07 01 Both outside twines fed together. 02 Twine evenly spaced across bale. 03 Twines crossed over in centre -no loose ends. 04 Twin tube fast operating twine binding system. 05 The binding and net roll is positioned in a visible area from the tractor cab. 06 Low loading height for easy change of net roll. 08 Perfectly shaped net bale. 03 05 06 09 The net wrap system allows the net to extent past the edge of the bale. 07 Convenient easy access storage for net and twine for long working days. 02 08 09 11 Control terminal that helps you keep Focus The Focus terminal is easy to learn and very intuitive, with control terminal with focus on functionality and operating simplicity. The Focus terminal is a universal control terminal which can also be used with other implements. The Focus control terminal The Focus terminal gives you full control of all functions from the tractor cab. They are shown on a large, clear digital display.
