Dear Parent/Guardian,
Your child has been working on the educational project, The Hunts Point Slave Burial Ground
(HPSBG) Project (http://hpsbg.weebly.com/). They have been investigating the history of the
neighborhood, a key component of their educational requirements, including the lost burial ground of
area slaves. Their excitement and eagerness has earned them recognition across our city and nation.
Your child has been invited to attend the Remember the Forgotten ceremony hosted by P.S. 48 on
Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. down at Drake Park here in Hunts Point (at the corner of
Hunts Point Avenue and Oakpoint Avenue). Your child will walk down to the ceremony with P.S. 48
teachers with a police escort. Please return the attached permission slip for walking trips in Hunts
Point.
You should be so very proud of the thoughtful work your child has undertaken. We invite you
to join us down at the park for the ceremony!

Esclavos de Hunts Point (http://hpsbg.weebly.com/). Ellos están investigando la historia de la ciudad,
una parte de las obligaciones educativas, incluido el cementerio perdido de los esclavos de Hunts Point.
Su emoción y entusiasmo para el proyecto, les han valido el reconocimiento en toda nuestra ciudad y
nación.
