drain! Toilet paper is designed to break up. Other paper is not! Residential sewer lines are smaller in diameter than
collection system lines and more likely to clog. That can result in a costly plumbing bill for the homeowner. When
the collection system clogs, it can cause sewage to back up, possibly even in streets and homes, and costly repairs
that result in higher rates for everyone.
Sewer System Improvements in Mesquite & Organ
We are just wrapping up a $3 million construction project in Organ that included improvements to the wastewater lagoon and a large-scale project ($8.9
million) in Mesquite that replaced the entire collection system, eliminated the wetlands treatment facility and tied in to the Dona Ana County South
Central Treatment Facility.
The old system in Mesquite included septic tanks with pumps in customers' yards that our Operations staff maintained. The new gravity system
eliminated these, and our operators will no longer be doing any maintenance on residential lines. Repairs to residential lines are the responsibility of the
homeowner.
Our operators have already removed diapers, underwear, t-shirts and legos!! Repairs to the system are costly and continued repairs
will affect the rates you pay.

Nuestros oper adores ya quitaron pañales, ropa interior, camisetas, y jugu etes!! Las reparaciones al s istema
son costosas y r eparaciones continuas afectaran sus tarifas.
