T his aquat ic cent er was creat ed f rom t he old village pool which only worked in t he summer: it is now
ope all year long as it is roof ed now. T o reduce energy consumpt ions, t he principles of bioclimat ic
archit ect ure have been met :
passive pool should receive maximum sun: t he new roof is t ransparent and made

allowing t o benef it f rom t he light and heat of t he sun. T he walls are f ully glazed, of f ering swimmers a
magnif icent view of t he Alps.

and t he luxury of swimming under t he sky Haut es-Alpes wit h views of t he mount ains Champsaur in
wint er and summer.

This aquatic center has been designed by co mbining building perfo rmance (passive building, building insulatio n and beaches
...) and facilities o ffered (co ver po o ls, dehumidified fi thermo dynamics catio n with reco very o f heat), to achieve a gain energy
50 % co mpared to co nventio nal po o l dehumidificatio n o perating with a mo dulatio n o f the fresh air flo w. Perfo rmance
indicato rs co vered were: - 150 0 kWh thermic / m² po o l (thermal blanket) - 150 l / day / bather - 8 50 kWh.electricity / m² po o l
(with natural lighting)
De scripció n de la arquit e ct ura : The passive po o l sho uld receive maximum sunlight. The transparent ro o f made Texlo n
So lar brings the capital element o f passive architecture: mo re light and mo re free so lar gain. It co nsists o f airbags, themselves
co mpo sed o f 3 o r 4 layers o f ETFE. A fully transparent co ver has no t o nly advantages, especially in summer when the sun hits
at an almo st vertical angle. It is therefo re essential to co ntro l so lar gain using active climate co ntro l systems which mo dify the
transmissio n depending o n external co nditio ns and do mestic needs. Similarly, high insulatio n and air sealing to reduce
co ndensatio n and able to implement an efficient system invo lved no t o nly appro priate times. The lo bby is surprisingly
co verage betraying in its to tality the sky and its fully glazed walls o n sunny facades. These two elements are invo lved in
technical cho ices to gether they bring a quality o f remarkable nautical space: luxury to swim under the sky o f the French Alps
with views o f the mo untains Champsaur, in winter and summer.

The interest o f this thermo dynamic dehumidificatio n system thro ugh an abso rptio n chiller:

co mpresso r (base: 50 0 0 to 6 0 0 0 h o perating o n 8 30 0 h per year).
- Refrigerating fluid used matching o f water mixed with lithium bro mure (no nto xic sea salt and
no t rated Kyo to ) while with a co mpressio n so lutio n, uses an Hydro chlo ro fluo ro carbo n
refrigerant who se future is uncertain because o f enviro nmental pro blems that entails.
- No special equipment ro o m o r transfo rmer as co mpressio n so lutio n.

In additio n to the savings o f energy made, the fact o f no t having to use a refrigeratio n but a service technician having been
fo rmed in a few days to realize a rando m empty every 20 0 0 ho urs (appro ximately 3 pro cedures per year ) and reduced
maintenance co sts have co nvinced the Owner.
