Cleaning Instructions
Your lantern is made from quality materials that will last for many, many years with minimum care. You
may want to periodically clean the diffuser, or interior of the fixture using a mild, non-abrasive glass
cleaner and soft cloth. Do NOT use solvents, or cleaners containing abrasive agents. When cleaning
the inside of the fixture, make sure you have the power turned off, and do not spray liquid cleaner
directly onto the bulb, socket, ballast, or wiring.

Detach the suspended diffuser arms from the ceiling
cap. Be careful not to let the diffuser slip out of the
fixture rim.

Remove the defective bulbs from the ballast
sockets. Re-attach the replacement bulbs using
the same steps you following when removing the
old bulb.
Bulb Replacement
Your bulb should last up to 10,000 hours in normal use. When bulb replacement is necessary,
you must replace the bulb with a CFQ26W/G24q 26W compact fluorescent bulb. These bulbs
are readily available at your local home center, and most larger hardware stores.

Shut off main power supply. Allow sufficient time for bulbs to cool properly before
handling.

Re-attach the suspended diffuser arms onto the ceiling cap.

Return Authorization number, and an address where to ship your defective product.

DO NOT USE THIS FIXTURE WITH A DIMMING CIRCUIT. If you presently have dimmer
controls, you will need to remove them, and replace them with regular electrical switches. If you have
a three way dimmer, you will have to replace it with a regular three way switch.
If you are unfamiliar with electrical installations, we recommend you have a qualified electrician do
your installation.

Remove the old fixture. Make yourself a sketch of how
the fixture is wired (index the sketch by wire color) or
mark the wires themselves with masking tape and a
pencil so you will know how to connect the wires to
your new fixture. If several wires are involved,
however, or if the wiring seems more complicated and
perhaps even includes a red wire, take note of the
connections before you disconnect them.

must be directly supported by the building structure.

Weave the electrical cord and the bare copper ground
wire through the remaining chain links. Attach the top
finial loop to the top-most chain link. Make sure the chain
link has been properly and tightly closed to prevent
separation of the link.

Thread the fixture wire, and the bare copper ground wire
through the opening in the top finial loop, and ceiling cap.

Raise the fixture to the ceiling and run the fixture wire and
bare copper ground wire through the center hole of the
mounting bracket. The fixture may be heavy and you may
need to temporarily support the fixture from the mounting
bracket by using a bent piece of coat hanger or other wire
while working on the fixture wiring. Do NOT hang the
fixture in place using the existing fixture wiring.

Connect the fixture wire with the ribbed insulation side to
the white wire of the supply circuit using a wire nut
(included). Connect the smooth insulated side wire to the
black wire of the supply circuit with a wire nut (included).
No loose wire strands, or connections should be
exposed. Secure all wire nut connections with electrical
tape to prevent wire nuts from coming loose.

Using two pair of pliers, attach one of the chain to the
fixture finial loop, adjust the chain length to the length you
need by removing as many chain links from the top of the
chain as necessary to achieve the desired length.

Cut off the excess wire that you have pulled through the
center hole of the cross bar, leaving at LEAST six (6)
inches for electrical connections. Split the fixture wire
into two (2) separate leads, and strip off 1/2” of the
insulation.

Fixture Finial Loop
Secure the mounting bracket to the electrical box using
the existing electrical box screws. Pull the existing supply
wires around the sides of the mounting bracket. Do NOT
pull the supply wires through the center hole of the
mounting bracket.
For safety and proper operation, your fixture must be properly
grounded. If you are unfamiliar with the methods of properly
grounding your fixture, consult a qualified electrician. A copper
ground wire is pre-attached to your fixture pan. If your electrical
box is made of plastic and/or has a green, or bare copper
grounding wire inside, the fixture grounding wire and the
electrical box ground wire should be connected together using
one of the small wire nuts (included). If your electrical box is
made of metal, and the electrical box is already grounded, you
simply secure the bare end of the fixture ground wire to the
crossbar using the green grounding screw on the crossbar.
Pull any excess wire up from the fixture, and through the
center hole of the mounting bracket. Push the excess
supply wires back into the electrical box, or under the
canopy. IMPORTANT: The weight of the fixture MUST be
supported by the chain, NOT the electrical cord. Raise the
ceiling cap up to the mounting bracket, and screw the
threaded nipple of the ceiling cap into the center hole of
the mounting bracket. Hand tighten the finial cap until the
ceiling cap is securely up against the ceiling. Make sure
not to pinch any of the wires under the cap.

Insert the proper 26W compact fluorescent bulbs into the
sockets. (Depending on store where you purchased your
fixture, your fixture may or may not include the bulbs with
the fixture. If you need to purchase a bulb, you will need
to purchase a CFQ26W/G24q 26W compact fluorescent
bulb.) Insert the lamp into the socket, and push the base
fully in until it seats. The lamp base can only go into the
socket one way. If the lamp appears not to fit into the
socket, try rotating the lamp base 90 degrees, and try
again. CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD THE BULB BY THE GLASS
DURING INSERTION OR REMOVAL FROM THE SOCKET TO
PREVENT ACCIDENTAL BREAKAGE! HOLD THE BULB BY THE PLASTIC BASE.

Secure the suspension arms onto the fixture ring by passing
the arms through the holes in the ring and securing the ends
with the decorative ball caps. (Note: If your pendant fixture
has decorative ball accents on the suspension arms, you will
need to slip these over the suspension arms prior to securing
the arms to the diffuser ring. Once the decorative ball
accents are slipped over the arms, you should position the
ball accents at your desired height and secure the balls in
place by tightening the securement screws on the sides of
the balls.)

Position the glass diffuser into the fixture ring. Make sure the
rim of the glass sits flat on the rim of the diffuser ring and is
centered. Carefully raise the suspended diffuser assembly into
place and hook the eyelets on the suspension arms onto the
hooks on the ceiling cap.

Weave the electrical cord and the bare copper ground
wire through the remaining chain links. Attach the top
finial loop to the top-most chain link. Make sure the chain
link has been properly and tightly closed to prevent
separation of the link.

Raise the fixture to the ceiling and run the fixture wire and
bare copper ground wire through the center hole of the
mounting bracket. The fixture may be heavy and you may
need to temporarily support the fixture from the mounting
bracket by using a bent piece of coat hanger or other wire
while working on the fixture wiring. Do NOT hang the
fixture in place using the existing fixture wiring.

Connect the fixture wire with the ribbed insulation side to
the white wire of the supply circuit using a wire nut
(included). Connect the smooth insulated side wire to the
black wire of the supply circuit with a wire nut (included).
No loose wire strands, or connections should be
exposed. Secure all wire nut connections with electrical
tape to prevent wire nuts from coming loose.

Using two pair of pliers, attach one of the chain to the
fixture finial loop, adjust the chain length to the length you
need by removing as many chain links from the top of the
chain as necessary to achieve the desired length.

Cut off the excess wire that you have pulled through the
center hole of the cross bar, leaving at LEAST six (6)
inches for electrical connections. Split the fixture wire
into two (2) separate leads, and strip off 1/2” of the
insulation.

Fixture Finial Loop
Secure the mounting bracket to the electrical box using
the existing electrical box screws. Pull the existing supply
wires around the sides of the mounting bracket. Do NOT
pull the supply wires through the center hole of the
mounting bracket.
For safety and proper operation, your fixture must be properly
grounded. If you are unfamiliar with the methods of properly
grounding your fixture, consult a qualified electrician. A copper
ground wire is pre-attached to your fixture pan. If your electrical
box is made of plastic and/or has a green, or bare copper
grounding wire inside, the fixture grounding wire and the
electrical box ground wire should be connected together using
one of the small wire nuts (included). If your electrical box is
made of metal, and the electrical box is already grounded, you
simply secure the bare end of the fixture ground wire to the
crossbar using the green grounding screw on the crossbar.
Pull any excess wire up from the fixture, and through the
center hole of the mounting bracket. Push the excess
supply wires back into the electrical box, or under the
canopy. IMPORTANT: The weight of the fixture MUST be
supported by the chain, NOT the electrical cord. Raise the
ceiling cap up to the mounting bracket, and screw the
threaded nipple of the ceiling cap into the center hole of
the mounting bracket. Hand tighten the finial cap until the
ceiling cap is securely up against the ceiling. Make sure
not to pinch any of the wires under the cap.

Insert the proper 26W compact fluorescent bulbs into the
sockets. (Depending on store where you purchased your
fixture, your fixture may or may not include the bulbs with
the fixture. If you need to purchase a bulb, you will need
to purchase a CFQ26W/G24q 26W compact fluorescent
bulb.) Insert the lamp into the socket, and push the base
fully in until it seats. The lamp base can only go into the
socket one way. If the lamp appears not to fit into the
socket, try rotating the lamp base 90 degrees, and try
again. CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD THE BULB BY THE GLASS
DURING INSERTION OR REMOVAL FROM THE SOCKET TO
PREVENT ACCIDENTAL BREAKAGE! HOLD THE BULB BY THE PLASTIC BASE.

Secure the suspension arms onto the fixture ring by passing
the arms through the holes in the ring and securing the ends
with the decorative ball caps. (Note: If your pendant fixture
has decorative ball accents on the suspension arms, you will
need to slip these over the suspension arms prior to securing
the arms to the diffuser ring. Once the decorative ball
accents are slipped over the arms, you should position the
ball accents at your desired height and secure the balls in
place by tightening the securement screws on the sides of
the balls.)

Position the glass diffuser into the fixture ring. Make sure the
rim of the glass sits flat on the rim of the diffuser ring and is
centered. Carefully raise the suspended diffuser assembly into
place and hook the eyelets on the suspension arms onto the
hooks on the ceiling cap.

Cleaning Instructions
Your lantern is made from quality materials that will last for many, many years with minimum care. You
may want to periodically clean the diffuser, or interior of the fixture using a mild, non-abrasive glass
cleaner and soft cloth. Do NOT use solvents, or cleaners containing abrasive agents. When cleaning
the inside of the fixture, make sure you have the power turned off, and do not spray liquid cleaner
directly onto the bulb, socket, ballast, or wiring.

Detach the suspended diffuser arms from the ceiling
cap. Be careful not to let the diffuser slip out of the
fixture rim.

Remove the defective bulbs from the ballast
sockets. Re-attach the replacement bulbs using
the same steps you following when removing the
old bulb.
Bulb Replacement
Your bulb should last up to 10,000 hours in normal use. When bulb replacement is necessary,
you must replace the bulb with a CFQ26W/G24q 26W compact fluorescent bulb. These bulbs
are readily available at your local home center, and most larger hardware stores.
