Dear Missionaries of the Pilgrim MTA,
Still immersed in the graces of the Jubilee 2014, we step
into a time of longing and of special graces: Advent and
Christmas. We want to open the doors of our souls for
the arrival of our Lord, the Christ Child. By stepping into a
new time, we, too, prepare ourselves to open our hearts,
our minds and our wills to all that God wants to show us
as new horizons for our apostolate with the Pilgrim MTA.
The year 2015 brings the 100th anniversary of the arrival
of the image of grace of our MTA in the Original Shrine.
In 1935 Father Kentenich referred to April 1915 saying:
The picture was a present from [Father Huggle, a
former Jesuit]. The package arrived and was opened,
and I still know as a fact that the picture was not at all
to our liking at first, but since we had absolutely
nothing else we hung it up. It grew on us because I
carried everything I said into that picture” (P. J.
Kentenich, 1935).
The year 2015 brings us another centennial, the
introduction of the term Capital of Grace into the
language of the seminarians of the founding period in
Schoenstatt. Later on that life developed into the
Schoenstatt Movement.

Todavía sumergidos en las gracias del jubileo 2014, nos
adentramos en una época de anhelo y de gracias
especiales: Adviento y Navidad. Queremos abrir el
camino de nuestras almas para la llegada de Nuestro
Señor, para la llegada del Niño Dios. Al pasar hacia un
tiempo nuevo también nos disponemos a abrir el
corazón, la mente y la voluntad hacia lo que Dios nos
quiere mostrar como nuevos horizontes para el
apostolado con la Mater Peregrina.
El año 2015 nos trae el centenario de la llegada de la
imagen de la Mater al Santuario Original. En 1935, el
Padre Kentenich relató lo siguiente acerca de abril de
1915:
La imagen fue un regalo del [Padre Huggle, antiguo
Jesuita]. El paquete llegó, y lo abrimos. Todavía lo
recuerdo como un hecho que primero, la imagen no
era de nuestro agrado de ninguna manera, pero
como no teníamos absolutamente ninguna otra
cosa, la colgamos allí. Creció en nosotros porque
todo lo que les decía lo integraba a esta imagen (P. J.
Kentenich, 1935).
El año 2015 también trae consigo el centenario de la

Both anniversaries help us look toward the founder of
Schoenstatt, Father Joseph Kentenich with special
attention. If he would not have allowed himself to be
used as an instrument in the way in which he did, we
would not have the beautiful image of the MTA which we
have, nor would we see such meaning behind our
difficulties in life, due to the Capital of Grace.
Would you allow me to place a challenge before all of
you missionaries and coordinators of particular areas or
states? Would it not be possible for us to make of this
time, a time of increased efforts to concentrate in the
image of the MTA and on the Capital of Grace? After all,
these are the two main elements of our task as “donkeys”
of the MTA.
The image of Mary is the reason for our apostolate. To
carry her! Where to? There, where she shows us that she
wants to go and visit: the streets, homes, parishes,
schools, the sick and homebound. This is the meaning of
our being missionaries of the Pilgrim MTA. What makes
her visit effective? The Capital of Grace! Your daily
commitment to her so that she can continue distributing
her graces and favors from her Shrine, makes our
apostolate quite fruitful. Our joys, sorrows, difficulties,
tasks, achievements and failures which we offer with love
to the Capital of Grace of our Mother and Queen, are the
guarantee that our steps with her image will bear the
fruit of holiness in the lives of the families, the sick
people, the students, or the prisoners we visit. She is the
great missionary, she will work miracles of grace in and
through our efforts. It depends on us and on our
commitment to her image and to her Capital of Grace!
With our hearts filled with the hope of a new Schoenstatt
century, I wish all of you a blessed 2015 and above all a
Christmas filled with the graces to become living images
of the Mother of God, living Capital of Grace!

Ambos aniversarios nos hacen mirar hacia el fundador
de Schoenstatt con especial aprecio. Si él no se hubiese

lo hizo, no tendríamos un cuadro de María tan hermoso,
ni veríamos tanto sentido y significado detrás de las
dificultades por medio del Capital de Gracias.
¿Me permiten hacerles un llamado a todos los
misioneros y coordinadores de área y de estado? ¿No
sería posible hacer de este tiempo, un tiempo de
acrecentada concentración en la imagen de la Mater y
en el Capital de Gracias? Después de todo, estos son los
dos elementos principales de nuestra labor como
“burritos” de la Mater.
La imagen de la Mater es la razón de nuestro
apostolado. ¡Llevar la imagen de la Mater! ¿A dónde?
Allí, donde ella nos muestre que debemos llevarla: a las
calles, a los hogares, a las parroquias, a las escuelas, a
los enfermos. Ese es el sentido de ser misionero de la
Mater Peregrina. ¿Qué hace efectiva cada visita de la
Mater Peregrina? ¡El Capital de Gracias! El compromiso
diario con la Mater para que ella siga regalando gracias
y favores desde el caudal inagotable de gracias de su
Santuario, hace que nuestro apostolado sea fecundo.
Nuestras alegrías, penas, dificultades, tareas, logros y
fracasos, ofrecidos con amor, al Capital de Gracias de
nuestra Madre y Reina, son la garantía de que nuestros
pasos con su imagen darán frutos de santidad en la vida
de las familias, enfermos, estudiantes o confinados que
visitemos. Ella es la gran misionera y ella obrará
milagros de gracias, en y a través de nuestros esfuerzos.
¡Depende de nosotros y de nuestro compromiso con su
imagen y con el Capital de Gracias!
¡Con el corazón lleno de mucha esperanza para un
nuevo siglo Schoenstattiano, les deseo un bendecido
2015 y sobre todo una Navidad llena de gracias
especiales para ser vivas imágenes de María y Capital
de Gracias vivientes!

In Arizona we’ve had a whirlwind of joy since October 4.
Then, on October 12, 2014, we had our Rosary
Celebration and celebrated the 100th anniversary of
Schoenstatt. We are so grateful!
Bishops Olmsted was present and blessed our group.
Steven Guarracino led us, Schoenstatt families with our
Auxiliary Mother Thrice Admirable in the procession at
this occasion. The MTA was seen by over 5,000 who
gathered for the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and
the celebration of the Eucharist.

Dear Missionaries of the Pilgrim MTA,
Queridos misioneros de la Mater Peregrina,
With hearts filled with gratitude, we look back to the
grace-filled time of the jubilee celebration! In different
parts of the world the Schoenstatt Family united in prayer
and jubilation to renew the Covenant of Love with Mary,
as she dwells in her Shrines. From October 16 to October
26, 2014, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the
Schoenstatt Movement in Germany and in Rome.
Con corazones llenos de agradecimiento, miramos hacia los
días tan llenos de gracias y bendiciones que experimentamos
durante las celebraciones del centenario de Schoenstatt. En
diferentes partes del mundo la familia de Schoenstatt se unió
en el corazón de la Mater para renovar la alianza de amor con
María. Desde el 16 hasta el 26 de octubre de 2014, tanto en
Alemania como en Roma, hemos celebrado 100 años de este
don.
For those who were able to either watch the ceremonies
via the means of communication, or who were able to be
physically present in the Original Shrine and in Rome, the
inspirations and impressions were many. We still live out
of them!
Now, the inspirations received should move us with
renewed strength into a new epoch, into a new
Schoenstatt century, and help us face many challenges.
The processions, celebrations, encounters and pilgrimages
made in different parts of the USA during the last weeks,
are a clear witness to the strength gained from these
inspirations. We just have to meet the challenges with
that same renewed spirit.
The national committee of the Schoenstatt Rosary
Campaign, made up of state coordinators, was able to
meet via internet in order to look back to this past year
and to look ahead into 2015. Among the reflections
regarding the past and the future, we see how important
it is to share the ways in which each state, group, area or
parish, gives expression to their love, their commitment,
their faith, indeed, to their Covenant with Mary. The
vastness of our country is a challenge we want to meet
by enriching one another through the means of
communication at our disposal.
This one very important practical point can help us
strengthen our work with the Pilgrim MTA, here in the
USA. Are we ready to meet many more challenges?
The time is now! And, we are the ones the Blessed Mother
wants to use at this point in time!
May the photos and write-ups included in this issue be an
inspiration for everyone to become now more than ever
capable of meeting the challenges of a new time, of a new
epoch. May the graces of the jubilee, the graces of the
Covenant of Love continue to bear fruit in each of us, in all
we do!

Tanto para aquellos que pudieron disfrutar de la transmisión
de estas celebraciones como para aquellos que pudieron estar
físicamente presentes en el Santuario Original y en Roma,
fueron muchas las inspiraciones y las impresiones. ¡Todavía
vivimos de ellas!
Ahora, estas inspiraciones recibidas, deben impulsarnos con
fuerza renovada hacia una nueva época, hacia un nuevo siglo
schoenstattiano, y ayudarnos a enfrentar sus desafíos. Las

compuesto por coordinadores de estado, logró reunirse por
internet para mirar hacia atrás, hacia el año que ha
transcurrido y mirar hacia adelante, hacia el 2015. Entre las
reflexiones acerca del pasado y el futuro, vemos la
importancia que tiene el compartir cómo cada estado, grupo,
área o parroquia, expresa su amor, su compromiso, su fe, en
fin, su alianza de amor con María. La vasta extensión de este
país es un reto que queremos enfrentar enriqueciéndonos
mutuamente, utilizando los medios de comunicación.
Este es uno de los puntos prácticos que más nos ayudará en
nuestro trabajo con la Mater Peregrina aquí en E.E.U.U.
¿Estamos listos para enfrentar este desafío? ¡Esta es la hora!
¡Nosotros somos los que la Mater ha elegido en este momento!
Espero que las fotos y escritos de este ejemplar les sirvan de
inspiración para que ahora, más que nunca, seamos capaces
de enfrentar los desafíos de este tiempo nuevo, de esta nueva

These are the two groups in Our Lady of Angels, in the
Bronx, New York. A Rosary and Novena all on the same
day... This was our way of celebrating the centennial with
them. It was 2 rosaries to cover each single day of the
novena. This was all their idea. I was so touched when
they approached me with this idea. As always, an honor
for me to see how others simply want to open their
hearts and doors to our Mother Thrice Admirable...

In spirit we joined our brothers and sisters in
Schoenstatt at the Original Shrine in Germany and all
over the world as we renewed our Covenant of Love.
Our Covenant spirituality helps us deepen our faith
based on this Covenant of Love with Mary… The
Covenant rite was held immediately after the homily.
Each one brought their personal prayer and their
candle. Prior to the final blessing, all Pilgrim MTA
missionaries were asked to come forward and renew
their commitment. The celebration continued after
that. All those who have made their Covenant were
able to sign their name in the scroll looking page and in
a table cloth provided for that.

Our Holy Cross Parish filled itself with jubilee joy as we
celebrated one hundred years of the founding of the
Schoenstatt Movement. The program consisted in a
pilgrimage, a Rosary with vigil lights and the Holy Mass.

Schoenstatt. El Programa consistió en una Peregrinación, un
Rosario Iluminado y la Santa Misa Jubilar.
For the pilgrimage we obtained the approval from our
Archbishop Albert LeGatt to receive the plenary indulgence
which the Holy Father granted to us in this jubilee year. The
path of 1.2 Km which 103 pilgrims took led us into the
Church after taking the Blessed Mother with us to guide our
steps into a place of mercy, pardon and peace. Inspite of
the windy 6° C temperature we behaved ourselves. We
carried the Auxiliary Pilgrim Mother, guided by the Knights
of Columbus. We had prepared ourselves for this moment
through the sacrament of reconciliation and personal
offerings.
La Peregrinación de la Iglesia Holy Cross a nuestra
Parroquia, se realizó con la aprobación del Arzobispo Albert
LeGatt para obtener las indulgencias que el Sumo Pontífice
concedió por los 100 años de Schoenstatt. En este recorrido
de 1.2 km los 103 peregrinos nos encomendamos a la
compañía de la Virgen María para llegar a un lugar de
gracias, misericordia, de perdón y paz. A pesar de la
temperatura de 6° C con viento, todos nos comportamos.
Cargamos la Imagen de la Mater Peregrina Auxiliar con la
animación de la Rondalla de los Caballeros de Colón.
Caminamos hacia un momento de gracia, ya que nos
habíamos preparado con el Sacramento de la Reconciliación y otros ofrecimientos personales. Espiritualmente
llevamos muchas personas y anhelos en el corazón.
As soon as we arrived in the Church we implored the Holy
Spirit so that we may receive the graces we need to
respond to the call for the new evangelization. With 53 vigil
lights and meditations, we formed the Rosary. With the
participation of some Canadian families we were able to
have a bilingual Rosary and Holy Mass.
Our gratitude to Fr. Jorge Mario for the many hours in the
confessional, so that we could prepare ourselves for such a
moment of grace. Also, our gratitude to all other parish
ministries who with fraternal concern collaborated, too.
Al llegar a nuestra parroquia, la imagen fue recibida con el
“Ave María” - momento emotivo - con la voz de Paco
Fernández. Como Iglesia, pronunciamos las oraciones por
las intenciones del Papa, propias para recibir la indulgencia
plenaria. Alrededor de la imagen de la Mater, como en el
Cenáculo, imploramos su intercesión, para que los dones
del Espíritu Santo se derramaran sobre el Padre Jorge Mario
y nuestra comunidad, para responder a la nueva
evangelización que el Papa nos está exhortando.
Con 53 velitas que fuimos encendiendo, formamos el
Rosario iluminado. Con la participación de algunas familias
canadienses, se logró que tanto el Rosario como la Santa
Misa se hicieran bilingües.
Participando en esta celebración, aprendimos y experimentamos el valor y el regalo de la indulgencia que nuestra
Iglesia Católica pone a nuestro alcance. Definitivamente
nuestros corazones se purifican, dan un paso de
arrepentimiento para acercarnos al corazón de Dios.
Agradecemos al Padre Jorge Mario por facilitarnos y
orientarnos a lograr la obtención de la indulgencia, y su
disposición con horas y horas de Confesión. Gracias también
a los Misioneros de la Campaña del Rosario, y a los
miembros de diferentes pastorales y grupos que
colaboraron con cariño fraterno.

One of the highlights of the
Jubilee celebration was the
renewal of the covenant of love
on the 18th. Due to the large
numbers of people, the
celebration was in the outdoor
arena. At first I was
disappointed. I wanted to be at
the Original Shrine to renew my
Covenant, the shrine was just a
five minute walk away. But the
planning committee did an
amazing job with the big screens
and the live broadcast of the
Original Shrine while we were in
the arena so you still felt like you
were in the shrine.
Then something amazing
happened. A group of young
men began to carry the original
picture of the framed MTA into
the arena. She was placed on a
platform, similar to the
gestatorial chair which would
carry former Popes at large
gatherings. As the MTA picture
entered the arena I found myself
absolutely “struck” by the
significance. While it is true that
“a picture” of the MTA was
entering in the arena, the sensus
fidei (sense of the faithful) told
me different.
Uno de los momentos más
emocionantes de la
celebración jubilar fue
cuando renovamos la
alianza de amor el 18. Dada
la cantidad de personas,
nos reunimos afuera, en las
gradas. Primero, me sentí
un poco descepcionado. Yo
hubiese querido estar en el
Santuario Original para
esto—el Santuario queda a
cinco minutos. Pero, el
comité planificó algo
sorprendente, con los
monitores gigantes que nos
permitían ver lo que sucedía
en el Santuario Original, nos
sentíamos como si estuviésemos en el Santuario.
¡Entonces algo
sorprendente sucedió! Un
grupo de jóvenes trajo la
imagen original de la Mater
entre nosotros allí reunidos.
Ella fue colocada en una
plataforma, como la que
utilizaban antes para cargar
a los pontífices. Al ver la
Mater abrirse camino entre
la gente, quedé impactado
por su significado. Mientras
que es cierto que la imagen
de la Mater se abría
camino, el “sensus fidei”, el
sentido de fiel me decía otra
cosa.
“Then, I recalled thinking,
Is this not the mission of the pilgrim shrine?”
“Entonces, recordé haber pensado:

It felt as if Mary herself, as if Jesus himself, were
entering the arena. The jubilant expressions on
peoples faces, the waving of flags, the music, all
awakened in us that Mary and her Son had come to
be with us, she was present. My wife said, “Wow, it’s
like a celebrity just arrived!”
Sentí que era María misma, era como si Jesús
mismo entrase a las gradas. La expresión de júbilo
en el rostro de todos, el va y ven de las banderas, la
música, todo despertaba en nosotros la conciencia
de que María y su Hijo vinieron a estar entre
nosotros. Se hicieron presentes. Mi esposa me dijo:
“¡Es como si una celebridad hubiese llegado!”
Then I recalled thinking, Is this not the mission of the
pilgrim shrine? Do we walk with that kind of faith
that Mary and her Son truly, yes TRULY, ACCOMPANY
US on our journeys through the streets, to peoples
homes, into our workplaces? Do we really believe
it? I must admit sometimes my faith is lacking,
sometimes I do not carry the MTA, sometimes I’m
afraid to bring her into the public.
Entonces, recordé haber pensado, ‘¿no es esta la
misión que tenemos de llevar el Santuario
Peregrino [, la Mater Peregrina]? ¿No caminamos
con esta fe de que María y su hijo, verdaderamente, sí, verdaderamente nos acompañan en
nuestros viajes por las calles, con la gente, en sus
hogares y lugares de trabajo? ¿Realmente creemos
esto? Debo admitir que muchas veces mi fe me
falla, a veces no llevo la Mater con esta fe. A veces
me da miedo llevarla al público.
This experience convinced me that TRULY, SHE
ACCOMPANIES IN HER PICTURE. SHE IS WITH US,
SHE WALKS WITH US. TRUST HER. ALL I NEED IS THE
COURAGE TO TAKE HER TO THE STREETS. FATHER,
GIVE ME THIS COURAGE!
Esta experiencia me convenció de que María nos
acompaña en su imagen. Ella está con nosotros,
camina con nosotros. ¡Confiemos en ella! Todo lo
que necesito es tener el valor de llevarla a las
calles. ¡Padre, dame el valor!

Just having been in Schoenstatt during those days of
the great celebrations was an outstanding grace.
Sharing these graces with 10,000 Schoenstatters from
all over the world, was indescribable. To be among
those 10,000, who represented a few million brothers
and sisters from so many countries, has been a great
excitement. We know that in Brazil alone, the cradle of
the Rosary Campaign, we were able to reach 200
million people through the TV channels that were
transmitting to Cançao Nova, reaching the farthest
corners with the message of the covenant.
What can I say? When the image of the MTA made its
way among the people in the large arena, various
things came to my mind: this image of Mary was
acquired [in 1915] at an Antique shop in Freiburg, by
one of the professors in Schönstatt. When it came to
town, no one could go to pick it up right away. It was
not quite what the boys expected… But, the MTA
stayed in the little chapel, and soon she won their
hearts, and some years later, she has won the hearts
of millions and millions of people all over the world.
This image, of most humble origins, becomes now for
the whole world, one of the best known and most
beloved images of the Blessed Mother. And, today, on
October 18, 100 years after the first covenant, she
escaped the Original Shrine in order to walk through
our world—thus the symbolic act of her processing
among the pilgrims. Cheers, singing, flags waving, and
tears… Slowly she passed through the different corners
of the arena, amidst the applause of the people, in
order to settle in the hearts of everyone.
Through an immense column of missionaries from all
over the world, today, the Mother Thrice Admirable,
does not want to leave anyone without receiving her
graces. Through me and through you, she will
accomplish it. Together we can help her - in the
Covenant!
Sólo haber estado en Schoenstatt en los días de las
grandes celebraciones del Movimiento, fue una gracia
excepcional. Estar compartiendo estas gracias con
10.000 schoenstattianos venidos de todo el mundo,
fue una experiencia inenarrable. Ser uno de esos
10.000, que representaban a varios millones de
hermanos en tantos países, ha sido una emoción muy
grande. Sabemos que sólo en Brasil, cuna de la
Campaña, de 203 millones de brasileros, 200 millones
fueron alcanzados por innumerables canales de TV
que retransmitían a Cançao Nova, llegando a los
lugares más remotos, llevando el mensaje de Alianza.
Pues bien, cuando avanzaba el cuadro de la Mater en
la inmensa arena del peregrino, me vinieron diversas
ideas a la mente: La imagen de la MTA fue adquirida
en un mercado de pulgas de Friburgo [en 1915], por
un profesor de los muchachos en Schoenstatt. Al llegar
al pueblo, nadie pudo ir a retirarlo inmediatamente.
No era lo que los muchachos esperaban... Pero la
Mater se quedó en la capillita, y pronto se ganó, con
esta imagen, los corazones de los muchachos, y unos
años más tarde, los de millones y millones de personas
en el mundo.
Este cuadro, el del origen más humilde, se trasforma
para el mundo en una de las imágenes más conocidas
y amadas de la Virgen María. Y hoy, 18 de octubre, a
cien años de la primer Alianza, se había escapado del
Santuario Original, para recorrer el mundo, el acto
simbólico del paso a través de los peregrinos.
Ovaciones, cantos, banderas y lágrimas... Lentamente
pasa por diversos rincones de la arena del peregrino,
entro vítores y aplausos, para quedarse en el corazón
de todos.
A través de una columna interminable de misioneros
en todo el mundo, hoy, la Madre Tres Veces
Admirable, no quiere dejar a nadie sin sus gracias. A
través tuyo y mío, lo logrará. Juntos lo lograremos ¡en Alianza!
“In this new epoch we are about to begin, we want to
commit ourselves. We take upon ourselves the concerns
of the recent Synod. We do this especially with regards to
those who live out of their marriage covenant...we want
to work towards building up a new social order, with
preference for the youth and social projects rooted in the
mercy of the Blessed Mother, the servant of Cana of
Galilee and faithful helpmate under the cross.
Yesterday we had our audience with the Holy Father,
Pope Francis. Today we celebrate the Eucharist in his
Basilica. In the audience which he granted us, he
expressed the great hopes he has placed on us, as
members of a movement of renewal, one that radiates
the joy of the gospel, and which also accepts our Lord’s
invitation to go out to all corners of the world so that all
peoples may become his disciples, that they may
encounter Christ, and to untiringly set out to do this
everyday…
The covenant with Jesus and Mary unites us, transforms
us and sends us forth. In our shrine we always implore for
the grace to live a covenant with an apostolic character.
Since its very beginnings we have called ourselves
“Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt.” All the branches of
the Family want to live their vocation with a certain
mission consciousness… Indeed, our mission demands
from us that we become a family rooted in the shrine,
while being at the same time a missionary family, a family
ready to set out with the whole Church. (…)
May God, in this second century of life of our family, grant
us the grace of great fruitfulness in the covenant of love
with our Mother and Queen, forming innumerable
missionary saints, for her glory and that of the whole
Church.”

Closing of Schoenstatt’s Jubilee

“En la nueva etapa de la historia que iniciamos, queremos
comprometernos. Asumimos las preocupaciones del
reciente Sínodo. Nos comprometemos especialmente con
aquellos que viven en alianza conyugal…queremos
trabajar más en la construcción de un nuevo orden social,
favoreciendo la pastoral juvenil y los proyectos sociales
que tienen su raíz en la misericordia de María, la
servidora de Caná de Galilea y la compañera fiel junto a la
Cruz.
Ayer tuvimos el esperado encuentro con nuestro Santo
Padre, el Papa Francisco. Hoy celebramos esta Eucaristía
en su Basílica. En la audiencia que nos concedió nos ha
manifestado la gran esperanza que pone en la entrega de
todos nosotros, como miembros de un movimiento de
renovación que irradia la alegría del Evangelio, y que
acepta la invitación de Jesucristo de salir a todas las
periferias para que los pueblos y todas las personas sean
discípulos suyos, dejarse encontrar por Cristo, de
intentarlo cada día sin descanso…
La alianza con Jesús y con María nos une, nos transforma
y nos envía. Siempre imploramos en el Santuario la gracia
de vivirla como alianza apostólica. Desde el comienzo nos
hemos llamado “Movimiento Apostólico de Schoenstatt”.
Todas las ramas de la Familia quiere vivir su vocación con
conciencia misionera… Realmente nuestra misión nos
pide que seamos una Familia arraigada en el santuario,
pero al mismo tiempo una Familia misionera, una Familia
en salida con toda la Iglesia. (…)
Que este segundo centenario de vida de la Familia, Dios
nos conceda la gracia de otorgar una gran fecundidad a la
alianza de amor con nuestra Madre y Reina, formando
innumerables santos misioneros para gloria suya y bien
de toda la Iglesia.”

of rejection, it is a sign of
the Prophets. The false
prophets were never
rejected, since they told
kings what they wanted to
hear…
A mí me impresionó que el Padre
Superior General de ustedes, o
Director General haya hecho
referencia a la incomprensión que
tuvo que padecer el Padre Kentenich
y al rechazo, ¿no? Ese es signo de
que un cristiano va adelante. Cuando
el Señor le hace pasar la prueba del
rechazo. Porque es el signo de los
Profetas, los falsos profetas nunca
fueron rechazados, porque les decían
a los reyes o a la gente lo que
querían escuchar...
La Iglesia no crece por proselitismo sino por atracción… La
atracción la da el testimonio. Consejo primero: testimonio.
O sea, vivir de tal manera que otros tengan ganas de vivir como
nosotros. Testimonio. (…)
Nosotros no somos salvadores de nadie. Somos transmisores
de alguien que nos salvó a todos. Y eso solamente lo podemos
transmitir si asumimos en nuestra vida en nuestra carne, en
nuestra historia, la vida de ese alguien que se llama Jesús… Sin
testimonio no podés ayudar a ningún joven ni a ningún viejo.
¡A nadie!
The Church does not grow through proselitism, rather through
atraction… The attraction comes from giving witness. First
advice: give witness. That is, live in such a way that others may
want to live like us. Testimony! (…)
We are not the saviors of anyone. We are here to transmit
something about the one who saved us. We are not able to
transmit it, unless we take it upon ourselves into our lives, into
our own history, the life of someone called Jesus… Without
testimony you were be able to help neither the young nor the
old ones. No one!
Dear Brothers and Sisters, if you
have come on pilgrimage on the
occasion of your jubilee to the
Original Shrine here in Schoenstatt
then you will receive the new task
directly from here to go out as Jesus
said with new courage and faith into the world.
Father Kentenich understood and accepted this task
exactly when he tells the members of the
Movement: “Do not run from the world, penetrate
it.”
This means simply do not be afraid to bring the
Gospel to all walks of life. In this way I understand
his call for everyday sanctity that all Schoenstatt
people should not just only honor the one day that
is kept holy for the honor of God. No, they should
live every day like this, in every situation, in every
place. This is why it is good that the Original Shrine
is not only in Schoenstatt but that you have many
daughter shrines, affiliates, as well as the inner
shrine of every person, for there should be no place
that does not come into contact with God. Nothing
and no-one should be left out. Let us freely decide
that God should be a part of our entire life. Invite
Him into all aspects of your lives: Nothing is too
mundane, too small, too difficult or too dark, too
dirty, too hopeless, too broken or too weak that it
cannot to be touched by His healing power.

Queridos hermanos, cuando ustedes
peregrinan a este santuario por su Jubileo,
en ese mismo momento se envía, desde este
lugar, la misión de ir al mundo con un nuevo
entusiasmo y valor renovado, como nos lo
encargó Jesús.
El Padre Kentenich comprendió muy bien esta misión y la
acogió. Cuando él le entrega el programa a los miembros

de su Movimiento: “No abandonar el mundo, sino
penetrarlo”, significa no tener miedo del mundo y poner
en contacto con el Evangelio todas las áreas de la vida.
En el mismo sentido, entiendo su misión de “santidad en
la vida diaria”; los schoenstattianos no sólo tienen que
santificar el día, consagrado expresamente a la
veneración de Dios, sino que tienen que santificar todos
los días, todas las situaciones y todos los lugares en
donde se encuentren. Por eso es bueno que, no sólo haya
un santuario en Schoenstatt y los muchos santuarios
filiales, sino también el santuario interior de cada
corazón. Por lo tanto no debe haber ningún aspecto de la
vida que no esté en contacto con Dios. Nada debe ser
dejado de lado. Permitamos al Señor, con clara
conciencia y libertad, ser parte de todo en nuestra vida.
Invitémoslo a todas las situaciones de nuestra vida: nada
es demasiado cotidiano, nada tan pequeño, nada
demasiado difícil y oscuro, nada tan sucio o inútil,
estropeado o débil que no pueda ser tocado por el poder
sanador del Señor.
El Papa Francisco está convencido de esto, cuando nos
motiva a no tener miedo de ir a las “periferias” de la vida.
Por lo tanto, no hay ningún lugar
que no pueda ser santificado por Dios. Más aún, no hay
ningún lugar que no pueda ser santificado por la
presencia sanadora de Dios.
