Through baptism into Christ, we join with him in having one and the same Father. “Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast” Following tradition, we will be celebrating Our Lady’s Feast by offering 46 rosaries starting October 28th and ending with the final rosary on December 11th in the church. Why 46? It is the symbolic number representing the 46 stars imprinted on her mantel. Rosaries will be offered each day at a different home. Please, join us in this celebration by hosting or attending one of the rosaries! All that is needed is an altar dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe, and our Virgin will travel from home to home. The Rosary starts at 7:00 pm. Mary is waiting for you! For detailed information see one of the volunteers in the narthex or at the parish office! REMEMBERING OUR LOVED ONES By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates the month of November to the Holy Souls in Purgatory, those faithful Christians who have died and gone before us but who still must atone for their sins. The time they spend in Purgatory cleanses them so that they may enter Heaven free from all effects of sin. Praying for the dead, especially for those we have known, is part of Christian charity. Our own prayers and sacrifices can be offered up to relieve their suffering. The parish will offer over 40 Masses this November for all the faithfully departed whose names are written in the Book of Memory located in the Narthex of the church. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to pray for and remember your parents, children, grandparents, family and friends. Envelopes are available for your sacrificial offering to pray for the deceased. Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Parish ¡Misión en Español! Octubre 12-13-14 y 15 ¡Rev. Preschool News Sneak Peek of the Week We will talk about what kind of different feelings we have; the different kinds of families there are and how different each of our friends are. This week will learn about forgiveness. We will emphasize that saying, “I’m sorry,” is only asking for forgiveness. The other half is showing through our actions that we are truly sorry. We must forgive others as God forgives us. Church family leads us to where he lives and Jesus’ plans to make it grow. This week we learn about letter “Ff”. Also we will review the number 4. The virtue: Cooperation share the love, the work, the load and the self control. Entrance Song Communion Songs —————————————–————— Gather Your People ————————————————–—— Taste and See Bob Hurd James E. Moore Refrain: Gather your people, O Lord. Gather your people, O Lord. One bread, one body, one spirit of love. Gather your people O Lord. Draw us forth to the table of life: brothers and sisters, each of us called to walk in your light. We are parts of the body of Christ, needing each other, each of the gifts the spirit provides. No more harm on the mountain of God; swords into plowshares. Free us, O Lord, from hardness of heart. Wash us, Lord, in the waters of life; waters of mercy, waters of hope that flow from your side. Refrain: Taste and see, taste and see the goodness of the Lord. O, taste and see, taste and see the goodness of the Lord, of the Lord. I will bless the Lord at all times. Praise shall always be on my lips; my soul shall glory in the Lord for God has been so good to me. Glorify the Lord with me. Together let us all praise God’s name. I called the Lord who answered me; from all my troubles I was set free. Worship the Lord, all you people. You’ll want for nothing if you ask. Taste and see that the Lord is good; in God we need put all our trust. Psalm 128 Closing Song May the Lord bless us all the days of our lives. ——————————————————— Blest Be the Lord Dan Schutte Offertory Song —————————————————— You Are Mine David Haas Refrain: Do not be afraid, I am with you. I have called you each by name. Come and follow me, I will bring you home; I love you and you are mine. I will come to you in the silence, I will lift you from all your fear. You will hear my voice, I claim you as my choice, be still and know I am here. I am hope for all who are hopeless, I am eyes for all who long to see. In the shadows of the night, I will be your light, come and rest in me. I am strength for all the despairing, healing for the ones who dwell in shame. All the blind will see, the lame will all run free, and all will know my name. I am the word that leads all to freedom, I am the peace the world cannot give. I will call your name, embracing all your pain, stand up, now walk, and live! SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER (For those who are not able to receive Communion at this time) My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. Refrain: Blest be the Lord; blest be the Lord, the God of mercy, the God who saves. I shall not fear the dark of night, nor the arrow that flies by day. You will release me from the nets of all my foes. You will protect me from their wicked hands. Beneath the shadow of his wings I will rejoice to find a dwelling place secure. I need not shrink before the terrors of the night nor stand alone before the light of day. No harm shall come to me, no arrow strike me down, no evil settle in my soul. Prayer to Saint Michael, the Archangel St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. Words and music used with permission. CCLI License #1680760 is printed with copyright permission from OCP Publications, 5536 N.E. Amen.
