THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Circle News
We will have our next reflection on Friday, Sept. 12th , 8PM in
the Chapel right after Eucharistic Adoration. All women are invited to attend and see what our Circle is all about. We are a Circle of friends who meet for a common goal—prayer, reflection
and enrichment. Our group has become very close since its inception in 2007 and provide each other with support, friendship and
fellowship. Our mission is to serve each other and serve the
church. We meet every month on the 2nd Friday at 7PM in the
Chapel.
Seton Circle Retreat
We are planning a one-day retreat on Sat. Oct. 4th. If you are interested in attending, please come to our next reflection meeting
on Sept. 12th for more information. This retreat will be facilitated
by Sr. Gert, Sister of Charity of the Seton Motherhouse in PA.
Spots will be limited, so please reserve early. The cost will be
$12, which will cover breakfast, snack and lunch. For more information regarding our monthly reflection or the retreat, please call

The Respect Life Ministry has begun a Cenacle of Life prayer
group at St. Bernadette. The group will meet to pray the rosary
after the 6:30PM Mass each Tuesday beginning August 26th. A
Cenacle is a prayer group that prays the way the Blessed Mother
and Apostles prayed in the Upper Room, awaiting the Holy Spirit.
There are Cenacles of Life at parishes through the nation. Members dedicate themselves to praying two rosaries (10 mysteries)
together and fasting one day a week on bread and water. Those
who cannot fast on bread and water can offer up a day of fasting
from their favorite thing. The prayer and information is available
on the Respect Life Ministry bulletin board in the church common
area, at www.CenaclesofLife.org, or by calling Joe Lee at 5673823.
The Saturday Folk Choir is looking for an experienced percussionist to join our group. The folk choir sings each Saturday at
the 5PM Mass. We are looking for someone to help with tambourine, shakers, and other light percussion. Please contact Matt
Molesworth at 795-7223 or at the church office if interested.
Children’s Choir will begin practicing again Thursday September 4th from 6:00-6:45PM in the church. The Children’s choir is
open to all children of the parish between the ages of 7-12. We
will sing the first Saturday of each month beginning in October.
Please encourage your child to join this fun and growing ministry.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION dedicated to the Passion, Crucifixion, and Resurrection will be held on every Friday immediately following the 9 AM Communion Service until Benediction
at 7:45 PM in the Chapel. Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board in the Gathering Area. Please join us in an hour of
prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.
Baby Shower for our Spiritually Adopted Child
Baby Shower for our spiritually adopted child is on September
2nd, 7PM in the Social Hall. If you are unable to attend, but wish
to contribute, you may place your gifts in the portable crib that
will be set up in the Commons Area before and after Mass on the
weekends of August 23, 24 & 30,31. The Women’s Guild, Respect
Life Ministry and Birthchoice thank you in advance for your generosity.
Children Liturgy Program is for the 3-5 year olds only. It
is held during a mass. It lasts about 20-30 minutes. Children in the 1st grade and older must stay in mass. Sorry,
but they may not attend with a younger sibling. The lessons
are simple flannel board stories that coordinate with the
mass readings. The lessons are very repetitive. The children love this!
I would love to offer this program at all the masses, English
& Spanish; Saturday & Sundays. To do this I need many
volunteers. Two adults for each mass. Some will need to
be bilingual.
Please , if you will help (“many hands make light work”)
or if you just want more information, come to a meeting
on Sunday, August 24 after the 11:30 mass. THIS PROGRAM WILL ONLY HAPPEN IF YOU HELP.

VIGESIMA PRIMERA SEMANA DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO

AVISOS
DEL PULPITO A SU BANCA……….
DESARROLLO DE UN NIÑO NO NACIDO
Mes 7: Al comenzar este mes ya uso 4 de mis sentidos.
Mis párpados se abren y se cierran, y mis ojos pueden
ver a mi alrededor. Ya tengo sentido del gusto, puedo
toser, bostezar y a veces me da hipo. Ahora reconozco la
voz de mamá. Mi apretón de manos es ahora más fuerte
de lo que será después de que nazca. El cabello me está
creciendo y el vello que me cubre el resto del cuerpo
está desapareciendo. Es durante este tiempo cuando recibiré de mi mamá los anticuerpos que me darán inmunidad contra una amplia variedad de enfermedades.
Recuerde por favor de tener a estos niños no nacidos en
sus pensamientos y oraciones
Vigésimo Primer Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
Es muy común hacer encuestas cuando se acerca el tiempo
de cambiar de gobernantes. Se supone que las personas encuestadas respondan con sinceridad a las propuestas hechas por los
futuros líderes y que así éstas confían que sus deseos, comunicados a través de la encuesta, sean cumplidos para el bien de la
comunidad. Lo que se espera es honestidad y compromiso de
parte de todos.
Lo que Jesús hizo en este pasaje del Evangelio de hoy es
hacer una encuesta a sus discípulos. Y mediante estas cuestiones se vienen una serie de respuestas comprometedoras que ni
el mismo Pedro se imaginaba al contestar a las preguntas de
Jesús. En la primera parte, Jesús hace la siguiente pregunta:
"¿Quién dicen los hombres que es el Hijo del Hombre?" Los
apóstoles le contestan fluidamente y con rapidez lo que han
escuchado de la gente.
Luego viene la pregunta personal: "y ustedes, ¿quién dicen
que soy yo?" El audaz Pedro responde: "Tú eres el Cristo, el
Hijo de Dios vivo". Es fácil hablar de los otros pero para dar la
opinión personal siempre pensamos más de una vez, porque
implica compromiso. En este caso, ¿comprendía acaso Pedro
en ese momento la importancia de su respuesta? ¿Sabía que
estaba señalando al hombre esperado de todos los tiempos? Por
supuesto que no lo supo hasta después de la resurrección de
Jesús.
La lección que Jesús nos da es clara: quiere que seamos cristianos adultos y responsables, que expresemos nuestra fe con
convicción, que la entreguemos a los demás, y que seamos
justos. Abramos el corazón al servicio, cualquiera que sea
nuestra capacidad dentro de la Iglesia. Entonces, para ti,
¿quién es Cristo?

LA SANTA MISA EN LOS CAMPOS
Se les envía una cordial invitación a cada uno de ustedes a
compartir con nosotros los sagrados misterios de la Santa
Misa en campos agrícolas circunvecinos de Angier, Willow Springs and Fuquay Varina. Los días de misa serán
todos los jueves y es celebrada por nuestro querido Padre
Luis. La caravana de autos sale de la plaza de estacionamiento de nuestra parroquia hacia los campos a la 6:45
p.m. Por favor de traer su propia silla portátil.

“Baby Shower” Para Nuestro Niño Adoptado
Marque su calendario para el martes 2 de septiembre:
Nuestra celebración empieza a las 6:30 p.m. con la
Santa Misa, seguida por el “Baby Shower” a las 7: 00
p.m. en el Salón Social de nuestra parroquia. Si no es
posible asistir a las celebraciones, podrá depositar su
regalo antes de la fecha. Espere su invitación (con más
detalles) en el boletín de la iglesia el fin de semana de
17-18 de agosto.
CLASES DE CONFIRMACIÓN:
• Jóvenes en el noveno grado empiezan sus clases de
Confirmación en el primer año. (1 de dos años).
• Jóvenes en el décimo grado continúan sus estudios
de Confirmación en el segundo año, y reciben el
Sacramento en abril de este segundo año.
•
Si tienes cumplidos 14 años de edad puede empezar
tus estudios de Confirmación con el primer año.
•
Es requisito completar el primer año antes de
empezar con el segundo año.
Clases de “R.C.I.A”:
• Si tienes 18 años de edad o mayor y son tus deseos ser
bautizado, recibir la Primera Comunión así como el
Sacramento de Confirmación, debes de asistir a clases
de “R.C.I.A.” las cuales se reúnen los domingos de
1:00 pm.-5:30 p.m. Esta clase se requiere leer y
escribir en español.
•
Si lees y escribes en inglés es posible que prefieras
asistir a la clase de “RCIA” en inglés. Las clases se
reúnen cada martes a las 7:00 p.m. a partir del 9 de
septiembre.
