We tend to use this word quite often during time of need or to describe our relationship with God. I was taught that faith was very important to keep a close relationship with God. I have been blessed at a very young age to feel God’s presence always around me. Sometimes as adults, depending on what is occurring in our lives we either strengthen our faith or we question our faith. We tend to forget how much He loves us and wants only the best for us. Everyone has a different definition of faith. As I prayed and thought deeply of what faith signifies to me, the word surrender comes to my mind. How many times have I said “I have faith that everything will be fine. I will leave it in God’s hands.” But then I turn and worry, have sleepless nights, panic and stress. Where is my faith? It is easier said than done. This year has brought me many trials and tribulations. I have looked down deep inside and realize that I need to surrender it all to Him. I was brought up in a Catholic home. We went to church every Sunday; I was baptized, made my First Communion and my Confirmation. I moved 17 years ago to the apartments next to St. Linus Church from Wyoming. I had just graduated from the University of Wyoming looking for work. I remember feeling alone and scared. So, one day I came to St. Linus Church and prayed quietly. I will never forget the peace I felt when I left and His love surrounding me. I had faith that He would be with me always. Although I have moved from city to city, St. Linus has always been my parish. St. Linus Church has helped me to feel God and know that my faith has grown stronger year by year. One of my favorite quotes from Pope Francis is as follows: “Put on faith. When we prepare a plate of food and we see that it needs salt, we ‘put on’ salt; when it needs oil, then you ‘put on’ oil. To ‘put on’, that is, to place on top of, to pour over. And so it is in our life, dear friends: if we want it to have real meaning and fulfillment, as you want and as you deserve, I say to each one of you, ‘put on faith’, and your life will take on a new flavor, it will have a compass to show the way.” Clase de Virtus- San Lino- Noviembre 14 El entrenamiento de VIRTUS para adultos Protegiendo los Niños” se llevará a cabo en San Lino el día 14 de Noviembre.
