Bubb Recycling will have a truck in the PDC’s Belt Line Road parking lot during the 2016 Used Book
Fair.
Thursday‐Saturday, Feb 11‐13, 10 am – 8 pm
Sunday, Feb 14, 12 noon – 6 pm

If you are interested in serving on the Berkner PTA Executive Board next year, please contact Pam

meeting and 4 regular meetings (at least 3 in evenings). Read about the positions below.
Lloyd V. Berkner PTA Nominating Committee 2016­17 SLATE OF
OFFICERS We, the members of the Lloyd V. Berkner PTA Nominating Committee, offer the following names to
the general body for consideration. These individuals have agreed, if elected, to hold the position
noted during the 2016­2017 school year. Election of the officers will take place at the February 11
regular PTA meeting at 5:45 pm in the Auditorium.

note that the Parent Referral Form is due no later than February 12, 2016 at 4:00
p.m. You may obtain the form by contacting your junior high school counselor for
your current 7th or 8th grade student to request GT services.

CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS!
Need money to help with college expenses? Passionate about litter prevention in your community?
Enter the 2016 Don’t mess with Texas Scholarship Contest for a chance to win a $6,000 grand
prize scholarship or one of two $2,000 scholarship awards!
Sponsored by Forestar, the Don’t mess with Texas Scholarship recognizes the achievements of
high school seniors who have taken a leadership role to prevent litter in their schools and
communities and build awareness of the Don’t mess with Texas initiative. Scholarships are
awarded based on student essays submitted with applications.
Applications must be received by online submission or postmarked by March 26, 2016, midnight
(CST).

Scholarship Opportunity & Sorority Recruitment 101
What are the financial aspects of sorority membership? How
important are references? What is appropriate attire for the
events?
Get answers to these questions and more at the Sorority
Recruitment Forum on Tuesday, February 16, at Christ United
Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road. Hosted by the Plano
Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic (PRAP), the forum will be
held 6:30pm – 8:30pm. The doors open at 6:00pm. Junior
and senior girls and their parents are invited.
An educational session will offer information about sorority
recruitment. In addition, PRAP awards scholarships in May to
graduating seniors from Plano or Richardson high schools.
Applying for the scholarships will be discussed at the forum.
Admission is free.
