Ideal Impact
Christ the Good Shepherd partnered with an energy
savings company a few months ago. The company’s name
is Ideal Impact; www.idealimpactinc.com. Their mission is
to provide $1 billion for Christian ministry. They seek to
make this happen by leveraging their expertise previously
only available to the corporate world and bring it to
Christian ministries. Through systematic analysis they
identify areas that will divert money in energy savings back
to ministry. As a result, a partnership helps increase energy
savings. They believe that the more money they can help
Christian ministries save in energy costs equals more
people that can be reaching for Christ.
It is a relatively young company. Their Chief Executive
Officer is a man who was very successful in the world of
business. However, he experienced a conversion of heart
and decided to use his knowledge and expertise to assist
Christian ministries.
Ideal Impact offered an initial assessment of how much
money they believed they could save CGS in energy
spending and projected that, with their help, we could save
a minimum of 26% in energy costs. Over these past few
months they have been assisting us in analyzing our
patterns of building usage, when we use the most energy
and why. Based on this information, installing smart
thermostats and helping us learn how to better schedule the
usage of our buildings according to the actual need/usage
of the air conditioning units, evaluating our various
buildings, etc. we have already begun to try and think in
more energy efficient terms.
A unique feature of the partnership with Ideal Impact is
that they are truly invested in assisting the ministries to
save money. Therefore, they do all of the manual labor and
installation of equipment up front at their own cost. Then,
as CGS begins to realize savings, they are paid for their
services out of the savings that we actually realize. If we do
not save any money, they do not get paid.
However we do believe that we will save energy costs
and, after our obligation to Ideal Impact is complete, CGS
benefits 100% from the knowledge and financial savings
gained. We are hoping that you will help. You can help by
keeping doors closed, turning lights off if a room is not in
use, cooperating with the staff as they try to efficiently
schedule your meeting or gathering. For example, we do
not want to use the air conditioning and electricity in two
buildings if we only need one.
Very soon, we will be inviting ministry leaders to an
information meeting with representatives from Ideal
Impact so that they can offer a more hands on
explanation. Then these leaders will be able to more
effectively communicate that information to the
various members of their ministries.

Christ the Good Shepherd se asocio una compañía de ahorros
en electricidad hace unos meses. El nombre de la compañía es
Ideal Impact; www.idealimpactinc.com. Su misión es proporcionar

The social ministry office will have some wonderful opportunities in December to help others.
NAM toy bags will be available for pick up later in November. These bags are given to us by Northwest Assistance
Ministry and each bag contains a wish list for an age appropriate child. The bags are filled by our parishioners and taken
to NAM where they are sorted and given to families in our area.
Share Your Blessings at Catholic Charities, located at 2900 Louisiana. They are in need of volunteers to help sort
donations, put together gift bags for children and families, help wrap donated toys and gifts or help to distribute toy/gifts
during their holiday party. Individual, group and family opportunities are available. If you can help during the week of
December 12-19th please contact Karina @ [email protected] or 713.874.6645.
Finally, we will have an opportunity to provide food baskets for approximately 200 families from Holy Name Catholic
Church, our sister parish. Family names will be in the Narthex starting November 28th before and after all Sunday masses
until the names are gone. We will need volunteers to help load the truck Saturday, December 19th and to unload the truck
at Holy Name on Sunday, December 20th. Please watch the bulletin for the dates of these projects. If you have any
questions, please contact Jan in the Parish Social Ministry office.

The CGS Youth Orchestra is starting rehearsals and
looking for new members. Instruments needed: violin,
viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, trumpet, french horn,
trombone. You must be able to read music at the
intermediate level (usually 8th grade or higher). We will
meet in the choir room on Sat., Nov. 21st from 10:30 am
until 12 noon.
