Pastor
Fr. Chuck Dornquast
Parochial Vicar
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Back in November, I mentioned that we would be
converting the four offices behind the altar along the south
Msgr. Laurence E. Higgins,
Our Pastor, Fr. Mike
wall of the church into two small meeting rooms. These
Pastor Emeritus
Fr. Crispin Keating, O.F.M. offices in the early 80s were the main office space for Msgr. Higgins, me and our
parish administrator Polly Murray, but in recent years have had very limited use.
Assisting Priests
Fr. Rock Travnikar, O.F.M. The idea for this project began about a year ago with Fr. Tom when new insurance
Fr. Ramon Hernandez
regulations curtailed our use of the upstairs rooms. I am happy to announce that this
Msgr. Joseph McCahon
project is now complete thanks to some very fine work by our contractors.

As we had before, this new design still allows for a passageway through the
back area of the church to the daily chapel. These new meeting rooms give our
choirs an area to rehearse on Sunday as well as space for a variety of meetings
throughout the week. The full funds for this project had already been set aside in a
special renovation savings account and I am very grateful on behalf of all of us for
the bids that really included generous in-kind donations to the parish for carpeting
from Barney Bernard with Bernard and Associates and for construction from Shaun
Bland.

Sacraments
Baptisms
Presenting a child to receive
the Sacrament of Baptism is a
serious obligation on the part
of the parents and requires a
Faith commitment by being a
practicing Catholic. Parents
are to contact the parish office
at 813-875-4040, Ext. 202
before attending the required
instruction class. Further
information will be given to
you at that time.
Marriages
Call the parish office, 813-8754040 at least six (6) months
before anticipated wedding.
All couples must participate in
the preparation program
mandated by the Diocese after
the assessment process has
been completed and a wedding
date scheduled.
Prayer is essential to our
faith lives and ultimately
connected to our call to
conversion and discipleship.
Our 2016 Annual Pastoral Appeal,
Open the Door to Mercy reminds us to be merciful,
as our Father is merciful. We believe the Holy
Spirit will guide our journey and bestow His
grace upon us as we continue to serve others.
Please keep the success of the APA in your
prayers.
Pray for those who are seeking
fulfillment, that with generous support of the
faithful, they will be brought forth in the light of
God’s unending love.
Marriage Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving
The Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving with
Bishop Robert Lynch honoring couples throughout
the diocese who will celebrate 25, 50 or more years
of marriage during 2016 will take place at the
Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle on Sunday,

Stewardship Report
Almighty Father, we are always mindful of the words of St. Paul in 1
Corinthians 4:7, “What do you possess that you have not received?” We
recognize that all we have is a gift from you and in acknowledgment of
this we desire to give you the first fruits of our lives and not the
leftovers. (Exodus 23:19). As your Catholic disciples we recognize that
we are united with our brothers and sisterss in our Diocese of St.
Petersburg and with your Catholic Church which is “Universal.” Bless
our common effort as we join our Diocese In the “Forward in Faith
Campaign.” Build us into the disciples that you wish us to be. In Jesus’
name we pray. Amen.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
