RCIA Calendar – The October 26 session will be on
Our Heavenly Family: Mary and The Saints led by
Msgr. Scott Marczuk. We will meet in the St. Jerome
room. RCIA meets every Wednesday night starting
at 7:00pm.
Lighthouse Ministry – This weekend, we are
introducing an exciting new ministry here at St.
Stephen, the Augustine Institute Kiosk. In the
narthex, a new kiosk holds a large variety of inspiring
CDs, best-selling Catholics books, informative
booklets, and more! The CDs are audio recordings of
inspiring talks on various topics of Catholic life to
help build up your faith in God and give inspiration in
your life. You will hear the best speakers in the world,
such as Bishop Robert Barron, Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr.
Tim Gray, Dr. Edward Sri, and many more. A
suggested donation of $3.00 for each booklet, $5.00
for each CD, and $10.00 for each book will help to
maintain this ministry and enable us to continue to
bring in new titles every couple of months (this is less
than one-half of the retail price). There is a slot at the
bottom of the kiosk to place your donation.
Mass Intentions – Please come to the parish office if
you would like to schedule a Mass. The Diocese
stipulates that a standard stipend for a Mass
Intention is $10.00.

up as their favorite saints. A prop of some kind will
be useful—for example a stuffed animal for St.
Frances of Assisi to hold or a fishing pole for St.
Andrew. Please email me or sign up in the education
wing if you plan to participate.

Carnival in the Family Life Center. Our theme this
year is Cave Quest—our theme you might remember
from VBS this past summer. Come join us for games,
crafts, contests, raffles and treats.
Parish Council Nominations – It’s time to elect
members of the Parish Council. Are you up to the
task of helping St. Stephen continue to be the
outstanding parish that it is? In January, we will be
having Parish Council elections. It is of vital
importance that we have people who are willing to
serve the parish and have the foresight to take it into
the future. Please feel free to nominate yourself or
someone else (please make sure that the person you
nominate is aware of the nomination). Watch for the
nomination table in the November.
Nominaciones para Consejo Parroquial – Es tiempo
de elegir nuevo miembros al consejo parroquial. Si
Life Teen News – There will be No Bible study this
Wednesday, October 26 as Life Teen will be assisting
with the Fall Carnival. Life Teen should meet in the
Life Teen Office at 4:00pm on Wednesday to assist!
We will resume our regular Bible study schedule on
Wednesday, November 2 at 6:30 in the Bosco House.
Our next Life Night is on October 30, and is
our first community night of the year! It is still a
required night for attendance, but we will be doing
something extra special! Please wear (or bring with
you if you go to Life Teen Mass) your Halloween
costume. There will be a costume contest with prizes
for first and second place! Please keep all costumes
Church appropriate.
Life Teen will be selling Advent Wreathes the
weekend of November 12 and 13 after the Masses. All
proceeds go toward scholarships for Life Teen
students!
St. Stephen Benevolent Society Food Drive (SSBC)
Food Drive Slips were handed out last weekend after
all Masses. This weekend, the food will be collected
at the food pantry building. Someone will be at the
driveway to take your bags as you enter.
Thank you in advance for your generosity in
helping the SSBC serve our community. Appreciation
and blessings to the St. Stephen parish families that
support us by helping us with this wonderful ministry.
Black Bag Collection – In this Sunday’s
Gospel, the tax collector’s prayer allows God to be God
and so allows God to pour mercy into his heart. When
we pray and give alms to the poor, we allow God’s
mercy to be poured into their hearts.
Next weekend, the second collection will be a
‘Black Bag’ collection. Your donation will help the
SSCB bring God’s mercy to your neighbor who is
hungry, hopeless, alone and frightened.
St. Stephen Preschool – Will be having their annual
bread sale the weekend of November 5/6 after Mass.
All types of bread and muffins will be for sale. The
money raised goes directly to help support the
preschool and church. Thank you for your support!
Iglesia San Esteban. Las esperamos!
That Man is You – Come join us Thursday mornings
in the Family Life Center from 6:00-7:30am. This
week’s topic will be “Find God in Yourself.” All men of
the parish are invited and it is never too late to join.
Spiritual Adoption (Five Month Developing Baby) –
Your spiritually adopted weighs over one pound now.
The mother can feel his/her movement now. Before
he/she was too small for her to feel. Although the
baby swam with ease in his/her watery world, he/she
needed to be big and strong enough to kick hard
against the outside wall and dent it – the inside wall
of the uterus had no feeling.
We are mid-way through the pregnancy now.
Your prayers have helped your baby’s mother continue
with her pregnancy and seek the help she needs.
Celebrating the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of
Mercy – Fr. Wade Menezes, CPM, Assistant General
of the Father's of Mercy will be hosting a Mission at
St. Joseph's Tontitown from Sunday, October 30 to
Thursday, November 3 on the Goodness of Divine
Mercy. The Mission is in the Church from 7:00pm to
8:00pm each day. For information contact Paul
Scouten at [email protected] or (479)361-2612.
Year of Mercy – Saturday, Nov. 5 is a special day of
pilgrimage at Our Lady of Good Counsel from 9:00am
to 3:30pm. The House of Formation will be open for
tours and seminarians will serve as “ambassadors of
mercy” to give presentations on the “Year of Mercy.”
The chapel will open for prayer, especially for vocations.
Pilgrim groups call (501)666-5073 for a reservation.
Sacred Heart Home Enthronements invite Jesus into
your heart, so that two hearts may become one heart.
The mission of this Apostolate is to renew family life
through the Heart of Jesus, one family at a time. “I
will bless every dwelling in which the image of My
Sacred Heart shall be exposed and Honored.” Sacred
Heart Home Enthronements help society get back to
the family, restore grace in our hearts, Eucharist in
the church, and peace in our homes. If you would like
to participate or for information please contact Mary
Sutton at 366-1504 or [email protected].
40 Days for Life – Now until Sunday, Nov. 6, you can
join “40 Days for Life” – 40 days of prayer and fasting
for an end to abortion. Please offer an hour or more to
stand or sit peacefully anytime from 7:00am to 7:00pm
in the public right-of-way outside Planned Parenthood
in Fayetteville. For information contact visit Facebook
40 Days for Life-Fayetteville, [email protected],
or 40daysforlife.com/fayetteville.
Subiaco Academy will have Shadow Days on Oct. 28
and Nov. 18, for interested students and their parents
to visit & explore the junior and senior high college
preparatory program. Young men in 6-10 grade are
invited to spend the night before Shadow Day in a
residence hall and accommodations for overnight stay
are available on campus for parents. The event is free
of charge. Call the Academy office for information, or
to reserve a place at (800)364-7824, (479)934-1034,

Today is World Sunday Collection – In announcing
his decission to declare a Holy Year of Mercy, Pope
Francis said, “Dear brothers and sisters, I have often
thought about how the Church might make clear its
mission of being a witness to mercy.” Supporting the
young churches throughout the world with your
prayers and generous gifts is indeed a merciful witness
of this mission. This collection will help missionaries
offer the poor of these areas practical help as they
share the mercy of God. It will ensure the
development of local dioceses, and support the work of
priests, religious and lay leaders who serve those on
the margians and in most need. Extend your merciful
witness to the whole world through today’s collection
for the Society of the Propagation of the Faith!
