XXVIII Sunday in Ordinary Time
“Jesus looking at him, loved him….come follow me”
XXVIII Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
"Jesús mirándole, le amó .... ven y sígueme"
Jesus deeply loved the man, and because of that love,
he called him to sell all that he had, give the money
to the poor, and fully depending on the father, to return and walk with him. Jesus himself let go of his
security as a carpenter, he let go of everything and
fully was dependent on the Father. Jesus teaches us
that the RICH are those who depend on their money
and possessions to “Be somebody” The attitude of
the “Rich” is self destructive. It comes many ways
through expressions such as: “I do not need anything
from anyone’’ or “I’ll do it myself” or “If I can’t
solve our problems nobody can” “It’s mine” or
“Look at all I’ve given you”. The rich person does
not need to be saved, does not need a Savior, does
not need God and in the process of living, destroys
himself. The posture of a Christian is to accept all
good things from the Father and our prayer needs to
be primarily the prayer of thanksgiving, following
Jesus to life –now and forever.
Jesús amaba profundamente al hombre, y debido a
ese amor, él lo llamó a vender todo lo que tenía, y dar
el dinero a los pobres, y depender totalmente de su
padre, y volver a caminar con él. Jesús, el mismo, dejo ir la seguridad como carpintero, hizo a un lado todo ye era completamente dependiente del Padre.
Jesús nos enseña que los RICOS son aquellos que
dependen de su dinero y posesiones el "Ser Alguien"
La actitud de los "Ricos" es auto destructivo. Se presenta de muchas maneras a través de expresiones tales como: "Yo no necesito nada de nadie'', o" voy a
hacerlo yo mismo "o" Si no puedo resolver nuestros
problemas nadie puede" " Es mío "o" Mira todo lo
que te he dado". El rico no necesita ser salvado, no
necesita al Salvador, no necesita a Dios y en el proceso de la vida, se destruye. La postura de un cristiano
es aceptar todas las cosas buenas de parte del Padre y
nuestra oración debe ser ante todo la oración de acción de gracias, siguiendo a Jesús a la vida, ahora y
para siempre.

choirs, all of whom are asked to participate in the
Liturgical Music workshops that are being conducted
on Fridays at 7:00pm in the church building.

Thank you for your generosity in the second collection. Las week we paid another $10,147.97 on the
loan on the Parish Center. Over the last 15 months
we have paid $100,000.00 on the loan! Thank you
again. We owe about $565,000.00.

The second collection last week was the Mission Coop collection for the church in Haiti. Your donation

Gracias por su generosidad en la segunda colecta. La
semana pasada pagamos $10,147.97 mas en el préstamo del Centro Parroquial. En los últimos 15 meses
hemos pagado $100,000.00 al préstamo! Gracias de
nuevo. Debemos alrededor de $565,000.00.

Help the Poor St. Vincent de Paul Society

Ayude a los Pobres San Vicente de Paúl
We are in the process of reorganizing the Parish St.
Vincent Society. We are in need of a small group of
parishioners who have a love for the poor and are willing to reach out with their time in service. The members
of St. Vincent meet for spiritual development, reflect on
the gift of serving others, visit the homes who request
assistance and evaluate how best to serve them. The
Members collaborate with our own “Padrinos” food
bank, St. Margaret Center and the Central St. Vincent
de Paul Society. Please call the Parish Office for more
information.
Estamos en el proceso de reorganización La Sociedad
de San Vicente de la parroquia. Estamos en necesidad
de un pequeño grupo de feligreses que tengan un amor
a los pobres y estén dispuesto a acercarse con su tiempo de servicio. Los miembros de San Vicente se reúnen
para el desarrollo espiritual, reflexionar sobre el don de
servir a los demás, visitar las casas que solicitan ayuda

Funeral Preparations
The time of grave sickness and death is a very sacred
and emotionally difficult. If a family member is gravely
ill, please call the Parish office so that we can bring the
Eucharist to them and celebrate the anointing of the
Sick. At the time of a funeral, I strive to adjust the parish schedules so that we can best serve you in planning
for the funeral. In order to help us to better serve you, I
ask that you contact the parish office BEFORE you
make an appointment with a mortuary. It has happened
that a family made all of the arrangements, then the
mortuary called us, but we were not able to accommodate the exact times that were previously made, which
simply adds to your tensions and stress. Please do call
the Parish Offices when there is serious illness and
when time comes, before your appointment with a mortuary representative. Thank you.
Warning On What You Put on Facebook
I need to remind all parishioners, especially the youth
that what you post on the internet cannot be controlled. I
am told that employers regularly check the internet for
information concerning applicants for employment at
their company. I have had the painful experience that a
person in leadership here in the parish placed inappropriate pictures in a Facebook site. After viewing the pictures I explained to the individual that the pictures were
inappropriate. It was agreed that the pictures would immediately be removed and an apology posted in their
place. Three weeks later nothing was changed. The person was suspended from all leadership positions in the
parish. Remember, whatever you place on the internet is
for everyone to see—please, think before you post it!
Los Preparativos Funerarios
El tiempo de la enfermedad grave y la muerte es muy
sagrada y difícil emocionalmente. Si un miembro de la
familia está gravemente enfermo, por favor llame a la
oficina de la parroquia para que podamos llevar la Eucaristía a ellos y celebrar la Unción de los Enfermos.
En el momento de un funeral, me esfuerzo para ajustar
los horarios de la parroquia para que podamos servirle
mejor en la planificación del funeral. Con el fin de ayudarnos a mejorar nuestro servicio, le pedimos que se
comunique con la oficina de la parroquia ANTES de
hacer una cita con la funeraria. Ha ocurrido que una
familia hace todos los arreglos, la funeraria nos llama,
pero no pueden acomodarse a los tiempos exactos que
se han hecho anteriormente, esto no hace sino aumentar las tensiones y el estrés. Por favor llame a la oficina
parroquial cuando hay una enfermedad grave y cuando
llegue el momento, antes de su cita con un representante de la funeraria. Gracias.
Advertencia Sobre Lo Que Pone en Facebook
Tengo que recordar a todos los feligreses, especialmente a los jóvenes que lo que se publica en el Internet no
se puede controlar. Me han dicho que los empleadores
revisan regularmente el Internet para obtener información sobre los solicitantes de empleo en su empresa.
He tenido la experiencia dolorosa que una persona en
el liderazgo aquí en la parroquia colocó fotos inapropiadas en Facebook. Después de ver las fotos yo le expliqué a la persona que las fotos eran inapropiadas. Se
acordó que las fotos serían inmediatamente retirados y
una disculpa publicada en su sitio. Tres semanas después, nada fue cambiado. La persona fue suspendido
de todas las posiciones de liderazgo en la parroquia.
Recuerde, lo que usted pone en la internet es para que
todos la vean, por favor, piense antes de publicarlo!
