Pupil Acceptable Use Statement
When using the school's ICT equipment and other information systems, I have understood and
will comply with the following statements:
 I have read and know what the computer rules in this document mean to me.

I will only go on the internet using my own username and password.

I will make sure that my password for the internet is difficult to guess and I will not share my
password with anybody else.

If I think someone has guessed my password I will tell a teacher.

I will not deliberately look for, save or send anything that could be unpleasant or nasty. If I
see anything like this I will tell my teacher immediately.

I will not try and get to any websites that the school has blocked access to.

I will make sure I take care of any school-owned ICT equipment that I use in school or at
home.

I will only use memory sticks with permission from my teacher.

I will not install any software on school computers.

I will return any school-owned ICT equipment to the ICT teacher when I have finished using
it.

I know that my use of ICT can be checked and that my parent/carer contacted if a member of
school staff is concerned about my safety.

I will not damage any school-owned ICT equipment.

I will not eat or drink while using school-owned ICT equipment.
Social Media
 I know that some websites and social networks have age restrictions and I should not use
them unless I am old enough.

I will not say nasty or hurtful things about any member of staff or pupil online.

I will not give away any of my personal details (full name, age, date of birth, sex, address
etc.) or the personal details of other users in school, over the internet. This includes
photographs or video images of me, other pupils or members of staff.

I will never arrange to meet anyone I have only met online unless a trusted adult is with me.

If I see any hurtful comments about the school, staff or pupils. I will take screenshots for
evidence and report to the eSafeguarding coordinator. (Mrs Donnan)
Managing Digital Content
 I will only use school-owned equipment to create pictures, video and sound. Pictures, video
and sound will not be taken without asking permission first.

I will not publish anything online, e.g. images or pictures, without asking my teacher.
Email
 I will only use my email address to contact people I know or those agreed by my teacher.

I will take care in opening any attachments sent by email. I will not open an attachment, or
download a file, unless I know and trust the person who has sent it.

When sending emails I will make sure that they are polite and sensible. I will not use my
email account to forward chain emails.
Mobile phones and devices
 I will only bring my mobile phone or other devices to school with permission from my
teacher.

I will only use mobile phones and mobile devices (e.g. Nintendo DS) when my teacher tells
me I can.

I will not take pictures in school on my mobile phone or mobile device.
Parents / Carer Acceptable Use Statement
New technologies have become integral to the lives of children and young people in today’s society,
both within schools and in their lives outside school. The internet and other digital information and
communications technologies are powerful tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone.
These technologies can stimulate discussion, promote creativity and stimulate awareness of context
to promote effective learning. Young people should have an entitlement to safe internet access at all
times.
This Acceptable Use Policy is intended to ensure:
 that young people will be responsible users and stay safe while using the internet and other
communications technologies for educational, personal and recreational use.
 that school ICT systems and users are protected from accidental or deliberate misuse that
could put the security of the systems and users at risk.
 that parents and carers are aware of the importance of e-safety and are involved in the
education and guidance of young people with regard to their on-line behaviour.
The school will try to ensure that students / pupils will have good access to ICT to enhance their
learning and will, in return, expect the students / pupils to agree to be responsible users. A copy of
the Student / Pupil Acceptable Use Policy is attached to this permission form, so that parents / carers
will be aware of the school expectations of the young people in their care.
Parents are requested to sign the permission form below to show their support of the school in this
important aspect of the school’s work.
Permission
 As a parent / carer, I give permission for my son / daughter to have access to the internet and
to ICT systems in school.
 I know that my son / daughter has signed an Acceptable use Agreement and has received, or
will receive, e – safety education to help them understand the importance of safe use of ICT –
both in school and out of school.
 I understand that the school will take every reasonable precaution, including monitoring and
filtering systems, to ensure that young people will be safe when they use the internet and ICT
systems. I also understand that the school cannot ultimately be held responsible for the nature
and content of materials accessed on the internet and using mobile technologies.
 I understand that my son’s / daughter’s activity on the ICT systems will be monitored and
that the school will contact me if they have concerns about any possible breaches of the
Acceptable Use Policy.
 I will encourage my child to adopt safe use of the internet and digital technologies at home
and will inform the school if I have concerns over my child’s e-safety.
 I agree to the school taking and using digital / video images of my child / children. I
understand that the images will only be used to support learning activities or in publicity that
celebrates success and promotes the work of the school and will never be accompanied by
pupil’s full names.
Declaración de Uso Responsable para los alumnos
Acepto que para utilizar equipo informático del colegio he comprendido y seguiré las siguientes
normas:
 He leído y comprendo el significado de las reglas en este documento.

Sólo utilizaré mi propio nombre de usuario y password para acceder a internet.

Utilizaré una clave segura y que no se pueda adivinar fácilmente para internet y no la
compartiré con nadie más.

Si sospecho que alguien conoce mi clave avisaré a mi profesor.

No buscaré, guardaré o enviaré material que pueda ser considerado desagradable. Si me
encuentro accidentalmente con algo así informaré a mi profesor inmediatamente.

No intentaré acceder a una página web a la que el colegio haya bloqueado el acceso.

Trataré con cuidado cualquier material informático que utilice en el colegio o en casa.

Sólo utilizaré memorias externas con el consentimiento de mi profesor.

No instalaré ningún programa en los ordenadores del colegio.

Devolveré cualquier material informático del colegio al profesor de ICT cuando haya
terminado de utilizarlo.

Entiendo que mi utilización de material informático puede ser supervisado y que avisarán a
mis padres o tutor si un empleado del colegio está preocupado por mi seguridad.

No causaré daños a ningún material informático del colegio.

No comeré o beberé mientras esté usando equipo informático del colegio.
Redes Sociales
 Entiendo que algunas páginas webs y redes sociales tienen restricciones de edad y no las
intentaré utilizar a no ser que tenga la edad requerida.

No haré comentarios desagradables o dañinos sobre ningún empleado o alumno del colegio
en internet.

No daré ningún dato personal (nombre, edad, fecha de nacimiento, sexo, dirección, etc.) o los
datos de otros usuarios del colegio en internet. Esto incluye imágenes o videos míos o de
otros alumnos o empleados.

Nunca me reuniré con nadie que haya conocido en internet a no ser que esté acompañado por
un adulto de mi confianza.

Si veo cualquier comentario dañino sobre el colegio, empleados o alumnos, haré una captura
de pantalla como prueba y se la enviaré al coordinador de seguridad en internet. (Mrs.

Uso de contenido digital
 Sólo utilizaré material del colegio para crear imágenes, vídeos y sonidos. Estos nunca serán
tomados sin pedir permiso primero.

No publicaré nada online, como imágenes o fotografías, sin consentimiento del profesor.
Email
 Sólo utilizaré mi correo electrónico para contactar con personas que conozca o con las que mi
profesor me haya autorizado.

Tendré precaución al abrir archivos adjuntos a un correo, no abriendo ni descargando nada a
no ser que provenga de alguien a quien conozco.

Cuando envíe un email me aseguraré de que son correctos y sensatos. No utilizaré mi cuenta
de correo para responder a emails en cadena.
Teléfonos móviles y otros dispositivos
 Sólo traeré mi teléfono móvil u otros dispositivos al colegio con permiso de mi profesor.

Sólo utilizaré el teléfono y otros dispositivos portátiles (i.e. Nintendo DS) cuando mi profesor
así lo autorice.

No tomaré fotos en el colegio con mi teléfono y dispositivo portátil..
Declaración de uso responsable para los padres o tutores
Las nuevas tecnologías se han vuelto parte fundamental en las vidas de los niños y jóvenes en la
sociedad actual, tanto en el colegio como en sus vidas fuera de clase. Internet y otros medios de
información y comunicación digital son herramientas poderosas, que abren nuevas oportunidades
para todos. Estas tecnologías pueden estimular debates, creatividad, y conocimiento del entorno para
ayudar en el proceso de aprendizaje. Los jóvenes deben tener derecho a un uso seguro de internet en
todo momento.
Esta política de uso responsable pretende asegurar:
 Que los jóvenes sean usuarios responsables y preserven su seguridad de usar internet y otras
tecnologías de comunicación para fines educativos, personales o de ocio.
 Que los sistemas y usuarios de informática del colegio estén protegidos del uso accidental o
malintencionado que pueda poner su seguridad en peligro.
 Que los padres y tutores sean conscientes de la importancia de la seguridad en internet y se
involucren en la educación y asesoramiento de los jóvenes con respecto a su comportamiento
online.
El colegio tratará de asegurarse de que sus alumnos tengan un acceso adecuado a la informática para
promover su aprendizaje, y esperan como contraprestación que los alumnos sean usuarios
responsables. Adjuntamos una copia de la política de uso responsable a esta autorización, de manera
que los padres y tutores sean conscientes de las expectativas del colegio respecto a los alumnos bajo
su protección.
Solicitamos a los padres y tutores que firmen la autorización para comunicarnos su apoyo en este
importante aspecto del trabajo del colegio.
Autorización
 Como padre o tutor, autorizo a mi hijo a tener acceso a internet y equipo informático en el
colegio.
 Entiendo que mi hijo ha firmado un compromiso de uso responsable, y que ha recibido o
recibirá educación sobre la seguridad en internet para ayudarle a entender la importancia de
un uso seguro de internet dentro y fuera del colegio.
 Entiendo que el colegio tomará todas las precauciones razonables, incluyendo supervisión y
sistemas de filtro, para asegurarse de que los jóvenes usen internet y el equipo informático de
una manera segura. También entiendo que el colegio no puede ser considerado último
responsable por la naturaleza y del contenido de materiales disponibles en internet o mediante
el uso de tecnología móvil.
 Entiendo que la actividad informática de mi hijo será supervisada y que el colegio se pondrá
en contacto conmigo si están preocupados por un incumplimiento de la política de uso
responsable.
 Animaré a mi hijo a usar internet y otras tecnologías digitales de manera responsable en casa
e informaré al colegio sobre cualquier preocupación que pueda tener sobre la seguridad de mi
hijo en internet.
 Acepto que el colegio puede tomar y emplear imágenes de mi hijo, que serán empleadas
exclusivamente en actividades didácticas o en publicidad que celebre el éxito y promueva el
trabajo del colegio, y nunca dando el nombre completo de los alumnos.

Dear Parents,
King’s College School believes in the educational value of a networked computer system and the
Internet and recognizes their potential to support and enrich the curriculum and the learning process
of its pupils. Our goal is to provide a computer system and internet access to promote educational
excellence by facilitating resources sharing, innovation and communication. Use of the computer
system and the internet is a privilege and requires responsible use. As part of on-going commitment
to E safety, the use of ICT within the school is subject to an Acceptable Use Policy. Pupils have
been given lessons and assemblies about this matter and have signed an Acceptable Use Statement, a
copy of which is attached.
As part of our Acceptable Use Policy, we ask for your support in this matter as parents and carers
and attach a copy of the statements applicable to you. A copy of the full policy is available on the
website.
After reading the Acceptable Use Policy Statements, please complete the Acceptance Form in the
link attached to the email.

En King’s College School creemos en la importancia desde el punto de vista educativo de disponer
de una red de ordenadores con acceso a internet, de manera que los alumnos puedan consolidar y
ampliar su aprendizaje del currículo académico. Tenemos como objetivo facilitar a nuestros alumnos
un sistema informático que les permita compartir recursos, y promueva la innovación y la
comunicación. El uso de este sistema y del acceso a internet es un privilegio que requiere de una
utilización responsable. Como parte de nuestro compromiso con la seguridad en internet, el uso de
material informático en el colegio está sujeto a la Política de Utilización Correcta, de la cual se
adjunta copia.
Como parte de esta política, solicitamos su apoyo como padres y cuidadores y les adjuntamos una
