ADULT FAITH FORMATION
ADULT CONFIRMATION
PREPARATION
(Adults 18 years of age and older)
Corpus Christi Catholic Church will
begin Confirmation formation for adults in January 2016. The
process has an emphasis on developing a more intimate union
with Christ and a more dynamic relationship with the Holy Spirit so that one can assume greater responsibilities in one’s
Christian life and in Christ’s Church. Typically, the sacrament
of Confirmation for adults is conferred on the feast of Pentecost. This year Pentecost will fall on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
Please call the office to schedule an interview and to provide
you with the class dates, if you or someone you know is interested in starting this process. Contact Claudia Sereno, Dir. of
Religious Education, 713-667-0497 ext. 115 or email
[email protected]

From the Art Desk…
So thankful for all the blessings God has bestowed upon us, we
artists took to celebrating the colors of November!
The Art Elective class began the month with a deceptively simple project using up-cycled stone tiles and leaves from our conservation site. What started out as a simple idea quickly turned
into a true work of the heart. The students first adhered chosen
fall leaves to a piece of stone with Hodge Podge. Not quite
satisfied with the outcome, white tissue paper was laid over the
top. Again, not sure what to expect at that point, another layer
of glue was added. Once color was added to the paper and
glue, masterpieces were created.
RCIA PROCESS
(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
RCIA is oriented towards those who are searching and inquiring about the Catholic way of life.
While this program is oriented for adults (18 years and older),
it is also adapted for children.
The adaptation of this rite for children is called RCIA – Rite of
Christian Initiation for Children (usually 7 years and older –
unbaptized.)
Who can be a part of this journey?
• Someone who has never been baptized
• Someone who has been baptized in another faith tradition,
and who wishes to join the Catholic faith.
• Someone who has been baptized a Catholic, but has not
received the Sacraments of Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.
• Fully initiated members of the Catholic Church are also
encouraged to participate as sponsors or to further their
own knowledge and understanding of Church teachings
Please call the office to schedule an interview and to provide
you with the class dates. If you or someone you know is interested in starting this process, please contact Claudia Sereno,
Director of Religious Education, 713-667-0497 ext. 115 or

Thank you for being a generous steward of the parish!
Next, our Tuesday Elective class tried their hand at Pop Art!
Great use of colors and such fun! (bottom left)
Our Kindergarten through 5th grade Art classes embraced the
changing season of November with a celebration of Los Pavos
(the turkeys). Working in reds and yellows (and yes, orange
was made), the kindergartners made their personalized dinner
placemats for the big day. 1st, 3rd and 5th grades made wooden
turkey centerpieces while 2nd and 4th made turkey mosaics.
(upper right). I caught up with Kindergarten right before the
break and they were working on their own leaf rubbings…
breathtaking! Stay tuned for more creative expressions through
art from our talented students!
God bless,
Beth O’Neal
