Grant Award of $1,000
from The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia
St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church is pleased to announce that we have received a
grant award of $1,000 from The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia.

These funds will be used to fund two catechists to the Certificado en Teología Pastoral
(Pastoral Theology Certificate.) This is a 3 year online program offered by the Office of
Formation and Discipleship, in partnership with The University of Dallas School of Ministry to
prepare leaders for the evangelization and catechetical mission of the Church in the
Archdiocese of Atlanta, and especially our parish.

Africa Day: Saturday, July 30th
Join our brothers and sisters of the African Parishioners Organization (APO) at the 6th African
Day celebration, on Saturday, July 30th.
Traditional African Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by a gathering all afternoon, in the Social Hall.
Come and enjoy a fun day with assorted African dishes while being entertained by traditional
African dances performed by our children.
The main celebrant is Rev. Fr. Basil and many other invited priests, all our parish priests
including Rev. Fr. Jojo, the Chaplain of the African Parishioners Organization (APO).
We also have a visiting priest from Zambia, Rev. Fr. Victor Mwensa,
Mwensa brother of an APO member,
Mary Mweshi.
It will be a blessed day for all! May our prayers be heard.

Jamaica Annual Mission Trip: October 26-31
Join the Jamaican Outreach Ministry for its 26th Annual Mission Trip this fall. During 6 days,
our missionaries will serve the poorest of our sisters and brothers in Christ as they assist the
religious brothers and sisters of the Missionaries of the Poor, in Kingston, Jamaica.

Ministry of Visitation to the Sick
HELP NEEDED on Thursday afternoons
for Delmar Gardens
The Ministry of Visitation to the Sick is looking for a person who is interested and committed to
visiting and getting to know the wonderful residents of Delmar Gardens (less than 1 mile from
the church).
Every Thursday from 2:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Say the Rosary and distribute Communion to a group of residents at Delmar Gardens. Then,
visit Catholics who are bedridden to say prayers and administer Communion.
Any person interested needs to be committed to the time this ministry demands.
We serve approximately 15-18 residents.
You do not have to be a Eucharistic Minister, just someone who cares.
