terracota roof tile - Roof Tiles in India
Tecamasa and Tejas Arabes, the production plants for ceramic roof tiles, use European-level technology and they are considered the most modern plants in Europe. With the latest electronic advances, we get an automated manufacturing process, also controlled in real time, which checks the grain size, its uniformity and moisture of the raw material, thereby obtaining a final product of unquestionable quality. Our ceramic roof tile production basically focuses on pan tiles or Stiles, French tiles, flat interlocking tiles and curved roof tiles with a wide range o finishes and colors, as well as different accessory pieces. Once again, at Ceramica la Oliva, we provide solution, combining tradition with new trends and today’s architectural requirements. DEFINITIONS RooF TILE.- A covering element for discontinuous placement on sloped roofs. They are made by forming (extrusion and/or pressing), drying and firing a clayey paste that may or may not contain additives. They may be completely or partially covered with slip or a glaze. LAYING THE TILES Pantile The tiles are laid by vertical courses in the case of pantiles (pantiles or S-tiles, Arabic and Castilian), and by horizontal courses in the case of French and/or flat interlocking tiles. In both cases, laying process begins at the eave and at the right side of the gable. PARA MÁS INFORMACIÓN, PUEDE PONERSE EN CONTACTO CON NUESTRO DEPARTAMENTO TÉCNICO O CONSULTAR NUESTRA WEB www.ceramicalaoliva.com Attachment levels.- At a minimum, the tiles will be attached at special points. As well as this minimum attachment level, according to the pitch used, there are four attachment levels that are also specified in the ceramic roof tiles use manual. Ventilation.- Perhaps one of the most neglected aspects, yet one of the most important ones to ensure the correct performance of a roof, is proper ventilation to prevent the formation of troublesome condensation. To properly ventilate a roof, different actions are required according to whether the area under the roof is habitable or not. In the latter case, what must be ventilated is the underside of the deck that makes up the roof, and to do this we must make a hole in it and place a ventilation tile on top of it. If the area under the roof is habitable, ventilation of the area under the tiles must be favored, and to do this as many ventilation tiles as necessary are installed. In both cases, it is recommended that at least one ventilation tile be installed for every 10 m2 of roof, placing them near the eave and the ridge (for a gable that is approximately 50 m2, it is recommended that two ventilation tiles be placed near the eave, and three near the ridge). Curved roof tile Covered skirts using curved tiles will have a minimum slope of 26% or 15 degrees, although it is possible that local conditions make that the minimum be increased, to skirt lengths exceeding 12 m, we have to do a particular study as recommended by the manufacturer. Levels of fixation The levels described below indicate the number, the points system, etc., which are used to fix the tiles to the skirt, depending on the slopes of use. It fixed at least all the tiles to the support channel to prevent slipping. In forwards, sideways, ridge lines, meetings with vertical and in any other singular point is necessary to set all the roof tiles (channel roof tile and top roof tile), avoiding the unrestrained support whatever supporting material. Level “A” Along with the directions of minimum level, setting out all ridge tiles in five vertical rows. Level “B” When you do a deck with a slope greater than 70% or 35º, or in areas with strong winds, exposed site or basic seismic acceleration > 0.12 g, all the tiles (channel roof tile and top roof tile) will be fixed only by hooks or nails.
