warmer? If you are planning an excavation project, be sure you or your contractor calls
the statewide Call Before You Dig hotline by dialing 811 at least two working days
before the digging starts, as required by law. This information allows our company and
other utilities to mark out their facilities in the area being excavated. This one call helps
prevent injuries and damage to underground facilities. Failure to comply may cause an
accident and result in legal penalties! Remember, too, that when hiring a contractor,

Planting a tree is a great gift to the community and
the environment, but planting a tree in the wrong
location can cause safety concerns and interfere with
utility services. That’s why it’s important to plan before
you plant. First, find out what’s underfoot. Dial 811
toll-free to Call Before You Dig.
Trees planted too close to underground utilities can
cause problems as their root systems expand and
digging to close to underground services can cause
leaks or ruptures, or present safety concerns. Always
hand-dig within 18 inches of underground natural
gas services as required by law.
Get Connected! A New Natural Gas
Consumer and Education Program
“Get Connected!” is a new campaign supported by the state’s three natural gas
distribution companies, including CNG. The campaign provides Connecticut residents
with information about the benefits of natural gas, availability of natural gas in the
state and case studies for business and residential customers.
You may have family or friends who would like to make the switch and want to find
