MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Next weekend, the Second Collection is our Maintenance & Repair Collection. These funds help with the
repair and restoration of the parish buildings. Thank you

OUR LADY OF CANDELARIA MASS
On Monday, February 2nd at 8:00pm Blessed Sacrament
will celebrate the Mass of Our Lady of Candelaria. At
7:30pm, you are invited to join us for the Rosary before the
Mass. During the Mass we will bless the candles and religious articles you bring with you to Mass.
BLESSING OF THROATS
On Tuesday, February 3rd, the Feast of St. Blaise, there
will be the blessing of the throats after each Mass. Everybody is welcomed to receive this blessing.
TAXES 2014
We have ready your yearly contribution summary. If you
desire a print-out of your tax letter to assist you with your
2014 taxes or just for your own records, please call the rectory to request one - and give your name, address, phone
and envelope number. When the letters are ready, we will
mail them out to all who have requested a copy. If there
should be any questions or confusion regarding your statements, please be sure to contact the Rectory so that we may
address any issues or concerns. Thank you.
HUMAN GROWTH WORKSHOPS
There will be a series of workshops in Spanish for all who
want to participate. All workshops will be held at the Valero
Hall and need to call the parish to register.

THE LORD’S DAY
For Christians in the first century, The Lord’s Day, Sunday, was not for rest, but worship. It was a regular work
day. People met before dawn, and after. Eucharist hurried
off to daily routines. Today, we come to Mass, but many
hurry off to essential work, not a day of rest. They even get
distracted during mass with texting or talking on the
phone. The Lord’s Day is not The Sabbath, but we can enhance Sunday’s ability to transform us if we consider embracing some Sabbath values: having a family meal, going
for a walk in a beautiful place, making room in our lives to
open ourselves more fully to holiness of life in Christ. And
we have to remember for Christians the most important
prayer group is our own participation in the Eucharistic
meal on the Lord’s Day.

PARISH SUPPORT INITIATIVE
Many parishioner understand the need for everyone to participate in our Parish Support Program. At Blessed Sacrament Church, this participation will mean different things
to different people depending on the present degree of support, such as:
1. Register in Blessed Sacrament to establish membership.
2. Use weekly envelopes with a contribution.
3. Increase your weekly donation to Blessed Sacrament
Church.
We will be able to meet our expenses if we have an increase in our income. Each of us is aware of the costs of
running our own homes. The same demands apply to our
parish. Whatever your means allow, we ask you to considering increasing your contribution.
Our goals are:
1. To register more parishioners.
2. To realize an increase that will allow us to cover our
daily expenses.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
On the 1st Saturday of each month at the 9am Mass, we
invite any person who is sick to be anointed . Please remember the anointing is for those people who have an illness and seek healing. Some people believe that the Holy
Oils will prevent illness. This is not the teaching of the
Church. Who should be anointed?
1. Anyone diagnosed with a serious illness.
2. Anyone being treated for serious illness.
3. Anyone who is going to have surgery.
If you wish to be anointed on Saturday, February 2nd,
please call the Rectory, so that we can prepare for the
Mass. Also, remember that a priest is available to anoint
anyone in their home. Contact the Rectory to make arrangements.
ROSARY SOCIETY
On Sunday, February 1st, 2015, the Rosary Society will
have its monthly meeting after the 12:00pm Mass in the Convent. Everybody is welcome.

SEGUNDA COLECCION
Este fin de semana, 24-25 de Enero, la Segunda Colecta
es una colecta de la Diócesis para ayudar en los programas
para las Iglesias de América Latina, el Caribe, Europa del
Este y África.
MANTENIMIENTO Y REPARACION
El próximo fin de Semana la Segunda Colecta es par a
la “Reparación y Restauración”. Estos fondos nos permiten hacer los arreglos y restauraciones de los edificios
de la parroquia. Gracias por su ayuda.
MISA DE NTRA. SEÑORA DE LA CANDELARIA
El Lunes 2 de Febrero a las 8:00pm. Nuestra Iglesia celebra la Misa de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria. Les invitamos para que a las 7:00pm vengan a ser participes del
Santo Rosario seguido de la Misa. Durante la Misa se bendecirán velas y artículos religiosos que traigan.
BENDICION DE GARGANTAS
EL DIA SEL SEÑOR
Para los cristianos del primer siglo, El Día del Señor, Domingo, no era para descansar sino para orar. Era un día regular.
Las personas se reunían antes y después del amanecer. La Eucaristía después se hizo una rutina diaria. Hoy en día venimos
a misa con los mensajes de texto o a hablar por teléfono. El
Día del Señor no es el Sábado, pero podemos mejorar la capacidad del Domingo para transformarnos si tenemos en cuenta
que abarca algunos valores del Sábado como tener una comida
en familia, ir a dar un paseo por un lugar hermoso, haciendo
espacio en nuestras vidas para abrirnos mas plenamente a la
santidad de la vida en Cristo. Además, debemos recordar que
para los cristianos el grupo de oración mas importante es
nuestra propia participación en el banquete Eucarístico en el
