participated. We want to say thank you to those parishioners who have made a sacrificial
gift to our campaign and for those of you who are praying for Generations of Faith.
If you made your pledge this weekend, you should receive an initial reminder statement
within the next month. Please keep in mind that reminder statements, with return envelopes, are sent out at the end of each month. If you would still like to make a pledge, you
can drop your pledge form off at the Parish Office.
Our commitments to date are a wonderful testament of the generosity and faithfulness of
our parish family!

greater than we can ever comprehend and were created to be glorious,
beautiful and valuable because we are Daughters of the King.

We invite each young lady, 13yrs old and older to come
and hear about True Love and to learn more about what it
means to be a Daughter of The King.
We meet from 6pm to 8pm
every Thursday for 10 weeks.

Upgrades in our parish
Right before Palm Sunday, we had an upgrade done
to our sound system. Several parishioners had complained
about not being able to hear in certain parts of the church. All
the speakers have been replaced and new ones were relocated
in the front of the church. The technology was the same used
for the Papal Mass of Pope Francis in Philadelphia last year.
More tweaking was done during Holy Week with the microphones to better adapt to our church. The sound system was
also connected to our digital carillon bell system so that what
is broadcast in church can also be broadcasted outside. We
can also use our wireless microphones outside to broadcast
outside and inside the church.
Another upgrade was the outdoor lighting in the front
of the church. The sixty-year old wiring for the outdoor light
posts had rotted away and became impossible to repair. Instead of reusing the light posts, new LED lights were mounted
on the façade of the church, which lights up the façade, the
steps and part of the plaza in front of the church. The center
light can change colors and illuminate the large cross on the
façade of the church. Please check it out when you drive by at
night.
Bishop James Massa
Next Sunday, April 17 at the 10 am Mass, Bishop James
Massa, Moderator of the Curia, will celebrate the Mass and
bless the new Saint John Paul II shrine. Bishop Massa will
also meet with the parish pastoral council, the parish finance
council and some parishioners after the Mass. Since the diocese has 187 parishes, it is not possible for Bishop DiMarzio
to get to each parish on Sundays. He has asked Bishop Massa
to assist him in pastoral visits to the parishes. All parishioners
are invited to the Mass. It is also our family Mass, we will
have refreshments afterwards in the parish room.
Mass of Hope and Healing
Survivors of Sexual abuse by members of the Clergy and the Diocese of Brooklyn
will be sponsoring a Mass of Hope and Healing, Thursday April 21, 2016,
7:00PM, at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church (located on 110-06 Queens Blvd.,
in Forest Hills). The main celebrant will be Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio.
All are invited to gather on this day, to pray for healing for all those who have
been impacted by childhood sexual abuse.
Pieta House
Please support Pieta House in its mission of preventing suicide & self
harm by participating in their annual 5k walk/run- Darkness into Light
which will take place on May 7th, 2016 at Flushing Meadows Corona
Park. The walk begins at 4:15 am in darkness and you cross the finish line

Renovaciones en nuestra parroquia
Justo antes del Domingo de Palmas, renovamos
nuestro sistema de sonido. Varios feligreses se quejaron de
no haber podido escuchar en ciertas partes de la iglesia.
Todas las bocinas fueron reemplazadas y las nuevas fueron
reubicadas en frente la iglesia. La tecnología que se uso fue
la misma como la Misa Papal del Papa Francisco en
Filadelfia del año pasado. Se hicieron más modificaciones
con los micrófonos durante la Semana Santa para adaptarse
mejor en nuestra iglesia. El sistema de sonido también era
conexión a nuestro carillón digital de sistema de campana
para que lo que se transmita en la iglesia también se
transmita afuera. También podemos usar nuestros micrófonos inalámbricos afuera para transmitir afuera y adentro la
iglesia.
Otra renovación que se hizo fue la iluminación de
afuera en frente de la iglesia. El cableado eléctrico de
sesenta años para los postes de luz de afuera se deterioró y
fue imposible repararlo. En vez de rehusar los postes de
luz, nuevas luces LED fueron montados en la portada de la
iglesia, ilumina la portada, los escalones y parte de la plaza
de enfrente de la iglesia. La luz central cambia de colores e
ilumina la cruz grande en la portada de la iglesia. Por favor
échenle un vistazo cuando manejen de noche.
Obispo James Massa
El próximo domingo, 17 de abril en la Misa de
las 10am, el Obispo James Massa, Moderador de
la Curia, celebrara la Misa y bendecirá el nuevo
Santuario del Santo Juan Pablo II. El Obispo
Massa también conocerá el concejo pastoral
parroquial, el concejo parroquial financiero y
algunos feligreses después de la Misa. Como la
diócesis tiene 187 parroquias, no es posible para
el Obispo DiMarzio llegar a cada parroquia los
domingos. Le pidió al Obispo Massa asistirlo con
visitas pastorales a las parroquias. Todos los
feligreses son invitados a esta Misa. También es
nuestra Misa familiar, después tendremos
refrigerios en el salón parroquial.
Misa de Esperanza y Sanación
Sobrevivientes de Abuso Sexual cometido por miembros del Clero y la
Diócesis de Brooklyn, están patrocinando la Misa de Esperanza y Sanación que se realizara el jueves, 21 de abril, 2016 a las 7:00PM en la
Iglesia de Nuestra Señora Reina de Mártires (localizada en el 110-06
Queens Blvd., en Forest Hills). La Misa será celebrada por el Msñr.
Nicholas DiMarzio, Obispo de Brookyln. Todos están invitados a reunirse en este día, para orar por la sanación de todos los que han sido impactados por el abuso sexual de niños.
