La ley establece que toda persona que trabaja con radiaciones ionizantes, debe tener Licencia de Operación otorgada por el Órgano Competente. Los requisitos son un curso de protección radiológica y su historial dosimétrico. La CCHEN dicta dos cursos abiertos para este efecto: Un Curso Básico de Protección Radiológica (20 hrs. Se ha dictado un Curso Nacional para Encargados de Protección Radiológica; para conceder licencia, el Comité Técnico de Evaluación reconoce cursos realizados en el extranjero que cumplan con los tópicos básicos del curso dictado en el país. IPEN is a public decentralized organization within the sector of Energy and Mines with two main duties: - promotion of nuclear technology and, - control of radiation sources. IPEN has as one of his principal functions planning and to execute actions of training, developing and coordinating programs of specialization and improving in the nuclear field, and in addition, in the regulatory aspect, it emits regulations on Radiation Protection and controls his fulfillment at national level.
