God, which impacts how we live out our faith.
“With amazing clarity and simplicity, Fr. Pacwa helped
answer my questions about the Catholic Faith... especially my
questions about sin, God’s omnipotence, and the
sacraments!” Daniel, Vancouver BC

ENCYCLICAL ON THE ENVIRONMENT
In his June 2015, encyclical on creation care, Laudato Si’,
Pope Francis proclaims that the poor are those most
harmed by environmental destruction and climate change,
and that developed countries like ours owe the poor an
“environmental debt”. With Pope Francis we pray, “O God
of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten
of this earth,… that we may protect the world and prey on
it.” In the encyclical, we are urged to do what we can to
support global agreements on sustainable development, on
protecting ecosystems globally, and on limiting
greenhouse gases to a greater extent in developed
countries than in poor countries. We are encouraged to
reduce our consumption and reduce our carbon footprint.
Items most needed for the food pantry
are: pancake mix, syrup, hot
chocolate, kid’s cereal, Saltines and
jelly.
We also need Adam’s bags! The Food
Pantry had 73 visitors in January thanks for your support!
A reminder that the re-scheduled Family Session is taking
place this weekend after the 9 am Mass. This session is
FULL so please be sure you are already registered.
All classes are being held this week.
Students in the A.D.V.E.N.T.U.R.E. Program will be
outside of Church after all masses this weekend seeking
donations for the annual Bucket Collection to benefit
Special Olympics. Your continued generosity is greatly
appreciated!
RCIA -- The Rite of Enrollment will take place next
weekend at the 9 am Mass. Following the Rite here at St.
Mary's, Chessa Cahill, our catechumen, will travel with her
sponsor to St. Patrick's Cathedral for the Rite of Election to
be celebrated by Cardinal Dolan. Please keep our
catechumen and candidates in your prayers as their
journey to the Easter Vigil and full initiation into the
Catholic Church intensifies.
Don't forget our "Pre-Super Bowl" party tonight (Sunday)
from 4 - 6 pm! Please bring an
appetizer to share and we will supply
the soda and a dessert! All high school
teens are welcome to attend!

It be held every Wednesday from February 24th through
May 16th.
We will, once again, meet in the Rectory Meeting Room
here at St. Mary’s Church. The presenter will be Ms. Cathy
Drennen.
