“O Happy Fault”
Rejoice, heavenly powers! Sing, choirs of angels! Exult, all creation around God’s throne!
Jesus Christ, our King, is risen! Sound the trumpet of salvation!
I am reminded of the reading from the gospel of St. John on Christmas morning: “What came to be through Him was life,
and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Today, once again on this Easter Sunday we celebrate God’s promise fulfilled as we pray, “Rejoice, O earth, in shining
splendor, radiant in the brightness of your King! Christ has conquered! Glory fills you! Darkness vanishes forever.”
Easter is a celebration of life and light – it is a celebration of the paschal mystery – the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Bringing the message home.
What does Easter mean to you? Is it a new set of clothes, one of the two Sundays in the year you attend Mass
or is it a basket of chocolate rabbits and marshmallow peeps? I hope not.
“O happy fault, O necessary sin of Adam which gained for us so great a Redeemer.”
Easter is a special day for each one of us. In this Year of Faith let the Lord Jesus in your life. Where there is the darkness of
sin, let Him be the light of forgiveness. Where there is a loss or void in your life let the light of Jesus’ presence fill you.
In your happy times celebrate the joy of the Redeemer. Remember, the tomb is empty, the Risen Jesus is with you.
Peace and joy in Christ Jesus.

PASTOR´S MESSAGE
KEEPING ALIVE OUR EASTER JOY
T
oday we are filled with Easter joy. Our smiles and greetings of “Happy Easter” are symbols of our interior deep
joyfulness. We have journeyed with Our Lord through His sufferings, sacrifices, death and Resurrection. We have tried
to understand the depth of His faith and trust in His Father’s love. During Lent we have also tried to imitate His loving
obedience to His Father’s will. The immensity of His sacrifice to the point of giving over His life for us is a challenge and invitation
that we have struggled with as well. Finally His selfless love for His Father and for us has set the standard for our efforts to purify
intentions and reach out in love toward God and neighbor. We have journeyed with the Lord, now we celebrate His victory.
It is important that as we have grown in faith, hope, and love during the Holy Season of Lent that we continue to do so during
the Easter season and beyond. Periods of intense and careful attention to our spirituality need to be built upon. Advent and Lent are
meant to give us stronger, deeper foundations for building stronger and more heroic virtue. It is up to us to share our joy, to make a
difference for the good and to keep Easter Resurrection an ever present truth. We have died with Christ and have been re-born as
new creations. Everything that we do as Resurrection people has the potential to brighten and dazzle our world with the faithful love
of God and the inspiring vision of Jesus Christ Risen. Happy Easter! Joyful future!

DIOCESAN SERVICES APPEAL
The 2013 Diocesan Services Appeal recently
launched in parishes across the Diocese of Palm
Beach. There are many ministries and programs
supported by this annual appeal. Because of
the DSA, and your generosity, the Diocese can
continue to support the many aspects of our
larger Church, including the 53 parishes and
missions, and our 19 schools. The DSA is the
primary source of funding for the Diocese,
providing more than 70 percent of the annual
operating income. The strength of our diocese
comes from us recognizing God’s gifts and sharing
a portion of these gifts for building up the Kingdom
of God. Please contribute to the Diocesan Services
Appeal and help us meet our Parish Goal.

As you all know, implementation of Our Journey Forward Strategic Plan has
gradually started. This implementation of our Plan will require the collaboration
of many parishioners with the Six Goal Champion Teams. In this bulletin you will
notice a Journey Forward Goal number next to every event, task or program
that points-out a pertinence to one of St. Joan of Arc’s Goals:
GROW IN LOVE
SPREAD THE GOSPEL
GROW IN SERVICE
GROW OUR RESOURCES
GROW IN FAITH

STATEMENT FROM
MOST REVEREND GERALD M. BARBARITO
ON THE ELECTION OF POPE FRANCIS
We rejoice with the entire Church on the election of
Pope Francis as the Shepherd of the Universal Church. The fact
that the Cardinals chose him so quickly, especially in view of
the requirement of 2/3 vote, is a sign of their unified
consensus that he is the most appropriate choice for this
ministry of service. We have a series of firsts - among them a
new name for a Pope as well as the first Pope from the
Americas. He is a very loving, humble, spiritual and capable
man with a special love for the poor and marginalized in
keeping with the name of his patron, Saint Francis of Assisi.
Before giving his blessing to the people gathered in St. Peter’s
Square, he bowed his head before them to ask for their prayers.
We all also join in prayer for our new Holy Father as he begins
his significant ministry of service to all men and women.
