On the 2nd inst., from the dwelling of T. Gr.
Molloy, Goderich Street, Perth,—one pound Bank
Note (No. and Bank not known), one half sovereign.
Mrs. Bowen formerly Dawson suspected.—C.L 375.
On the night of the 2nd inst., from the dwelling
of William Waldock, Brisbane Street, Perth,—small
bag containing 4 £1 Bank Notes, (Nos. and Bank
not known), about 5s. in silver, and an acceptance of
Mason, Bird, & Co. for £9 16s. on W.A. Bank, due
on 30th Nov., 1877. Alfred Hubert, free, (bp

Bunbury,—half of a single mattress, marked with a
broad arrow; recovered by P.C. Veale in the possession of Thomas Hall, exp., late 5367. Vide Apprehensions.—C.L 377.

The clothing therein described has been found by
Edward Collins, exp., late 7040, on the 31st ult.,
concealed in a drain at South Perth.
On the 29th ult., from the residence of Thomas
Oakley, St. Greorge's Terrace, Perth,—pair of jet ear
drops, with the figure of a child on them, 1 gold
cross, 1\ in. long, magenta stone set in centre. Mary

ANDEEW SUTCLIFFE,
MAETIN COMMEEFOED, free; is charged on warrant issued at Geraldton, ou 27th ult., with fraudulently stealing a certain letter that had been put into
the Post Oifice, Geraldton, for transmission to Perth,
by the Mail, and did take out of the said letter an
order for the payment of money, to wit .£1, on or
about the 8th August last. Vide Apprehensions.

PETER CARTER, exp., stout, about 43 years
of age,
Sft. 7jin. high, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, full
visage, sallow complexion, scar right arm; miner.
The chestnut horse therein named has been seen by
Frederick John Taylor at the 7-mile pool, Murchison
Eiver, near the Geraldine Mines, on the 20th ult.
Eeported by Mr. Mason, Civil Engineer, Geraldton,
that several large stones had been placed on the
Eailway Line, about 16 miles from Geraldton, on the
22nd ult., with a view to throwing the locomotive
off the rails.

NULLAN alias HARRT, ab. nat., while being
pursued by P.C. Butterworth at E. & W. Jones'
Mill, Blackwood, on the 25th ult., was fired on by the
police and killed.
Property Found.
On the 2nd inst., in Murray Street, Perth,—pair
of spectacles and case. Now at Detective Oflace.
WALTER MCCAULL GEDDES, free, stout, 30 years
of age, 5ft. 7 or 8in. high, light hair, round visage,
fair complexion; is charged on warrant issued at
Premantle, on 30th ult., with being indebted to
Alfred Frederick Durlacher, in the sum of £20 and
.£80, he being about to leave the Colony.
On the 30th ult., in St. George's Terrace, Perth,—
brown cotton parasol (new). Now at Detective
Ofi&ce.
JAMES IRVINE, exp., late 8591, middling stout,
37 years of age, 5ft. 6lin. high, dark brown hair,
dark hazel eyes, loug visage, sallow complexion; is
charged on warrant issued at Pinjarrah, on 20th ult.,
with neglecting to pay a fine of 30s. and costs,
inflicted ou l l t h September last. This man is in
the Bunbury District.
Property Lost.
EOBERT DUCKETT, exp., late 7086, middling stout,
52 years of age, 5ft. 4in. high, red hair, blue eyes,
hollow and long visage, ruddy complexion; is
charged on warrant issued at Pinjarrah, on 20th
ult., with neglecting to pay a fine of 5s., inflicted on
l l t h September last. This man is in the Bunbury
District.
On 31st ult., near Toundegin,- -zinc bucket. Now
at Tork PoUce Station.
On the 29th ult., on the road to Claisebrook,- -red
and white shawl.
On the 31st ult., in Murray Street,—one shovel.
On the 28th ult., in Perth,—large silver watch key,
with blue glass in large end. The finder will be
rewarded by owner.
On the 30th ult., between Herdsman's Lake and
the Lime Kilns,—silver lever hunting watch, maker's
name and number not known, with a small silver
chain attached.

complexion; is charged on warrant issued at Bunbury, on 27th ult., with desertiug the service of

Description—sUght, about
24 years of age, 5t't. 1 or 2in. high, light hair, blue
eyes, long visage, fair complexion; is charged, on
warrant issued at Fremantle, on 5th iust., with, on
or about the 28th September last, at Fremantle,
being there delivered of a male child, did by secret
burial endeavor to conceal the birth thereof.
HAEET, ab. native. Description—middhng stout,
40 years of age, 5ft. Sin. high, black hair, black
eyes, black complexion; is charged on warrant
issued at Fremantle, on 5th inst., with deserting
service of Police, at Fremantle.
The pruning shears therein described, found in the
possession of Edward Morgan Davies, t.L, Eeg. No.
9137, Perth, and handed to owner.

On the 19th September, the remains of a human
body were found 2 | miles from Mr. McVean's Station,
Maitland River, North-West Coast; near the remains
a shirt was found quite decayed, there was nothing
but the bones found, so that the cause of death could
not be ascertained. The remains are supposed to be
those of an ab. nat. woman named Dinah, who has
been missing since the end of July or beginning of
August, 1876.

On the 7th inst., from William Eosser's store.
Wheal Fortune Mine, Northampton,—6 or 8 pairs of
mole trousers, various sizes, small roll of white
flannel, small roll of dark linsey, 8 or 9 pocket knives
single and double bladed, wooden handles, and about
201bs. negro head tobacco. This robbery was effected
by cutting a piece of twine which fastened the
window. The foot2)rints of a person were seen leading
from the window into Northampton, described as
about llin. long and Sin. wide at toes, heel plates,

On the night of the 6th inst., from the bedroom of
William Armstrong's dwelliug house, Geraldton,—a
Japanned tin cash box containing a few papers (old
receipts and engagements). This robbery was
effected by the thief putting his hand through a
broken pane of glass and unfastening the bolt of the
window. The cash box was found on the beach on
the Sth inst., receipts aud engagements missing.

fire originated; it is supposed that some lucifer
matches were accidentally dropped among the loose
hay near the barn.

Person, &c.
On the 7th inst., from William Summers' house,
Chittering Brook,—Meerchaum pipe, two loaves of
bread, and some tea and sugar. John Jones, described as stout, about Sft. Bin high, hair sandy,
turning grey, suspected.—C.L 399.
Lost or stolen from the person of Wilson Hall, in
Perth,—cheque drawn by A. J. Hillman, on the
W. A. Bank, in favor of Wilson Hall, dated 20th
November, 1877. Amount =£9 15s.—C.I. 400.
About three weeks ago from the bar of tbe Pier
Hotel, Fremantle,—2 gold scarf pins, small size, one
with small round green stone in centre, one with an
amethyst in centre.—C.I. 401.
On the 23rd inst., from Joseph Sowden's shop,
St. George's Terrace Perth,—revolver, six chambers,
carved stock painted black, ring in butt end, barrel
and breech painted black, variegated, stamped i on
barrel ,;„ in circle l on breech, ':'' in circle on stock,

On the 24th inst., from a grant near the Perth
Causeway,—2 night di-esses, 2 chemises, 2 pairs
white stockings, and 2 coarse towels, the property of
Andrew Sutcliffe. Mary King alias Black Poll,

On the 12th inst., from Samuel Jones' workshop,
Geraldton,—open face silver English lever watch.
No. 23956, with plain silver guard attached, the property of Thomas Smith. Thomas Casely, t.L, Reg.
No. 9116, was seen to steal this watch. Vide Apprehensions.—C.L 404.
On the 14th inst., from John Glaskin's shop door,
Geraldton,—white cockatoo. This bird was taken
out of his cage.—C.L 405.

On the 9th inst., from a bedroom at the Railway
Hotel, Northampton,—silver American lever watch,
double case, small crack on inside of back case, glass
cracked, number not known, the property of Assan
alias John Briars (Malay). John Whitham, esp.,
late 9043, suspected.—C.I. 406.
On the 21st inst., from J. J. Harwood's dwelling
house, Cantonment Street, Fremantle,—gold Albert
chain, cable pattern, bar damaged at both ends.—

On the 24th inst., from James Brown's dwelling
house, Henry Street, Fremantle,—two flower vases.
A girl about 13 years of age, short, wearing dark
colored dress, white straw hat, with her hair hanging
down her back, was seen coming out of the house
and run away, letting one of the vases fall.—C.L

Miscellaneous.
WILLIAM CORNWALL, free; charged at Williams
Police Court, on the 9th inst., by L.C. McDonald,
with allowing an intoxicated person to remain on his
licensed premises, on the 19th October. Fined £2
and costs.
ABRAHAM KRACKONER, free; charged at Williams
Police Court, on 13th inst., by P.C. T. Hogan, with
offering for sale certain goods at the Beaufort River,
on or about the 19th October, contrary to the 25th
Vic, No. 4, Sec. 2. Fined £5 and costs.
On the 1st inst., a fire broke out at Captain
Fawcett's farm, Mookine, destroying the dwelling
house and contents. Toby and Alick, ab. natives,
are suspected of setting fire to this place; these
natives are described in Police Gazette, 1877, page 136.
Reported by Mr. Mason, civil engineer, Northampton, that several stones were placed on the
railway line, close to the landing, about 17 miles
from Geraldton, on the 12th or 13th inst., with a
view to throwing the locomotive off the rails.

charged on warrant issued at Cossack, on the 19th
October, with deserting the service of his employer.

slight, about 40 years of age, Sft. 7in. high, grey
hair, long visage, dark complexion; is charged on
warrant issued at the Williams, on the 15th inst.,
with obtaining money under false pretences from

JOSEPH JENKINS, master barque " Trinculo;" is
charged on warrant issued at Fremantle, on the
20th inst., with steahng from certain wrecks at the
Lacepede Islands, on or about the 1st March, 1877,
a quantity of copper sheathing, value .£180, the
property of Messrs. Bateman, Owston, and Co.

inst., with deserting the service of Captain Fawcett.

are charged on warrant issued at Geraldton, on the
14th inst., with stealing from Michael Hamilton's
hut, at Beden,—one double barrel gun, powder and
shot, a quantity of clothing, tea and sugar, and a
.£1 bank note, the property of Michael Hamilton.
MARGARET or MART JENNINGS is charged on
warrant issued at Geraldton, on the 22nd inst., with
disobeying a magisterial summons, for being drunk
at Geraldton, on l l t h inst. Vide Apprehensions.

hair, light blue eyes, round visage, fresh complexion,
scar back of neck; is charged on warrant issued at
Northam, on the 21st inst., with stealing two pahs

WILLIAM O'SKELLY, free. Description—slight, 13
years of age, 4ft. 8 or 9in. high, brown hair, hazel
eyes, long visage, fair complexion, cast in eye; is
charged on warrant issued at Fremantle, on the 24th
inst., with deserting the schooner " Nautilus," on the
10th October. This boy is supposed to have gone to
his brother, at Waterhatch, near Beverley.

MART K E L L T , married; was charged at Geraldton
Police Court, on the ISth inst., by P.C. Truslove,
with assaulting him while in the execution of his
duty at Northampton, on the I2th Oct. Fined £2,
or in default 2 weeks' imprisonment.

the 14th inst., by P.C. Dunn; charged with loitering
about and having no visible means of support. Sentenced, same date, to one month h.l., as a R. and V.

farm laborer.

anchor and J right arm, sailor and mermaid left arm, has a spot
size of half a crown on left side of head void ot hair, walks vrith
a quick short step, turns right foot outward ; supposed to have
gone to South Australia with Bernard Siein.
Slight, ag-e 70 years, Sft. 3^in. high, grey hair, grey eyes, round
visage, dark complexion.
Stout, age 36 years, Sft, 5Jin. high, light brown hair, light hazel
eyes, long visage, fiesh complexion.
Stout, 40 years of age, Sft. 4in. high, brown hair, oval visage,
dark complexion, bayonet .stab in neck, D left side, bullet mark
on right leg, willow left arm, J right arm.
