Fabric Requirements and Cutting
Instructions Read all instructions before beginning
and use g"-wide seam allowances throughout. Read Cutting
Strips and Pieces prior to cutting fabric.
Getting
Started This garden inspired quilt consists
of smaller scaled blocks in six bi-monthly installments.
Refer to Accurate Seam Allowance. Whenever possible
use Assembly Line Method. Press seams in direction of
arrows. Refer to Appliqué Instructions. Our instructions are
for Quick-Fuse Appliqué, but if you prefer hand appliqué,
reverse patterns and add g"-wide seam allowances.
Appliqués are added to each block prior to sewing the quilt
top together.
Making the Tulip Block
1. Trace 2 sets of flower patterns on page 6 on paper
side of fusible web. Use chosen fabrics to prepare all
Diagram
appliqués for fusing.
Refer 13
to block diagram on page
5 to position and fuse appliqués to 4h” x 7h” pieces
of Fabric A. Finish appliqué edges with machine satin
stitch or other decorative stitching as desired.
2. Refer to Quick Corner Triangles. Making quick corner
triangle units, sew two 2h" Fabric A squares to one
3i" x 2h" Fabric D piece as shown. Press. Make
two, one of each variation.
Fabric A = 2h x 2h
Fabric D = 3i x 2h
