blessed with consistent and
dependable paychecks. Yet

month. Weekly giving can fluctuate from $5,000 to
$15,000. While we are most grateful for any gift that
any parishioner can give at any time, to help us maintain

them, too. It allows them to clearly budget the amount
that they want to give back to God and helps them feel

FAITH TO DEEDS
In today’s second reading James
compares dead faith with active faith. If we see people
who are starving and cold, he says, a Christian does not
just wish them well, but helps them. Mark and Isabel
decided to apply this in their own family. Isabel said,
“We go to Mass every Sunday, we pray together at
home, and we do things in our parish, but what else can
we do to show people who have no job or home that
Jesus loves them?” The children decided to save half of
their pocket money and their parents would match the
amount. At the end of a month they decided to help a
shelter for homeless families trying to regain
independence. The director thanked them and
introduced them to some resident families. On the way
home the younger son said, “They were really nice
people. Can we go on helping them?” “Yes,” said
Isabel. “We’ve only just begun.”
Living Stewardship Now
The family became regular volunteers at the
shelter. They continued to donate money every month
along with household and personal items for the
families, and gave their time to do chores and make
friends. Be a disciple and steward, and teach your
children this way of life.

Santiago compara la fe muerta y la fe viva y activa. Él

hambre y frío no podemos sólo desearles bien, sino
ayudarles. Mark e Isabel decidieron aplicar esto en su

cosas en nuestra parroquia pero, ¿qué más podemos
hacer para demostrarle a las personas desempleadas y
sin un techo que Jesús las ama?” Sus hijos decidieron
ahorrar la mitad del dinero que recibían semanalmente
y sus padres igualarían la cantidad. Al final del mes
decidieron ayudar a un albergue para familias que están
tratando de recuperarse económicamente. Después de
darles las gracias la directora les presentó a algunas de
las familias residentes. De camino a casa el menor de
los hijos dijo: “Son gente muy amable, ¿podemos
seguir ayudándoles?” Isabel respondió; “Claro que sí;
apenas acabamos de empezar”.
La Corresponsabilidad Vivida Ahora
Esta familia se convirtió en asiduos voluntarios
del albergue. Continuaron donando dinero todos los
meses así como otros artículos personales y domésticos
para las familias residentes; además emplearon su
tiempo para ayudar con quehaceres y hacer amistades
allí. Sé discípulo y vive tu corresponsabilidad cristiana.
Enseña a tus hijos esta manera de vivir.

Are you gambling with your health?
If you would like to serve St. Mary
Magdalene parish as an EMHC team member, now is
your opportunity. We have openings available at the
7am, 10:30am and 12:30pm Mass. We would like to
expand our ministry so that each minister would serve
approximately once every three weeks. Training will be
provided and you will be placed on our quarterly
schedule. If interested, please contact one of our
EMHC outside the church after each Mass on
September 26th and 27th. They will answer questions
and furnish you with the information necessary to sign
up. You may also contact Ed Stow, Ministry
Coordinator. Information on how to reach him is in the
bulletin under Eucharistic Ministry.

Day of Peace Service at
St. Mary Magdalene.
All boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to
participate in the local level of the competition for the
2015 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge within
their respective age divisions. The local competition will
be held on Sunday, September 20th after each mass at
St. Mary Magdalene Church. Participants are required
to furnish proof of age and parental consent to
participate. Entry forms will be available the day of the

Challenge Competition
Todos los niños y niñas de 9 a 14 años, están

Desafío de Fútbol 2015 de los Caballeros de Colón en

We can make a difference and help save
lives! The Walk for Life the ministry of Corona
Life Services, which serves thousands of individuals in
the Greater Corona area each year. The center has been
booming with abortion minded clients and they wish to
be able to provide real options counseling and
introduce them to their unborn children through

Shoe Drive
Our St. Vincent de Paul ministry is
asking you to please donate your slightly
used or NEW shoes. The more shoes donated, the more
money we generate AND it's a great time to clean out
your closets. We will be collecting shoes at all Masses
in the month of September at the Yellow
House. We'll have a "Shoe Drive" for cars to just
drive by and our volunteers will take the shoes from
them without anyone having to leave their cars.
